A clip of my own, a funny bit from a game I was playing my friend before you came on:

I recently found out there's a site that can give you your DbD stats. Here's my page.

Note that some aren't totally accurate. For example, it lists "4" for "downed survivor: with a hatchet." That seems to actually track the achievement "Skilled Huntress" ("in public matches, down survivors 20 times with The Huntress' Hatchets further than 24 meters"), not literally every hatchet down.

Another example is "wiggled from the killer's grasp." It lists 2, but I'm sure I've done it more than that. I suspect the reason it says 2 is that it's tracking based on the "Cutting Out" achievement, which was only added when Ash was released.

Most of the stats are probably accurate, but there are a few that are misleading.

Edit: Also, I mentioned in one of our matches together that I was having trouble hitting the DS skill check. Since then, I've had to use it in four matches and I hit the skill check all four times. I guess I just needed to adjust to it.

Are you doing anything special for Double Bloodpoints? For myself, I've decided to level the Plague. I want to get Dark Devotion and use it on the Doctor for a "screwing around" build. I tested it in Custom and can confirm that when you give your Obsession your terror radius, Treatment Mode carries over, too.

I doubt it'll win me any games but it'll be fun, I think.

Progress Report: I've got Dark Devotion III on the Doctor now. Only used it once so far, at level 1, but seemed to mess with Survivors some.

Also I was watching an Ohmwrecker video and learned something I'd never noticed before: the little Entity claws that mark the Obsession begin twitching when the Obsession is in chase with the Killer. Potentially useful information right there.

Sorry that I haven't been keeping up with this thread as well recently.

To answer your question from September, I believe at the time I was leveling Nancy for her teachables and then leveling said perks onto Kate. Since then I've also done the same with Bill and Steve's perks. Yui will probably be next.

To answer the question you were asking me in the first clip, the camera rotation is built into the Hag. It happens regardless of any add-ons she's using or anything like that.

Here are what I think are some of my better recent videos.

I've also made a video comparing clips of our POVs on the lag in the recent match. I won't be posting it immediately because I have some others to post that I'd like to pace out a little bit.

I've been playing a lot of the Switch version lately myself. My roommates got it and play it more than PC so In got it too so we can all play together.

I've taken a different strategy to leveling there. I've got David and the Cannibal leveled high enough for We're Gonna Live Forever and Barbecue and Chili, now when I level or characters I only go until I've got level 3 of the perk on them. That way no matter who I play I can grind points.

I met a very unusual killer. Video is 2 minutes long.

An amusing match versus the Pig. Clearly a very inexperienced killer though, so I also sympathize.

I can't say I agree with the proposed changes.

In better news, I just reached Rank 2 Survivor. I'm four pips away from Rank 1.

Congratulations and/or you poor bastard.

I'm excited to see how the Doctor works out. I've already realized/seen mentioned a few perks that would pair well with him. Whispers, for example, becomes a lot more useful on the Doctor. Soon as it lights up just unleash your Static Blast and you're guaranteed at least one hit.

I'll wait and see on Ruin. Everybody's all on They Changed It, Now It Sucks! mode because something is now different and they haven't even used it yet, so I can't take the complaints too seriously yet.

It's really more "They Replaced It, Now It's Gone!" The game's best delay perk is being replaced by a high risk regression perk. Ruin only needs to be up for two minutes or so to get some utility and buy the killer extra time to apply pressure. It can get cleansed in the first quarter of the match and still have done it's job as long as it doesn't go down near instantly.

NuRuin, while interesting, requires the killer to apply pressure to get use out of it. And if the totem goes down early (which is likely) it won't have done very much. I can see it in some pretty interesting builds, and I can speculate about what killers and other perks it has the best synergies with, but it won't fulfill the same role Ruin did. When/if these change go through, I think Corrupt Intervention will be the closest thing to doing Ruin's original job.

Also, congratulations are indeed in order. I've been working hard to get to Rank 1. Thanks!

My point is that it feels like too many people are knee jerk complaining that they're hating on it without actually thinking about its value or lack of. It's like a boy who cried wolf thing. There's so much negatively that it drowns out any legitimate arguments. It's not currently worth the trouble to filter the good from the bad.

I think I've asked this before but how do you get that stat screen?

The link is in my first post on this page. Replace the number with your own Steam ID. (The original number, not your custom url. You can find it by temporarily removing your custom url.)

Respectfully, we have extremely different perspectives on the proposed Ruin changes. Ruin is a bandaid killers have the option to put on the open wound that is the game's balance at high rank play. The Devs have proposed to rip off this bandaid without healing the wound underneath, and their stated reasons are frankly insulting.

But please don't mistake my meaning: the Devs mean well, and the overall trend over time has been very positive for the game. But it's always two steps forward, one step back. They've made many baffling decisions over the years. Many of which they have since reverted. It isn't the end of the world, and I think it's highly likely that they won't go through with the changes as they are currently stated. But the Devs have described to us a furry pack mammal with sharp teeth that's known for howling at the moon. The veterans in the shepherd community know that's a wolf. A Hex: Ruin eating wolf. (Full-circle metaphor!)

I wouldn't mind if NuRuin was introduced as its own, separate perk. It would synergize well with Ruin (fittingly?). It just can't do what Ruin can do.

The unambiguously good news is: the new version of Lery's Memorial Institute is really cool looking.

My perspective isn't really concerned with the devs or their reasons. Mostly because I'm sincerely convinced the people I'm specifically talking about didn't get that far either.

The people I'm talking are the ones who make "Ruin is Ruined" threads by the dozen before the PTB even went live. I have a very low tolerance for excessive negativity, so when I log into the DBD forums and see precisely that, my thoughts are less "wow the devs must have screwed up royally" and more "Oh, boy, here we go." I'm more inclined to look at the posts or opinions like yours, that note what I've seen mentioned elsewhere, new Ruin would work best as a general Perk than a Hex Perk, or that with out combos like using it with Surveillance or Thrilling Tremors.

As far as the changes themselves, they are what they are. In my mind, complaining about them won't ultimately change much, if anything, so to me it seems more productive to figure out how to work with and/or around what's been changed.

I'm excited to get home and try the Doctor out for myself. I've been listening to streams but, because I'm working, I haven't been able to actually watch so I haven't seen the new map myself

I've now gotten to play Doctor for myself and he's fun. I've been messing around with Dark Devotion to see how it interacts with the static Blast. So far it seems to comes from the Obsession, but they are now affected by it.

Also gave Sniper Doc a run and had fun with that.

Also re:Ruin, it definitely seems to help with slow down if you're proactive, but I think I can see where the people who day it shouldn't be a hex are coming from.

I think the prognosis on the Doctor changes may be leaning positive.

I watched this match live the other day and thought it'd be a good one to share. It's pretty much best case scenario versus a good team.

Something extra fun to do with this video: watch the the totem counter on Thrill of the Hunt and see when each totem is broken. It really drives home would a lucky spawn this was for the Ruin totem.

EDIT:

This conversation is interesting also.

Do you know of the YouTuber Ussylis?

I just had a match with him. My actual full video won't be up for a while because I have a queue of videos still to upload, but I found this pretty exciting.

I also achieved Adept Kate this match. I don't usually go for Adepts. It was just something extra for me to do since I'm already Rank 1.

I've been just playing as time allows, which is easier said than done as I've been very busy with overtime at work.

My own little project lately has been character themed builds. Builds geared around the character's lore, or how the game describes their Teachables. Last week I got Puppers to play one and it went really well:

  1. Dark Sense
  2. Kindred
  3. Spine Chill
  4. Stake-Out
  5. Choice between toolbox or Killer Detecting key as item.

It's based on the game's description of Feng Min's perks as being good for "Repairing Generators and locating the Killer"

Puppers did it on stream with a toolbox and managed an escape with it, noting that while it looks odd it's a solid build.

Please provide links for stuff like that, when possible. I found the vods of Puppers playing your build. He played it once on Saturday, and twice on Monday.

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/534546471 1:52:50 - 2:06:30 https://www.twitch.tv/videos/535572862 3:27:50 - 3:39:00 5:07:26 - 5:16:36

At the end of the last/third match, look for me saying "Adept?" in the chat. Puppers responded to me. (Or to the other two people who said the same thing. But still.)

Honestly the only reason I didn't pull up a vid offs because I wasn't sure where to even start looking for it. Plus I'd posted sorting a work break so it would've been easier said than done unless I had the link ready to begin with.

That said, I do appreciate your tracking it down. I didn't know he'd played it more than the one time.

To make up for it a bit, here's a link straight to the timestamps:

Had a game tonight that featured some sweet, sweet karma. Switch version, Mother's Dwelling, vs Wraith with two of my roommates and a random playing Claudette. I'm the first to die, in part because Claudette points me out to the killer (which I saw courtesy of Aftercare). After my death, she takes the map I'd brought in with me and uses it while running around the level, doing next to nothing while my last surviving roommate runs the Wraith around and at least tries to do a gen. Come endgame, the hatch is open, Claudette finds it, but stands on it rather than jump in, presumably to jump in once the Killer gets close. What Claudette apparently did not know, however, is that the Wrath can close the hatch while invisible. He also had Hex: No One Escapes Death (and she also passed by 3 dull totems wandering the map).

Nice. I'm generally not one to talk trash, but that Claudette sounds like one of the most garbage players imaginable.

~

Here are some of my recent videos I like. I've started to play more killer again. Specifically, I've really started to like Ghostface.

I recommend this first video in particular because it's less than a minute long.

This match vs. Oni got off to a really bad start. Just goes to show why you should never give up when you're playing survivor.

I'm reluctant to play Trapper because it's very difficult to get his traps to pay off, but I quite like how this match went. Plus I think the cosmetics I have on him are really cool, so I'm glad to finally have a match of him worth uploading.

EDIT: Oh, and the match with Ussylis went up as well if you're curious. Link

EDIT 2: I think this may be the last post on this page, so I may re-post these later.
