EDIT: Oh, just realized it's the same thing with three extra characters. EDIT2: Also, the code RANKROULETTE apparently still works for those who haven't used it yet. I used it about 10 days ago.
PTB is out, too! We will know the new perks very soon!

Formerly KarmaMeter.I'm honestly a tiny annoyed at the idea of the new killer having AI helpers. Not because of the idea itself, but because something in that vein was an idea I'd had for a rework of the Legion.
Basically you play as one (Frank for example) and as you hit people with Feral Frenzy Julie, Susie, and Joey come out of the woodwork to pursue any Deep Wounded survivors Frank isn't for either a set time limit or until they Mend, whichever comes first. Their hits won't down survivors directly but reduce their Deep Wounds timer in a way similar to how Legion worked on release.
It was inspired by a video I watched about how the ghosts of Pac-Man were programed.

Information on new Perks is out. I will put them in a folder so you can click at your own discretion.
Jill Valentine - perk 2: Immediately regain 40% healing progress after being unhooked.
Jill Valentine - Perk 3: After completing 2/3 of a generator, you can use the active ability button to put a trap on a generator for 35 seconds. If the Killer tries to kick a trapped generator, they get stunned and blinded.
Leon - Perk 1: You make no noises when healing, and there are no noise or visual notifications for failing a healing check.
Leon - Perk 2: After completing 2/3 of a generator, enter a locker and press the ability button to craft a Flash Grenade
Leon - Perk 3: Complete 5 good or great skill checks while repairing generators to get the effect for the rest of the trial. You automatically see the aura of all regressing generators.
Nemesis - Perk 1: See all survivors for 5 seconds at the start of the game
Nemesis - Perk 2: When you down a survivor with a basic attack, all injured survivors become Oblivious for 20 seconds, once every 60 seconds
Nemesis - perk 3: Kicking a generator applies it with a permanent mark. When you down a survivor with a basic attack, all marked generators explode, regress -6%, and you (the killer) lose sight of the auras. Survivors on the marked generator when it explodes are incapacitated for 10 seconds.

It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesI was having bad lag in my first live PTB match, so I decided to test out the Play with AI tutorials. I just finished the survivor one, and it's surprisingly authentic. You can actually 360 the Trapper bot and make him miss.
Formerly KarmaMeter.I'm a killer main >>
And I thought of that but the way the thing works itd still match me with like. Rank 2-3 people as I've been fightin. My killer rank isn't even that high it's just 10 - still sufficient to not pit me with the newbies so they'll chuck me faster with the rank 1-5's I keep getting anyways
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesSo I'm totally bandwagoning right now but is there an actual story mode to this game? The game's lore sounds fascinating but it doesn't look like an actual plot progression. Or whatever Left 4 Dead was doing.
Also, is there a reason why everyone is rejoicing that Meg getting killed by Nemesis?
Hate is a strong word.
It's more like R3make was incredibly disappointing compare to RE2 Remake.
Looking at some videos in the build up and it could be that they borrowed some assets from Capcom to make it easier, the Demogorgon model from Stranger Things was given to them by Netflix and they just had to make their adjustments from there.
As for lore, there are challenges you can complete to unlock bits of lore of the backstories of different characters and the setting, but that's about it.
X5 This game's matchmaking is awful to the point of infamy, I hit the point where I started experiencing it when I hit rank 14 and started getting thrown against 1-5s and getting rocked as killer. I learn under duress but running against SWF meta groups when you're still learning the ropes is so rough.

OK, wow, so I was two-thirds right. Called Jill and Nemesis but did not expect Leon as well.

This is my personal opinion but...yes and no. It is by all means an Excuse Plot. It's never been anything more than an Excuse Plot. And this is not a bad thing. Narrative as we know it conveys not only a sequentially logical secret series of plot twists for us to try and discern. This alone does not necesarily convey a story.
Dead by Daylight is pretty decent at conveying emotion. The atmosphere, the music, the artstyle, the one the sound design - it is delightfully oriented towards conveying the emotions of 80's-90's slasher flicks. Which I'd argue it's not horror per se, but a cheesy sort of horror that you get into on purpose.
So every little tidbit of lore, from the tragic story of the Yamaoka family, the visceral horror and despondent setting of The Plague, the awkward creepiness of the Clown, the lies and hardships of each survivor, the machinations of the Entity and the Observer's annotations...all eloquently come to fruition on a gameplay that allows itself to be simultaneously serious and jocose, in its own way.
TL;DR: It is a good Excuse Plot, even gameplay aside, IMO.
So I decided to embark on a brand new journey of self-loathing, and have taken to the game again. The first match I get into is literally all rank 1's. I am glad I was the plague only looking to do my mission instead of actually killing so I went with no addon items or anythingm but god damn. Why.
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesSo, the way characters are introduced to Dead by Daylight are twofold, with an extra one. First one is via the text blurb of their introduction. It generally describes the character at large, and then a situation where they were alone and something took them (The Entity, of course). The second one are their memories, unlocked through completing certain challenges in the game. Myers lacks the second, and these tend to be the most thorough. So all there is known of him are tidbits that people try to weave into something more interesting.
The secret ones, are item descriptions, and gameplay effects.
Mike Myers' case is built based on the following bits: first, his description is basic. It describes what happened in the events of the first Halloween movie, and implies Myers was taken by the Entity when he was shot in the face and landed on bushes, considering it is an iconic part of the movie that they Never Found the Body.
Next, we have a descriptive text from an in-lore character: Benedict Baker (who is a survivor who gives a description of the survivors and killers and how they behave within the realm of the entity. For Myers, he says the following:
There is also a gameplay iteration that comes into play. Killers can equip addons which have brief descriptions about them and give hints as to their nature and past. The Clown for example references his lurid nature by having...VHS porn, The Trickster has several audio recordings of the people he killed and remixed into his songs, etc.
Myers has an addon whose description is not so much important as its game effect.
The game has something called "Mori". This is a relatively "expensive" item that the killers have to willingly sacrifice. It allows them to kill the last person remaining in the match, if they have eliminated all others and they have beaten them up enough. The only way killers execute someone by not making this offering to the Entity is via letting them bleed out, or some rare mechanics, like the Pig's or Pyramid Head's.
In Myers' case, he has an addon that improves his difficulty significantly but allows him to straight up slaughter survivors without asking the Entity for permission. This gave rise to the theory Myers is so alien, even to the entity, he's just allowed to get away with that. This theory comes in different flavors ranging from "He is stronger than the Entity" to "The Entity is scared of Myers and does it to please him". Similar to Pyramid Head, who can kill people without an addon. This is why those two abound with theories of "X is actually keeping them in" or "The otherworld is more powerful than The Entity" etc

There are vaccines that can heal you, but they are limited. Furthermore, when fighting nemesis, the map will have zombie AI units which will alert Nemesis, and attempt to infect the survivors. The Zombies are killable by pallet drops.
