"Donald Trump, as with any other current political figure, should not be a subject of any trope example on the wiki, except:
- When the work in question specifically mentions the RL individual.
- When the entirety of the example has to do with the portrayal of that individual in the work.
- When the work is fictional.
All three of these must apply.
Alternatively:
- When the RL individual has a creative role themselves, such as writing or acting in a work. In this sense we give them no more nor less treatment then we would any other creator.
Additionally, please make sure to take out any examples of "Funny Aneurysm" Moment, Harsher in Hindsight, or Hilarious in Hindsight regarding these political figures. A political event that may be seen positively by some people may be seen negatively by others.

Given the current political climate, talking about Donald Trump on this Wiki is a very sensitive topic and pretty much any comment on him could easily end up violating the Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment. I talked it over on Ask a Troper and a moderator gave me permission to start this topic. I feel it will be necessary to make sure any mention of him is safe and avoids politically charged or biased opinions. Right now, we need to stick to facts, not opinions.

Yes, it's saying President Trump is engaging in criminal behavior. Clearly that isn't written from even close to a neutral perspective; it needs a cut.

Problem is, there was already a vote to make it NRLEP and they kept the page. I didn't vote in it, but I don't want to relitigate this when I feel consensus has been reached.
Or maybe things have changed. I'm a firm believer that consensus can change.

Consensus can change, but to me it seems an obvious case of keeping real life examples. RL doesn't necessarily mean politics; other RL examples are mostly fine.

It's generally not a good idea to be referring to present day right-wing politicians as Nazis.
OK. We all know how the Trump impeachment will end at this stage. Therefore, I'm seriously considering an objective-POV So Bad, It's Horrible entry for the impeachment trial. The fact is, there was just too damn much hyper-partisanship on both sides of the issue, and since everyone knew the outcome even before the articles were submitted in the first place you're probably hearing the Eight Deadly Words coming from both sides of the aisle.

Look, I get it, Ryan. Bluntly, both sides of the US political spectrum (I'm Canadian) make me only slightly more thankful that my country has less divisive politics. I know that regardless of what political viewpoint you take, you feel like both the Republicans and Democrats are off the rails. That said, you do not want to provoke people on either side by listing this impeachment in the Horrible subpages.

First off, as War Jay explained, So Bad, It's Horrible is for FICTIONAL works. The impeachment trial does not fit. Again, read the rules- the work must be fictional in order for the edit to be considered acceptable. Aside from that, it will obviously provoke a lot of people, since it is a hot-button issue. Not a good idea. Just please, reconsider this.
(And this is coming from a centrist who disapproves of both major parties and partisanship in general, mind you.)

,: Apparently it's not on the NRLEP list for whatever reason. In fact, the page even says "some Real Life examples can be found on...", linking to two other Darth Wiki pages and a trope subpage. That may imply that Real Life examples are allowed. (I'm heading over to the Real Life thread to fix that.)
