Now that just gives me even more questions, considering archaneas regalia were rusted weapons in 3H and this is almost the same exact spear a Corrupted Duma made.

Well, either way, it's been a very long time since I've been excited about a banner. Never really occurred to me that the Morgans were an option to pick but I suppose I never really thought they were corrupt as opposed to blindly following orders. I guess that means Fates have a bunch of units to choose from.

I do like the Morgans, so I'll probably try and pull for one of them. I've got a pretty good orb stock right now.

I did predict Husk! Edelgard and Grima! Morgan as possible fallen heroes, but damn, people seem to really want Fallen Chrom.

Refines. Seems that waiting for 25 turns really paid off for Ryoma.

Dire Thunder refine when?

• Ike - Hmmm, it's okay for him. Gives him a bit of Res, but probably not enough. The acceleration turns regular Aether into Radiant Aether I, but he also doesn't have any innate special charge acceleration. Might work for super-invested whale Ikes, but I really don't see a good reason to refine him.
• Legendary Ike - Better for him, since he's already trying to stack up Res with his base kit. Still gonna be a bit weak, though that special acceleration is kind of big for the opening with Radiant Aether II. Lets him immediately blast the first attack for what will probably be a much-needed heal. After that, it's in an awkward place since he's typically getting doubled by a lot of stuff. I guess the 3-charge lets him drop the Breath for something else, and still get an Aether off if he gets doubled and has Quick Riposte.
• Black Knight/Zelgius - Same problem as young Ike, as far as bad Res goes. However, 2-charge Black Luna is pretty notable. It was strong enough back in the day for people to burn DC and a Slaying Edge+ on him (alongside Bold Fighter and/or Steady Breath). Getting the special acceleration while keeping the innate DC means he might be able to get stuff done (but probably not against magic).
• Ryomas - NFU and a more lenient stat boost than the others is interesting. Less so for infantry Ryoma than Legendary Ryoma, though, due to NFU not normally being available to fliers. Infantry Ryoma would also need a lot more work, whereas Legendary Ryoma's new base kit plays straight into it. Between his weapon and B, he's got NFU, DC, Iote's, unconditional true damage, and DR%. Just... dude.
• Xander - Similar problem to young Ike. I guess the follow-up nullification is something, but with his Res as is, just one hit from a modern mage is going to leave him mostly dead (if not fully dead).
• Camus - Same bad Res problem again. That healing ain't gonna make up for how badly he's likely to get blasted.
• Hardin - He makes way better use of the Gradivus with his high mixed defenses. Only thing is in order to have any real killing power on the counterattacks, he's going to need Vengeful Fighter. Incidentally, this also helps maximize his healing. He'll need a Stance 4 on top of that, though, as without a Guard effect, that healing is going to get overwhelmed by his enemies doubling and charging Specials. Usable, but expensive, awkward, and still stuck in Brave Hector's shadow.

Overall, I think Legendary Ryoma and Hardin are the only ones who can even think about trying to stand up to modern power creep.

IDK, I'll take any buffs for DC guys. I never really thought they were going beat the top-tier units anyways.

Although I find Xander's refine to be kinda questionable since I mostly use him as a tank, but I feel like I'm reading something wrong.

x3 Camus could always generally tank physical attacks, though. I was still using him with Swordbreaker to kill swords (and sometimes lances) in AA. Thing is, though, he doesn't need DC for that. I guess he might be able to bait some bows and daggers, but it's really hard to find any of those who aren't L!Leif or Florlyna these days (which he would almost certainly die to without some serious overhaul).

x2 There was always the possibility that the units would get Brave Ike/Hector-tier upgrades, since a lot of these units are pretty popular characters. I guess maybe IS decided they needed to cool it a bit (except with Ryoma, Lottery Winner, apparently).

Well, Xander's is a tank refine, just more of an one-time bait tank refine, since it wants the enemy to be at >= 75% HP. It drops enemy Atk by 5 and prevents them from following up (barring attacker follow-up skill shenanigans). Problem is that stuff he'd want to bait nowadays will largely not die to the counterattack, so his teammates will definitely have to quickly deal with the injured opponents. I guess even at that threshold, him blocking follow-ups does at least free up his B to run Quick Riposte. He might take down a few things that way.

I completely forgot about B!Hector. That is weird that someone like Ike didn't get something incredibly busted. I mean, Maltet does like what, 3 things at once?

Still, I was never really expecting any of DC units to get anything incredible but it would've been nice for Xander to have some kind of stats buff.

Wonder what L!Ryoma should be running in the A-slot now? Before it was either Life and Death with a Firesweep or Swift Sparrow 4, but now that he has some enemy-phase presence what should it be?

Technically more like four, since the >= 25%-HP condition has two components. It's pretty silly.

His base kit is pretty EP focused now, so he probably wants to run something like a Stance "4" for the Guard effect and big stat boost. Swift Stance 3 (Spd/Res) would help touch up his Res while ensuring his DR% stays at a healthy level.

I pulled Edelgard and Dimitri in my first two pools. The IV isn't so good, but I can manage.

Forging bonds is... very interesting.
