Meanwhile, my game seems to be just kind of stuck on the update download screen.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? It updated fine for me. Might be a hardware thing.

I’ve only been playing this game very occasionally and casually lately, so I only had 35 orbs saved up to pull on the newest legendary banner.

Only two full pulls landed me +Atk, -Spd Hríd (first one), which is pretty cool. -Spd looks like one of the least obtrusive banes based on his already craptastic speed and weapon effect allowing him a follow up attack on debuffed foes anyway. His skills make it easy. But wow, this guy is going to have 13 speed at max level...lol.

Still haven’t picked a free CYL unit though, I can’t decide between Alm, Micaiah and Eliwood.

Didn't work; I've even restarted my phone and it didn't work.

My app store isn't saying there's an update either.

Hrid's just absurdly minmaxed that way.

You might have to reinstall. This is mostly guess work, of course, but I wonder if maybe a file got corrupted and the updater is flipping out.

Dumped 100-odd more orbs over lunch. Annoyingly, I keep getting circles without green, so I guess I'm still pulling like, 30% red and 10% colourless. I guess I can't complain too loudly, since it got me a +Atk Ares to upgrade my +Def one to. Had my rate get broken once (not by a red, surprisingly), by yet another Yune. This is getting silly. I guess my Dark season losses will be capped at -38, so that's... something. I'd really like to walk away with at least one Thrasir, though. My poor Anima defense keeps getting pummeled by super whales for -60s and -80s.

In order to recover from the cold she caught last time, Celica ate a truckload of jello. Meanwhile Thrasir, having heard about the open spot in the dance troupe, went to audition herself, only to find Celica already recovered. Being a responsible adult, Thrasir naturally was going to leave gracefully until she heard about Celica eating her brethren. Thrasir uh, did not take it well.

Had a real dry streak where I almost used up all my orbs and would have had to dip into Oct's monthly orbs. Well, I'll be using those anyway, but that pity rate was getting a little high. Finally got a single Thrasir, following by yet another Spring Veronica. I guess I'll have to look at building a Reyson for my Earth green (I'll need more copies of him, though... not that I have enough copies of F!Robin yet, anyway).

I just got myself some tasty cherry Jell-O. +Spd, -HP.

I got some Cherry Jello, but she's +Atk -Res. Meh.

Also got Bun Veronica (+Res -Atk, ew) and Blue Soren (+Atk -Def).

Nothing wrong with +Atk. Her base Spd is 39, which is already stupidly fast, but +Atk gives her 36 Atk. The -Res is a little unfortunate, but she's a nuker and has just enough bulk to survive attacking into most non-reds (and some reds).

I may actually build a full Anima defense at this point. Thrasir being infantry means that I can build that Pulse Party team I'd been waffling about, since even if I end up with a Thrasir/Duma setup instead of Thrasir/Thrasir, that's only one space that doesn't benefit from IP (well, technically Ophelia won't benefit either, since with the setup I'm considering, she'd end up with enough charge from just her tome).

Pulled a few times, got nothing but trash. Forget it. Thrasir doesn't deserve me.

I'm still surprised that someone wearing a outfit that risque is allowed in a Nintendo game.

Also come on team Shigure we can still win this voting gauntlet!

After Spring Loki, nothing is too far.

I got 20 orbs together last night and went to pull. No greens, so I bailed on a red. +Atk/-HP Hrid. Well played, IS.

Trying to use my L!Eliwood as my bonus unit has proven a bit problematic. He deals damage through just about anything (because 68 Atk on initiation with Atk Tactic, even with his -Atk), but against super whale armour emblem's 50-60 Def, he's struggling. I guess it's a good thing I can't quite hit the base score required to possible stay in T21 (748+12 per match), so I can just mess around and not care. It's too bad he can't give bonus doubler to himself.

I also ended up coming across an Arena defense for a player who decided that L!Alm should inherit a Brave Bow+. Just... what?

Thrasir is downright tame compared to some of the greatest hits, including Spring Loki and every Camilla except Brave, Actually Wearing Pants This Time Camilla.

We're living in the darkest timeline. The one where someone doesn't know to just give him Desperation and profit.

Speaking of Arena though, I don't have the money or investment to get +10 merges on my most powerful guys or any fancy stuff, so I sit at a comfortable T17, easy for me to hit with or without bonus units, and I don't have to worry about dropping.

If you don't care about Arena (or the small amount of extra orbs), it's probably for the best you don't invest, since the feathers are technically a large net loss. Half the reason I even have a wind teams is because Gunnthra keeps showing up when I'm trying to pull other stuff, to the point where I might as well finish her off. I've also got my Florina and BK tagging along with her and those are units I like enough to +10 regardless. Likewise for F!Grima +4 and M!Morgan +10 for earth season, though F!Grima isn't nearly merged enough and I still need a R Duel Infantry for Morgan (and to get more copies of Reyson so I can even consider him for G Duel Flying). Out of all my +10s (of which Fjorm is the only 5* exclusive), it's only Draug, Sheena and Gwendolyn that I'm a bit meh on.

I guess TLDR, Duel skills really changed my view of non-water seasons, which I otherwise would have more or less ignored.

...Is Thrasir's outfit really that scandalous?

Maybe if you view the red Jell-O as her equivalent of exposed skin, sure, but it's a damn poor equivalence.

I mean I meant it as a joke. She's a jello skeleton.

But you sure as hell couldn't put that outfit on anyone else.

Maybe the "jello" is actually a part of her outfit, and anyone who wears it will have their bones exposed.

Maaaan. The guy who's metal enough to ballroom dance in armor lost to a meme. It was one of the closest VGs I've ever seen, but I was hoping our boy would pull out a win in the one instance where he's outright happy and having fun.

Oh well. Reinhardt has zero chance of beating Inigo so I can get revenge, but Olivia's 99% sure to destroy Inigo. I like Inigo as a character better and I actually have a PA!Inigo, so even though we're destined for defeat, time for me to support him.

x2 Sounds like a job for my "you don't get to play the game if you're a dragon" team of L!Marth, L!Roy, L!Julia and Dancer Elincia.

Dang, -Spd is actually pretty unfortunate, since Zelgius' speed is actually pretty decent (especially for an armor - mine's +Spd and has a stupidly high for an armor 37 speed, lol). Basically his optimal build is Fierce Breath / Steady Breath, Bold Fighter, and Armor March, but that's an expensive build.

Mine's super EP focused: Fierce Stance, Vantage, Hone Armor, and Swap because I use him exclusively on my Armor Emblem team. Works pretty well for what I need him for (covering greens so L!Tiki doesn't have to).
