Nonetheless let's leave behind using "trigger" like that for things that don't induce things like PTSD in people.
I voted for someone in my home state that was about as progressive as AOC was in the midterms, but unfortunately she lost 48-52. That's still a higher number than most other challengers to the incumbent, but it makes me sad anyway that things won't get better like they could.
The people of that sort, including the guy in the video I linked, throw the word around as if it didn't mean anything. So I feel sort of justified in throwing it back.
Apathy is Death. Worse than Death, because at least a rotting corpse feeds beasts and insects.I mean you aren't just hurting the people who made the video and the like if you do that though. AOC seems cool.
…What does it mean, I'm curious?
It literally means to cause (an event or situation) to happen or exist. It is often used in connotation with mental disorders such as PTSD.
Apathy is Death. Worse than Death, because at least a rotting corpse feeds beasts and insects.A trigger in this context is basically a keyword or event that can cause a sufferer of PTSD to have a flashback. Triggers from my understanding are pretty debilitating and not something to take lightly when they happen.
If I recall correctly what basically happened to cause the alt-right to start using the word is a few people on Tumblr, fanfiction, and other sites started posting trigger warnings or telling people to stop triggering them, usually in regards to rape jokes and dark humor, and this was perceived as being too sensitive and easily offended thus the alt-right stole the term and calls anyone whom disagrees with them over anything as being triggered.
In reality the alt-right has the most sensitive little shits on their side that I have ever seen. Reminder that these people are the ones trying to boycott Gilette over an ad that simply asked men to be better to eachother, their kids, and women. And they are also pulling all the stops right now for spoiled punchable racist rich white little shits because a old native american vet with a drum is apparently very threatening.

"The only truly woke brand is Nintendo, because they invented Donkey Kong and he supports trans right."
- Shaun
Makes you wonder whether Adblock is a blessing or a curse, by making the companies switch to increasingly surreptitious advertising methods… like making youtubers do the advertising for them. >.>
Shaun didn't say that, just a You Tube commenter with a reversed Shaun avatar.
It's correct, however.
The problem I have with “woke commercials is that they all feel so condescending, phony, and hypocritical. Several of these companies use what is more or less slave labor so they have no right to lecture me on morality

You're going to pay a price for every bloody thing you do and everything you don't do. You don't get to choose to not pay a price.I think both sides of the woke controversy suck. You're either a weirdo that burns five pairs of shoes for no reason other than to stick it to the man or an asshole who decides to buy a few pairs of shoes because you like a company who has done shady shit who happens to agree with you over yahoos.
It's been 3000 years…At least the latter don't make obnoxious youtube vids out of it?
That's debatable. It's like the difference between shit and vomit.
Nothing will be funnier than the Gilette commercial, whose only point was "We, as men, can be better people," to which hundreds of thousand shrieking infants screamed "NO I FUCKING WON'T!"
My various fanfics. The dumbest thing was is that no one destroying their coffee makers seemed to understand what a boycott is. Kuerig already had their money; they were just destroying their coffee makers and forcing themselves to spend more money elsewhere, or even at Kuerig again!, unless they were going to go without their morning caffeine.
Like, wow, that shows them, destroying a product that they've already made their profit off of.
I blame these dumbfucks for why we're reportedly getting a Rose Tico spinoff.
It was a rumour last I heard, but there's been word that Disney may or may not be developing one along with a few other spinoffs. I detest the character and think most of these rumoured spinoffs are either pointless or a load of bull, but if true it would be some epic Laser-Guided Karma and Self-Fulfilling Prophecy.
Or a weird kind of Take That!
"...in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."To be quite frank, I don't see a problem with the character - the side-plot she was involved in was an issue (because it felt unncessary to me), but I never got the sheer hatred the internet seems to have for Rose (apart from the obvious reason the internet tends to hate a character for these days).
Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.Basically everything involving Rose was awful, but I didn't especially dislike her as a character. I'm not sure I understand how this is connected to the topic at hand, though?
Brand video was good, though I don't feel like much was said that hasn't already been said.
Rose was weird, in that I managed to warm up to her and then go off her all in one movie. I think the same character given a better subplot to do may have turned out better. I also don't like the romance, it felt absurdly forced.
After Solo, I feel like any other character-focused spin-offs are going to be pretty difficult.

Thats is a strawman. Our issue with the commercial was that it came off as condescending towards men. Their are shitty men out their yes but their are also shitty women. Its not fair to pin the blame for all bullying on just men. Also, notice how they don’t show Weinstein, Cosby, or Polanski in the ad. They’re taking Hollywood’s garbage and shoving it onto us average joes. Their was a time when big corporations were targeted by political activists. Now these activists rush to the defense of corporations like Gillette or Google just because they supposedly “share their values. They aren’t they are just using you as pawns and the second you’re no longer useful they will slit your throat and leave dying in the gutter. I’d reccomend watching Voxis Production’s video on the ad and if you haven’t also check out the counter advert made by Egard Watches. It was so beautiful it made me tear up.
Gillette cares so much about women that their female centric products cost more than their male centric ones

You're going to pay a price for every bloody thing you do and everything you don't do. You don't get to choose to not pay a price. And that is whataboutism. Women being shitty has nothing to do with men being shitty, and all they ask is a bit of introspection.
The watch add was discussed at length in the thread on Sexism and Men's Issues (starting here). It was a blatant attempt to make men look lie "the real victims" without offering solutions or a call to action, even though the reason men have those problems is usually other men.

Young. Hispanic. Woman. Pretty much the combination of all things reactionaries hate. Also she relates to the youth, talks about memes and video games without sounding Totally Radical, a super rare quality to have for politicians.
