Maybe the fabled Capcom vs Capcom is actually going to happen
Capcom Fighting Evolution doesn't count
Uni catDemitri in a 3-D game? Not likely.
I doubt theyd say new challenger if it was a rehash of all their old stuff.
And yet all the footage we could see through those filters looked like their old sprite-based games.
My speculations is a retro collection from Capcom is coming.
Do we really not have a Capcom thread to discuss this kind of thing?
Yea, that's so unbelievably stupid that we are in it.
They don't have to animate him frame by frame anymore. It's not like they couldn't make his vampire/demon form into an alt outfit or an install move.
I think the problem is Midnight Bliss.
Niitsuma had hinted that was why Demitri couldn't be in MVC 3, but I don't know if that means he can't be used ever. That just probably means they were aware Disney wasn't gonna go for having Midnight Bliss used on their characters.
In a hypothetical Capcom vs. Capcom, I don't think that'd be a problem.
Anyway, the rumor is the announcement is for some sort of plug and play collection board like the recent Neo Geo Mini. Rumor is that it's gonna be an arcade-style keyboard loaded with old Capcom games.

The problem isn't just who the victims of Midnight Bliss would be, it's that custom assets like those required for it to function as it did back in the sprite based days just don't happen in 3-D fighting games - drawing a tiny handful of new sprites is a lot easier than rigging brand new models for every member of the cast that will only be used for a visual gag.
I think that's why Demitri has never been in a 3-D Capcom fighting game despite both his popularity and appearances in two sprite based crossovers otherwise.

Oh.
Well.
Hey. The Power Battle is on something. Cool.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireAh, they're trying to cash in on the same audience NES Classic and similar add-ons are.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Alien vs Predator? That's unexpected.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Meh, no Vampire Savior?
Arcade1up announced at E3 they'll be releasing X-Men: Children of the Atom and Marvel Super Heroes as a special cabinet.
I'm genuinely surprised Marvel and Capcom were willing to license out the games for a rerelease.

I want to think that it's a clue we're getting a "Marvel games by Capcom" super compilation later down the line.
...But I know it's still a pipe dream.
Jeebus Christmas. That would have been nice.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireKeep in mind it all would have been nickle and dimed DLC like in Street Fighter V.
61 characters...
Man, why did it look so bland, ergo causing everyone to lose their minds...?
Max got the new Arcade1UP machine and he says he thinks the fact that those games are being re-released at all is a hopeful sign, because it means at the very least Capcom and Marvel are still talking and sorted out the licensing to get them out there even after the failure of Infinite. He compares it to the radio silence after Ultimate MVC 3 and how they basically abandoned the franchise for another 5 years after the MVC: Origins release. At the very least he said the guys behind the release were broadly hinting more of the old games could see a new release if this does well.

Unless V did something drastically different from the norm then that doesn't sound all that different what KI & DOA is doing.

I can blame the FGC as much as I want, but as far I'm concern Marvel & Capcom are even more guilty.
I'll guess we'll know if those rumors are true this upcoming weekend.
Yeah if something is coming we’ll definitely know soon at least. I think the fact this dev kit wasn’t supposed to be shown off at all and Champ explicitly wasn’t supposed to say much about it and the files for awhile, then just randomly did it on stream may be another hint something is coming. ^^
I’m grasping at straws but eh, a Mv C 4 with like, at least all the content that was supposed to be in Infinite would be cool, even just the rumored season 2 would have been great additions that would’ve added some variety to the roster.
I do find it interesting how Mv CI and DB Fz have kind of developed the complete opposite general reception in the long run, bit positive and negative.
Fighterz made an amazing first impression and it’s presentation and content are still praised but, I see more and more people criticizing the gameplay over time (I still absolutely love the game), where as Mv CI died in the public eye because of its bad first impression and presentation, with a big criticism being it’s lack of or just lackluster in every area content, yet the gameplay is still praised to the point it still has a small, but dedicated player base to this day.
It’s just, ironic I guess
I’d like to see a proper Mv C 4 especially with Ultimate Alliance 3 proving Marvel is willing to put the mutants front and center again, but what would be the ideal time to announce such a thing?
We're in the era of trailers for trailers.
