I notice that there seem to be In-Universe examples of this trope, so maybe one could restore it under a In-Universe Examples Only proviso.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSounds good to me.

Hum. Assembled a list of examples marked In-Universe on Sandbox.Freud Was Right but they appear pretty poor to me. I think there may be more crosswicks that could be used, as well as examples from blanked subpages which weren't cut - I didn't find anything useful in the deleted pages.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAdded some material to Freud Was Right - can someone go over it?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanLooked at the sandbox, and it looks good so far!
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportNot sure the Dr. Strangelove examples actually count as in-universe—at least not all of them. A little dubious about some of the other examples, but I'm not sure enough yet to offer specifics.
There's also quite a few ZCEs.

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Yes, that sandbox needs quite a bit of cleaning before it's ready for prime time.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI've performed some cleaning, mostly to remove all examples that are not references. Can somone go over the remaining ones?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanPinging ~Xtifr, ~Berrenta and ~Theatre_Maven_3695 to see what the sandbox is worth now.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWhen you commented out the ZCEs, you left a bunch of their attached quotes behind. I fixed some of them (and adjusted some of the indentation) up through the Music folder, but I haven't gotten past that.
Under Dr. Strangelove: I'm dubious about the one about the character named Bat Guano thinking everything is some kind of "preversion". And the one about sexual meaningful names lists Jack D. Ripper, which isn't sexually meaningful. But I may be getting too picky; those may be close enough.
Under Webcomics, I don't think the Bittersweet Candy Bowl example fits. Merely wanting to check out your "new" equipment when you've swapped bodies/genders isn't exactly Freudian, I don't think. Though it's worth a second opinion.
The Web Originals folder looks like it may have some dangling quotations like I mentioned above.
Otherwise, looking very good indeed.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Removed these and fixed some dangling quotes. Is there any opposition overall to make an IUEO trope?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanNo objections here.
As for the sandbox, the Doctor Who example appears to be left hanging. I'll fix it.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportAdded the example list in. Wondering if we should go the whole yard and change the wicks as well. Then pull the page from Audience Reactions.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSounds good. A trope can't be both IUEO and an Audience Reaction (and in fact a leading cause of IUEO motions seems to be ARs going south in terms of controversy/Content Policy violations.)

Cleaned up wicks A-B and Y-Z. Still over 1800 to go, can someone help?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAbout Dr. Strangelove
The one about "Bat Guano" is a valid example, he immediately assumes that All Men Are Perverts and says so in every conversation Right off the bat [...] " I think you're some kind of deviated prevert. I think General Ripper found out about your preversion, and that you were organizing some kind of mutiny of preverts"
The one about Jack D. Ripper is more oblique, obviously Kubrick is alluding to Jack the Ripper and leaning on his well known predation on sexual workers, you could say it's intentional (invoked) but the in-universe aspect is arguable, so that's ok.
All Men Are Perverts is not a Freudian thing. It's many centuries older. Freud thought we were all subconsciously obsessed with sex (and poop). But being obsessed with sex is not (necessarily) the same thing as being a "prevert".
A heterosexual man wanting to see ladies' bottoms is not Freudian. A heterosexual man who likes drawing things shaped like penises is.
As for Jack—I seriously doubt Kubrick intended anything other than "serial killer" by the name.

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.C and X is done as well. Wondering if we have pages for Sexual Symbolism, Phallic Symbolism and Coitus Symbolism seeing as a lot of potholes and examples are about these.

This trope was locked and sectionectomied back in 2012, yet the Image Links page still exists (and is unlocked to boot). Something should be done, methinks. I'm thinking either allow examples (but keep the lock to satisfy the bluenoses), or kill the Image Links subpage. Thoughts?
