Patrick was happy that Seawell was feeling okay now.
The Nuckelavee
By now, enough was enough. Having grown sick and tired of this lizardman thinking it could be a hero, and with a damned kelpie which smelled and sounded very familiar, the Nuckelavee refused to hold back any longer.
The horse part responded to the attack by the kelpie swinging around, taking the attacks as it sprayed a mass of toxic fumes all around itself, creating a virtual fog. The human part began to jerk and twitch violently, spasming in all different directions incredibly fast as it used its monstrously long arms again, this time bringing its head down so that both arms could now reach the lizard. They shot up at blinding speeds, aiming to simply rip the legs and arms off it as it began to exude toxic breath from its human mouth, forcing it opening as it wailed.
Frankly, cutting off its air supply was never going to work. It had two heads, and for that matter, was one of the Fair Folk. If a simple creature such as this thought itself capable, no, had the sheer, disgusting gall to think itself worthy of even touching him, and to prevent him from killing some children, it would suffer indeed as the air become a toxic nightmare. The Nuckelavee's breath could make any living creature lethally ill, no matter what it was. The rampages of old caused famine on the Orkney islands.
This lizard had no idea what it was up against. And as for the kelpie....
"Maia," a male voice choked out of the ever expanding mist. "Maia. Uncle's......here...."

"Okay" Seawell said kindly. "Just be sure not to leave the video on in a loop, because I don't know what would happen if you stayed relaxed too long" he explained. "Also, umm, do you mind if I wait until the paramedics arrive? I just want to be sure I leave you in good hands."
Picnic
"Carajo!" Lagarto swore; not only his tactic hadn't worked, the thing had seemingly gone berserk. It was swinging its claws and spewing toxic fumes all around, and he still wasn't sure if he could resist them. He decided not to chance it, so he let go and rolled over the horse-body's back, doing a fantastic dismount (if he said so himself
) in the process. As he did, tho, he wrapped his tail around the monster's posterior legs and yanked with all his power. "See you next fall, Senor!"

Cornelia chuckled a bit embarassed "Uhh, don't be upset but I didn't call them really, I... kinda forgot over all this mess here. And I mean I'm finally upstairs now after all." The Centauress looked away a bit unsure "Do you really think its neccessary?"

"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives"Patrick coughed. "Hey, uh, right here, waiting to help out...."
The Nuckelavee
The Nuckelavee budged, but just a bit. He slammed his foot down onto the ground, planting it firmly before he struck out with his back hoof, aiming to break some bones as he twirled around, snapping with his horse mouth.
Please allow me to introduce myself, I am a man of wealth and taste. Nice to meet you, hope you can guess my name. The Road, Maia
The kelpie seemed unaffected by the poison fumes. The Nucklavee had forgotten that it was a member of the Fair Folk too. It was neither living nor dead, and it was drenched in the blood of many.
As for the voice in the mist? This wasn't Maia. This was the kelpie. Why should it care if he's her uncle or not?
She had eaten her close family. Maybe it was time she started on the extended.
The lizard man was doing close to nothing, so she decided to help him out. Maybe, if they beat this guy, she wouldn't eat him. Maybe. The kelpie struck at the horse's head, becoming a large blue wolf that clawed and bit, before doing the same to the horse's legs.
[TOP SECRET]Cornelia's
(Note: Seawell and Patrick already helped Cornelia climb upstairs.)
"You haven't called for help yet?" Seawell gasped. "I'm sorry, but you must have that leg looked into." And he dialed an emergency care number on his Iphone.
"OK they should be here soon. Do you want me to stay here until then?" he asked.
"...I can stay with her" a voice said. It was the green slime girl! She had climbed up the stairs, sliming them up again in the process. Seawell noticed a slight burning smell. He realized her slime was eating through the wood! "Err, sure" he quickly said, then dashed downstairs. He found a mop, a bucket, a faucet and most importantly, cleaner that was clearly labeled as alkaline. He proceeded to begin cleaning off the slime with it; as he hoped the alkalinity countered the acidity of the slime safely.
Picnic
"OOF!" Lagarto exhaled as the Nucklavee's back-kick knocked the wind out of him. He was lucky; an human would have had his rib cage pulverized. Damn this monster is strong, he realized. But he had the advantage in speed and flexibility. He decided to hang back for a moment, out of reach, while he recovered, and give the Kelpie a chance to deal with it in the meantime.
Patrick took a step back, surprised to see a smile girl. He blinked at it. "Uh....hi?" he waved nervously.
The Nuckelavee
With the lizard gone, the Nuckelavee quickly turned his attention back to the kelpie. He raised himself back on his hind legs, roaring, and brought them straight down on Maia, laughing. He wondered if she remembered their days together, riding?
Ah well. Perhaps he could force her to understand her true nature, as he himself had? Make her embrace it.
But first, he had to subdue her.
Please allow me to introduce myself, I am a man of wealth and taste. Nice to meet you, hope you can guess my name.Road, The Kelpie
Maia wasn't present right now. All there was was the kelpie, the bane of San Lorenzo's rivers. And there was only one way to subdue a kelpie. The kelpie didn't dodge, but once again changed into streams of water that avoided the blow, and then became so thin around the edges as to be sharp, and whirled around the fore and hind legs, cutting at the flesh.
[TOP SECRET]I know, that's why its in the location header and why she mentioned it :P
San Lorenzo, Cornelia's Store, 1st Floor
Cornelia wanted to stop Seawell, but he already started cleaning. She really would have to do something about all this later. In the end she only managed a shrug "I can't force anyone of you out" She chuckled lightly "Like, literally I can't at the moment. But in any case, if you want to stay you can."
"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives"((That clarification was for Vampire's sake
))
Cornelia's
"You don't understand" the Faun explained. "Slime girl's (points at Sammy) trail is eating through your wooden floors! Its apparently highly acidic. Fortunately, this brand of cleaning fluid (holds up bottle) seems to neutralize it quickly. You might want to keep the floor dipped in it."
"...Thank you" Sammy smiled. At least, it looked like she was smiling. Hard to tell when you look like you are made of green jell-o.
As soon as he was finished, Seawell put the cleaning implements away, then he addressed all present: "Once again, thanks to all of you for your help, and I guess I don't have anything else to do now, so, time to go!" He smiled sheepishly. "Miss Cornelia, I'll return the shirt I borrowed another time. Hope you heal fast. Be well!" he bowed, then exited the shop, if not exactly running, then walking very briskly.
Picnic
Lagarto watched the monster battle fascinated. That shapeshifter was something else! If only he could help her. But the only thing he could think of doing right now would be-
-UGH. No, not that. Especially not against this foe.
So he did the only other thing he could think of doing for the moment: cheering.
WOO! YOU GO GIRL!! (jumps into the air)
Cornelia's Shop
Hildegard nodded at Cornelia.
"We'll be going. If you need to contact us again, we're in the phone book."
Highway
As they walked home, Hildegard avoided looking directly at Sloane.
"You seem on edge," Sloane commented. "More than usual, I mean."
Hildegard bristled. "That's absurd. Wait, what do you mean, "more than usual"?"
"You're not exactly known for your calm demeanor. Did the video not work right or something?"
It worked too well, Hildegard thought. She didn't want to say that out loud, and she didn't want to admit that it wasn't the video that made her nervous. Sloane would probably think it was stupid; who got upset over being thanked?
In the distance, there were sounds of fighting, interspersed with - was that neighing?
"We should check that out," she said. She ran towards it. Anything to get out of this awkward conversation. Sloane followed her, but at least she had stopped asking questions Hildegard wouldn't (couldn't) answer.
Sloane dragged her into an alley. "What are those things?"
"Myrna probably knows," Hildegard said. "Call her. I'll make sure the civilians get to safety while the monsters are distracted."
Sloane dialed the number as Hildegard ran into danger.
"Hey, Myrna? We've got a couple of demonic horse things and some kind of lizard thing fighting. I'll send you a picture."
Patrick shrugged. "Um....I'm going to have to get going soon. Need me to do anything else?"
The horse was pacing, irritated. It didn;t like the presence it felt.
The Nuckelavee
The Nuckelavee took next to no damage, being a monster from the sea, of course. However, this kelpie was proving very annoying. He should have killed her when he was still human, in hindsight. He began to look around for anything to use to drive her back, some iron maybe....
Ah. A golden collar, discarded. Perfect. Roaring, he slammed his claws into the ground, scooping up masses of dirt and rock, and began chucking them at the school children, rushing towards them, but also heading for the golden collar.
He had caught sight of two human women, one taking a picture of him. Good. Let the city know that death had come for them all today. They were in his way of the ocean, of home. For that, every single one would pay dearly.

San Lorenzo, Cornelia's Shop, 1st Floor
Seein most pepole either leave or getting ready to she shook her head towards Patrick "Nein, I mean if you want you can stay." She chuckled slightly, jokingly adding "Err, I mean I won't be able to propely service you at the moment if you were looking for weapons or armor."
"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives"Road, Kelpie
The kelpie became occupied with protecting the children, blocking the rocks and the dirt by collecting in streams of water that then deposited it elsewhere. Seeing the Nucklaveeget closer to the children, she doubled her efforts, trying a different tactic. The blue wolf ran at the Nucklavee, enraged enough to ignore the obvious trap. She snapped at the legs of the horse-part, biting at the joints. If she got there.
[TOP SECRET]Cornelia's shop
Patrick thought about it for a few seconds. "Actually, I wouldn't mind having a look around, see what you have to offer. Is that okay?"
The Road
The Nuckelavee struck in that instant, swing around with the collar and slamming it against the kelpie. He hissed as he kicked out, about to savour his victory.
Please allow me to introduce myself, I am a man of wealth and taste. Nice to meet you, hope you can guess my name. The Road
"The equines fighting are a kelpie and a nuckelavee," Myrna exposited over the phone. "They're both of the Fair Folk and they're both very dangerous. Nuckelavees in particular are known for being carnivorous."
"Yeesh," Sloane said. "Fairy horses are way less pretty than you'd think. They have the typical fairy weaknesses, right?"
"Yes. Considering Hildegard left her crossbow at home, you'll have to improvise. But you said they're fighting each other? In that case, best to let them tire each other out."
"What about the other one?"
"El Lagarto Verde. He's a chupacabra wrestler on the underground monster circuit. Fairly popular, too."
"And now he's trying to be a superhero. I can respect that."
Road
"Oh no!" was Lagarto's reaction upon seeing the shower of debris. Fortunately, the shapeshifter blocked it.
Still, it was obvious that the whatever-it-is was hellbent on attacking the picnickers, for some reason. What was wrong with it? Was it a serial killer before being transformed? Whatever, it had to be taken down!
The reptile looked around, searching for anything he could use as a weapon. The only thing in sight, however, was a rusty road sign that read, "San Lorenzo, 3 miles ahead".
Lagarto grumbled. It would have to do.
Ripping the pole off the ground with barely any effort, he took aim, then sprang over ten feet in the air and landed a blow on the human head, with enough force to crack a skull: BONG!
He was, ironically, unaware that he had chosen the perfect weapon to use against a Fey creature.
Road, Maia
The collar latched around the kelpie's neck, and unable to dodge, Maia was sent flying. The bloodthirst drained from her eyes, until the kelpie vanished and there was just Maia. Still in wolf form, of course. The wolf, battered and bruised, stood back up, slowly, watching the battle. She limped to stand between the Nucklavee and the bus.
And howled, a challenging howl mixed with a hint of the wild.
The kelpie and Maia stood united. Nowhere near as strong, or fast, and without the ability to shapeshift, they would protect these children.
[TOP SECRET]The Nuckelavee
The thing about Nuckelavees was that, while Fair Folk, he was so far disconnected with them, that most of the ordinary weaknesses weren't as dangerous to him, and his already formidable endurance and toughness meant that he would not have much of a wound.
However, the iron still stung like a bitch. Coupled with the force of the blow...
The beast roared, clutching his human head in one hand as the horse turned, snarling and braying, to face the lizard man. A slight, burning wound was developing, but the head's sheer size meant it wasn't much of a problem, and had absorbed some of the impact. It was still hurting, though. It began to race at him, intent on running him down, spewing black toxic and disease-spreading fumes. If it had to use mortasheen, it would.
The human head rolled about on the shoulders, before focusing on Maia, making eye contact. "Maia.....uncle....Robert....missed you....." he breathed aloud. "Remember.....ranch....riding?"

Maia blinked. That was her uncle Robert? Who had attacked her? Who was attacking children? She howled, unable to speak in her current form, and nodded her head solemnly. There was a spark of recognition in her eyes. But she took a step towards the Nucklavee, making it clear that she would fight him.
She pawed at the collar, wincing where the gold stung against her neck, the bits that were unprotected by the fur.
[TOP SECRET]After striking, Lagarto landed a few feet away, iron pole still in hand (and slightly bent); he was not surprised to see that the Nuckelavee was just slightly hurt. But at least it was charging at him now.
"YEAH! Come at me, bro!" he shouted, and away from the children!
Then someone shouted at him. He looked. It was some woman. A cheering fan? No wait, she was armed! Looked like a Hunter. Uh oh. But wait, she was saying something about aiming at its legs? Yeah, that makes sense! Maybe they were on the same side. For now, anyway.
He held his ground as the monster came, roaring and smoking like a train engine from Hell. Uno. Dos. Tres. NOW!
He tuck-and-rolled right away from the Nucklavee's charge. You may be though as a rhino, Senor, but I'm as fast as a Monkey! he smiled.
He rolled to a stand behind the fae-centaur and struck at it again, this time batting on the kneecaps on the left side of its body with the pole. Fall, damn you, FALL!
Then he heard a howling from behind him. He looked and saw the kelpie. Something was wrong with her. Did the other horse do something to her? Hey wait, was it wearing that golden thing around its neck before? Considering how it was trying to take it off, probably not.
Dropping the seemingly useless pole, he ran over to her, and ripped the collar open.

The Nuckelavee'
Sadly, the lizard was never getting away that easily. The Nuckelavee quickly swung around, and struck out, slamming his claws right into him, but not after he had gotten to the Kelpie. However, the Nuckelavee would use that to his advantage, shoving the the lizard into the kelpie in an attempt to enrage her. He had sensed her bloodlust from earlier, and if needed, he could always use the pieces of gold as weapons against her. Given the claws and sheer strength he had, it knew this time, he would hurt him. And by hurt him, he meant actually break bones. Legs, tail bones, it didn't matter, as long as it broke, he was happy.
The iron had burned, but it was tolerable, nothing serious. He instead began walking over to Maia. "Stay.....Maia.....sweet.....sweet....Maia......" He hissed at her as he started to simply move past her. "Uncle....Robert....." He hissed, keeping eye contact, "disappointed..."
