Move to F26 and attack Hode-skall 42.

Sophia could no doubt see to her own wounds, and nobody else seemed to need immediate treatment, so Astra flew to one of the slits used to fire arrows at invaders, firing a blast of light through at the soldier within.

Move to K25 and attack Hodeskall 39 with Divine Tome. If performed and Hodeskall 39 is not dead, attack him again with Divine tome. If performed and Hodeskall 39 is dead, move to G27 and prepare Heal Staff for any adjacent ally missing over 15 HP.

Another soldier fell to her baleful spell. She turned to the heavily armored rider, who seemed to be leading the soldiers outside the gate. He would be her next target.

Move to F27 and Abyss tome Hodeskall 42. If Hodeskall 42 is dead, defend.

Recommending that Malia takes her turn before everyone else, moving to J27, obtaining Amystra’s Pure Water if Amystra is to attack Hodeskall 42 this turn and performing a Dance of Stamina for Astra.

Osroes and Rsama plough into the armoured rider and horse just as the last of the trees hiding them falls – and yet their spear-focussed charge only scratches the plate. That said, disoriented from his and Astra’s strikes, the two practically stumble away.

An orange glow barely passes into Osroes’ peripheral vision, limited by his helmet as it is. Taking a moment to investigate before guiding his companion to pursuit, he sees a blue-cloaked woman, the armour-piercing spear formerly carried by one of the Regish horsemen in her hand as the dying embers of a fiery conjuration flicker across that horseman’s prone form. An ally, then? “I know not your name, Mi- ah, Ligh-” he shakes his head, trying to get things in order - “Anima mage; may I have it?” He glances rightwards. “Along with that weapon, for a moment?”

Osroes takes his turn after Amystra but before Railen. If Amystra has traded the Heavy Spear to him and Hodeskall 42 is not defeated by her turn's end, he moves to I27, gives the Elixir to Malia, continues to E25 and attacks Hodeskall 42 with the Heavy Spear. He otherwise defends.

If the dude, by some miracle, is still alive by the time the others have gone and Vera's turn is up, then move to E28 and attack Hodeskall 42 with Anima Bow. Otherwise, move to F25 and prepare attack with Greatbow.

Those arrows certainly hurt; fortunately they hadn't been lethal, though, so Astra could go join the others by the massive stone slabs the locals seemed to think were doors.

Move to G26 and heal self with Heal Staff.

Once Red Gate is open: Move to G22 and prepare an attack with Chakram for range.

Once the gate is open, move to F22 and prepare an attack with the Greatbow.

Recommending that after Osroes' turn Malia moves to F27, takes Osroes' Vulnerary and performs a Dance of Stamina for Osroes.

Osroes watches as the mage, focus apparently elsewhere, steps towards the armoured rider. He raises his hand - just as she unleashes a tide of dark energy.

Ah.

Downcast, Osroes barely notices as he receives a Vulnerary, unstoppers it and drinks.

Then, out of the corner of his eye, he sees motion - Malia, weaving her dance. He feels a surge of energy run through him; Rsama, seemingly ever so slightly surprised, stands a little taller. Osroes breathes, then nods to her with a chain-veiled smile.

So it is that as the stone gate slides open, the two are some of the first unto the breach.

Osroes moves to G27, trades his Elixir for Astra's Vulnerary and drinks from the Vulnerary. After being danced, he waits for the door to be opened; then he moves to G23 and prepares an attack with the Longbow.

The masked swordsman had been heavily wounded almost immediately after the doors opened, so Astra started looking for an opportunity to heal him.

If it becomes possible to move adjacent to Railen: Do so (preference for whichever space blocks the fewest allied attacks) and heal him with Heal Staff. Otherwise, move to F23 and attack Hodeskall 38 with Divine Tome.

Recommending that Malia moves to H26, trades her Light Axe for Brendan's Halberd, performs a Dance of Stamina for Sophia and continues to F25.

As Rsama's hooves clatter against the stone, wings expertly balancing him as he takes a turn far sharper than any horse could take on the polished surface, Osroes readies a bow - not his own but one of the northern varieties, used primarily by footsoldiers - and several arrows. He picks a target: the axe-wielder, a leader from the look of the garb.

Then he looses. And draws. And looses. And draws. And looses.

The Parni jerks to one side, wincing as a throwing axe glances off his armour, and discharges one final arrow. As it embeds itself in flesh alongside its companions the warrior finally succumbs, falling to the ground. Grinning in spite of himself, Osroes calls back: “Hey, Vera! How was tha-”

Peace, fulfilment, stillness…

Focus. He shakes off the familiar feeling, then looks down to the mage who caused it, standing bravely before him despite clear injury.

Osroes feels warm conviction as he takes up his spear.

If Malia does not already have it, Osroes discards the Vulnerary in favour of the Violet Rune. If Hodeskall 38 dies at any point during the round, Osroes moves to L23 (or M22 if Railen is also attacking Hodeskall 29) and attacks Hodeskall 29 with the Killer Lance. Otherwise, he moves to I23 or H22 (in that order of preference) if he is able to and, regardless, attacks Hodeskall 38 with the Killer Lance.

Brendan nods at the quartermaster in thanks.

"Hey, sorry for spacing out back there. I'm ready to roll one more!"

He dashes off.

If available, trade Halberd for Malia's Light Axe; Then move to F24.

Amystra moves to H22 and attacks Hodeskall 38 with a Fire tome. If HS 38 is dead, she attacks Hodeskall 41 with her Fire tome. If 41 is dead, she attacks 28 with an Abyss tome.

Vera was so surprised by the mage taking Railen's chakram and still remaining standing that she distractedly missed the first shot she tried to quickly target him with. Regardless, he looked like he had already taken enough of a beating to die twice over, so a single hit from the veritable tree trunks her greatbow fired would undoubtedly be enough to down him. In fact, Vera almost felt sorry for the man, because seeing such a weakling get skewered by it only - oooookay he was somehow still standing.

Were the Vissan using faceless or zombies of some sort here?

She shook her head, clearing her thoughts. Even zombies died eventually.

If Hodeskall 38 is STILL alive, move to F23 and attack him with Greatbow. Else if Hodeskall 28 is still alive, move to G21 and attack him with Anime Bow. Else if Hodeskall 29 is alive, move to L22 and attack him with shortbow. And then if they're all dead, then just go to K22 and attack Hodeskall 40 with shortbow.

Move to J23 and attack Hode-skall 40 with Shamshir.

This hallway had almost been cleared out; however, now the armored pegasus rider was starting to get worn down by all the enemies. Fixing that would be a good idea... but as Astra passed by one of the arrow slits, they could just barely see a door on the other side, and found themself wondering what was on the other side.

If Sophia lends Astra the Twilight Crown: Use Twilight Crown to teleport to E13, then open the chest; if Stamina'd, subsequently move to F13 and open the other chest.

If Sophia is unwilling to trade: Move to L22 and heal Osroes with Heal Staff.

Move to P23 and attack Hode-skall 40.

One enemy left. Amystra made a waving motion at Osroes, acknowledging his comment, but she'd respond when they were not on a battlefield.

On the stunningly unlikely chance Railen fails to kill Hodeskall 40, Amystra moves to M23 and attacks Hodeskall 40. Otherwise, she moves to L22 and defends.

And then the mage is immolated. The woman from before – the dark mage – steps forward and delivers a fiery blast that drains the remaining strength from his physical form, releasing him unto radiance.

With a momentary bow of his head to honour his bravery and wish him swift deliverance, Osroes urges Rsama on past the warrior, noting Amystra's acknowledgement for later. The pegaz only hastens his charge, beating his wings a single time to leap the dying embers and landing at a pounding gallop, while Osroes levels his lance at the spearman beyond. Typically, of course, this would be a bad idea – a spear-wielder may brace their weapon and strike at a mount before the soldier atop them can hope to retaliate – but the cataphract’s lance is long, their mount clad head to toe in protective mail. No single spearman will stop them.

So believes Osroes.

The Regish spear scores along – pierces – Parni metal. It cuts into Rsama’s side, leaving a bloody gash, before rearing up as the two collide with the soldier, striking Osroes in the arm.

The rider barely notices as Railen’s strike finishes his opponent off; instead he dismounts rapidly, seeking out his friend’s wound as he stamps at the ground, whinnying in pain. “Oh, no, no, no no no no…” Panicked, his own injury and the vulnerary that might heal them both forgotten, he stumbles shakily back, calling: “Please, someone! I need help here, please!”

From the corner of his eye, he sees a hand reach up to the arrowslit from the other side of the wall; not caring whose, he practically tears the rune from his first adversary’s body and pushes it away in a surge of motion before rushing on. It comes away red.

Osroes moves to I21, passes Harker the Violet Rune and continues to I23.

Recommending that Malia moves to H23, gives Osroes the Yellow Rune (which I don't intend to trade to the Rangers just yet), continues to F23, obtains the Elixir and Pure Water from Astra, trades Astra's Heal Staff for her Halberd and performs a Dance of Stamina for Astra.
