Word of God says the show's been canceled.

I guess HBO Max didn't get the rights to the show.

Huh? WarnerMedia (owner of HBO and CN) does have the rights to it, but is choosing to not order any more episodes.

There may be a possibility of shopping it around to other networks, but that's really a long shot. I suppose we're lucky something this weird got produced at all.

People have been using the production crew's yearbook as evidence, since it has "2017-2020" on the front. It isn't wrong, since production did stop around that time, but it also doesn't impede HBO Max from renewing it.

Whether they actually do it, though....

Dennis has been retweeting posts encouraging people to support the show, so I guess the cancellation is not set in stone yet?

Exactly my point. I don't have high hopes, but it's not any more cancelled today than it was last month.

Kidscreen claims they've talked to a Cartoon Network spokesperson and were told the show isn't canceled.

Kidscreen's a pretty reputable news outlet for kid/family-related media industry news, so I don't doubt their claim. However, this could just mean that the show is on "indefinite hiatus".

Yeah, "indefinite hiatus" is the state of most shows we usually considered cancelled. So, nothing has changed at this time.

I just finished re-watching Book 3. Excellent news!

Also, a description from the press release:

"Two old friends must explore the inner puzzles of the Infinity Train - and their relationship - in order to return home, together."

Two old friend huh?

I think they mean the characters are old friends, not that they're characters we already know.

Well TBH, unless Infinity Train decides to break the pattern we've seen, one of them will be Amelia (plus the Hazel plot is unresolved). This has a lot of potential because Amelia's friend won't have seen her for decades, and would likely assume that she's dead. This feels like a generally good time to explore the consequences of people on the train being gone so long.

I think these characters will be brand new. I don't think we'll jump in to Amelia as a full-on protagonist just yet.

This is the first time an official outlet had to give the news that something wasnt cancelled. I for one am super happy about this.
