As for cable-as-we-know-it, I don't know. Disney is discontinuing the Disney Channel in the UK. I don't expect that in the US for a while, but I think it's coming.
I strongly suspect the target demographic for kids channels has largely switched to streaming and other online viewing, not cable. CN has already had show premieres on its app, not the channel itself.

Episodes 6-8 are out. Wow, Simon is quite the cult member.
Any bets on Hazel being Amelia's hypothetical daughter?
Edited by Kayeka on Aug 21st 2020 at 6:53:26 PM
Um, isn't that sorta confirmed as she was created by Amelia?
She doesn't recall why she made Hazel. However given that she ended up with Amelia's number and Amelia specifically said she was TRYING to create Alrick, her basically being her artificial daughter makes the most sense.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I thought Simon would go deeper than he did...
Oh well.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.At least he didn’t went Cube levels of deep.
[Shudder] The fact this season makes me think of it as being a Kiddy Version of Cube makes my skin crawl.
Don't Judge me, need more views: https://www.deviantart.com/big-k-2011 | https://bigk1337.newgrounds.com/ | https://twitter.com/BigK64133I dunno. On the one hand series is intense and really fascinating, with deep lore and great drama.
On the other hand...
Book 3 is so mean-spirited and filled with so much negative emotions I personally can't enjoy this series anyore.
I'm ambivalent.
There's a difference between "Mean-Spirited" and "Dark" Book 3 is much darker than the other two seasons, I'll grant you. But none of what the main characters are going through is made light of. When Tuba dies, it has weight. Simon's mental breakdown is taken seriously. The only one who doesn't take the kid's problems seriously is Amelia, but Amelia is not meant to be the best person either.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. You didnt say anything about the writers saying that the characters ARE NOT anarchists.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I never saw direct quote of them saying that.
And "anarchist-coded" is different than "they are literally anarchists", for that matter.
Yeah, Amelia is my biggest problem, but - paradoxically - I like her attitude in Crossed The Line Twice manner. I mean "mean-spirited" in meta level, Book 3 is just plain too dark for me to care.
And yes, I know it's very subjective, however I can't help but see this as screewritter being plain sadistic to characters for sake of dark, intense drama. Which isn't bad in and of itself, but former Books had better balance between lighter and softer moments and... this, in my humble opinion.

Which character is this season being unnecessarily sadistic to?
That comment confuses this person.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Uhm, nearly all of them? For example Hazel being treated horribly by everyone (minus Tuba and she was murdered), especially her mother, Amelia? Even Grace yelling at her and calling her null in last episode after admittedly sweet bonding earlier which was one of the many examples of Yank the Dog's Chain in Book 3.
I know, I know, in finale most of this gonna be resolved in probably Bittersweet Ending manner, but for know Book 3 is just emotionally exhausting without proper payoff or balance.
For me, at least.
Hmm, exaggeration is detected.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. It's probably matter of individual sensitivity, but I'd love to read proper counter-arguments.
Yeah, I wish I could do that.
But if that's the case, nothing I'd say would really work out.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Well, different perspectives are always valuable and welcomed.
I mean, Jesus H. Christ, Hazel is ten-years-old. I'm watching a small child forced to travel with sociopath who murdered her best friend and parental figure, forced to hiding her emotion and true nature in fear of being his next victim, her new parental figure being manipulative gaslighter with equally huge problems with herself and her true mother/creator don't even recognise her as living being, much less her own child.
This isn't cartoon for children, it's screwed up David-Cronenbergesque nightmare.

I'm seriously concerned about whether there's going to be a Season 4. We need to start a concentrated movement to get the show renewed.
Maybe it’s because I’m a masochist, but (spoilers for episode 9 and 10): I felt for Simon in the end. He was definitely a frustrating character, where I saw that he was terribly hurt in the beginning and in pain, I saw his capacity to be a decent person and if he had just let go of his ego and hatred, then he would’ve gotten better. But instead, he basically causes his own death. It’s more sad than satisfying.
I haven't hated a character like Simon in a long time. Seeing him die screaming was cathartic. not very fond of Grace or the lack of resolution with Hazel either, TBH.
Is CN in financial trouble?
