Hey, Existential, sorry for the long wait. As Sutt mentioned, my personal life got real complicated for a hot minute there, and I had to take some time away from the game. Fortunately, he also managed to guess the correct answers to your questions. Yes, a laguz would automatically switch to whichever weapon was usable in its current form upon transforming, no, Quick Draw would not auto-transform, and yes, Trample requires beast form.

Now, on to your sign up. Backstory looks fine, although the party is headed for Kambacha next, which is about as far from Reginbor as they could be. However, our most recent addition to the company before you hails from Murinor, which is near Reginbor, shares ancestral ties with Reginbor, and the character in question is also a laguz. What do you think of Inuksuk having attached himself to Crystal Memoria's character as a bodyguard on her quest to find help for her village? You were camped outside of town while Milliana went into the town for supplies when the fighting broke out, and have just tracked her down to the inn where everyone is settling in for the evening.

Now, mechanically, everything is in order, although I will warn you that running with low HP and no defense or resistance is a very, very risky prospect. You'll be entering the game at level 10. These are your entry level ups:

  • Level 2
    • Eligible Stats: HP, Str, Skl, Spd, Lck
  • Level 3
    • Eligible Stats: Str, Skl, Spd, Lck, Def

That's fine; my motto has always been 'real life comes first' in these situations, so you have my support and empathy!

Regarding the backstory, latching onto a stranger (though probably not so much 'bodyguard' as 'informally protective companion, scout and hunter') for no other reason than to give himself some sort of purpose seems like exactly the sort of thing that Inuksuk as I envisioned him would do; I'll write it in. Thanks for the suggestion! In terms of his stats, meanwhile, don't worry; I do have a vague idea of what I'm doing. My plan is to treat Inuksuk like a cavalry archer and do my utmost to prevent him from being in any situation in which he might be hit in the first place. That, to my mind at least, also adds a touch of realism; as somebody who eschews armour for speed and stealth, he's going to be vulnerable to taking hits in combat. That being said, then:

  • Level 2
    • Taken: Str, Skl, Spd, Lck

  • Level 3
    • Taken: Str, Skl, Spd, Lck
    • Free Point: Mag

  • Level 4
    • Taken: HP, Skl, Spd, Lck
    • Free Point: Str
    • +1 Bow Proficiency Rank (Bow D)

  • Level 5
    • Taken: Str, Skl, Lck, Def

  • Level 6
    • Taken: HP, Str, Spd, Res

  • Level 7
    • Taken: Str, Skl, Spd, Lck

  • Level 8
    • Taken: HP, Str, Skl, Spd
    • +1 Bow Proficiency Rank (Bow C)

  • Level 9
    • Taken: HP, Str, Skl, Def
    • Free Point: Mag

  • Level 10
    • +3 HP
    • +2 Str
    • +2 Skl
    • +2 Spd
    • +2 Lck
    • +1 Movement
    • +1 Bow Proficiency Rank (Bow B)
    • Feat: Canto

As far as I can tell, that leaves me with:

  • Hit Points: 17
  • Strength: 17
  • Magic: 2
  • Skill: 17
  • Speed: 18
  • Luck: 17
  • Defence: 2
  • Resistance: 1
  • Movement: 6 (human)/7 (wolf)

I hope that all looks good! (The fact that my character has fewer Hit Points than anyone else, including the healers and magic users, has left me rather amused.) The one thing that I haven't done (as I'm sure that you've noticed) is choose a Feat at Level 10. That's because, though I am planning to choose Canto, I noticed the Feat In Plain Sight that Diane has in the Ebook and was wondering whether it's a unique Feat that only she has access to and, if not, what precisely it does.

I also just noticed something else - would it be possible to lay down a field of fire (much as I hate using the term 'fire' to refer to anything bow-related) by combining Canto, a Bow/Tome and a Prepare Attack action to ready a ranged attack targeting an area and then use Canto to move away from that area? (Probably not but it's always worth asking!)

In Plain Sight is an NPC-only feat, yes.

Levels 2-9 look good, but level 10 is wrong. You can't do +5 and +4, you can only put +2 into any one score, although you can put an additional +2 into HP on top of the automatic increase. Make that adjustment and choose your 10th level feat, and Inuksuk is approved.

And no to the field of fire thing. All movement must be done during the player phase, it can't be prepared.

Ah. Yes. Good point. Edited!

Not quite what I meant about the field of fire. I'll explain the process that I'm thinking of:

  • A character uses their Main Action to Prepare Attack with a ranged weapon, targeting a given number of spaces around them.
  • Said character then uses Canto to use their remaining movement to move away from the targeted spaces into a space from which they would not normally be able to hit the targeted spaces were they not targeted.
  • On the enemy turn, an opponent steps into the targeted spaces and is attacked by the character.

No, you can't cheese Canto and prepared attacks to extend your range beyond your weapon's normal range. :P

Ah, well! Never mind; standard skirmishing, non-reality-hacking tactics will have to do.

Edit: Actually, I should probably ask Crystal Memoria whether it's okay to write Milliana into Inuksuk's backstory. Hi! May I do so?

Another thing: I've used Norse names for Runa, Torpdalr and Ingolf because I thought it made sense for Reginbor (and I suspect that that's what you were going for anyway). Does that fit in with what has already been established about Regin culture?

Yes, Reginbor is modeled on Norse cultural aesthetics and naming conventions. I've already spoken to Crystal, and she's on board with the angle. Also, we have a discord channel for the RP if you'd like to jump in and meet everybody.

I must say that I've had difficulties with Discord in the past and I'm afraid that this time is no exception; my browser isn't letting me past the access page. That said, I'll most certainly put something up on the discussion thread!

I also love the sprites that you've come up with! The wolf form looks wonderfully majestic (though, pedant that I am, Inuksuk's eyes are green and in fact biologically can't be blue since only wolf puppy eyes are [though I suppose that Laguz biology is probably bizarre enough to justify it], something that I was surprised to learn myself), while the human form definitely captures the hunter aspect of his character.

Edit: Now that I look at them again, I realise that I might be mistaken about the eye colour and they might be green! I can't tell!

  • Name: Élisabeth "Bette" Le Tonnelier
  • Age: 37
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance: Bleached blonde hair, with twin strands of hair on either side and a large ponytail in the back, and purple eyes. Wears ridiculously oversized bronze-gold bracelets on her wrists, a band over both of her biceps, strings of silver beads wrapped around her arms, and chunks of gold and silver light armor layered over a thin black dark mage top, poofy black pants, black heeled sandals, and a purple cape.
  • Personality: An extremely positive and upbeat type of lady! She's always got a kind word to say and always has a smile on her face. Loves sewing, baking, flowers, and cute things. She lives her life full-throttle with chronic outbursts of vitality. She doesn't even let mean old grouches get her down - she just smiles right back at them... and maybe condemns them with a hellish rebuke of dark magic! She's filled with confidence and determination no matter what.
  • Background: Bette was the eighth daughter of an exceedingly old, and exceedingly minor, noble, leaving her with a relatively carefree childhood. She had too many older siblings for her parents to ever manage to get around to forcing her into an engagement, and they were sadly not noble enough for her to have any real responsibilities for her to tend to. Because of that, she found herself with plenty of time to focus on things that interested her, like books, practicing dark forbidden magics, hanging out with her friend Véronique who lived just a short ride away but thought she was annoying, baking pastries, growing herbs, learning how to kill a man with her bare hands, sewing capes, pressing flowers, and other things girls are wont to do. Then when her friend was very sad because her mom died and her dad ran away, she came over to give her a nice hot cherry pie, and they were best friends ever since and practically inseparable. Except when she gets to be a little too grating and gets in a big fight that lasts weeks at a time. But those things are boring!

Eventually her father passed away and her brother took over the family estate, who then rudely kicked her out for no good reason just because her rarely-used room in the manor's attic had caught on fire one time too many. And perhaps because she him on fire when she refused to marry a sixty-year-old merchant just to give him a smidgen of political power. It seemed like she was destined to be an old maid with no family. To occupy herself as time went on she opened up a little alchemist's shop in town in order to do legitimate business, make a living, and never secretly practiced or sold any sort of dark hexes or curses.

Then one day when she was staying over she woke up early to make some fresh pastries, and it turned out that her friend Vera had flown away in search of her father before she had even had a chance to try her apple pie. Or even have breakfast! But that was okay, she normally went away on trips for business to the capital so she was used to it. Or at least she used to, before those darned Vissans had taken over everything. She had even closed up her shop since there was the slightest chance that maybe the soldiers might mistake her for a witch and burn her at the stake, and nobody wants that. Unfortunately, the wait simply got to be unbearable, so she borrowed a Pegasus in search of them. Fortunately, it turns out that with the proper persuasion it was quite easy to track down a string of taverns where a large group that included a pair of incredibly loud older men had made a ruckus.

  • Name: Brendan Greyborn

  • Age: 26

  • Gender: Male

  • Appearance: Standing at roughly 6'0", Brendan has a tanned, but not dark complexion, a slightly broader physique than most, and short, slightly messy dark blue hair with striking hazel eyes. He wears his old soldier's uniform, which he painted a medium grey with golden highlights. His footwear is that of a soldier, and he also wears gloves so he can hold his weapons more efficiently. He has a scar of a great wound, a slash up and across his chest.

  • Personality:
    • Brendan tends to be unmotivated and appears generally lazy. However, if he has a solid reason to do something, or he is commanded to do so by his commander, that tends to be just enough motivation for him to get it done. If something interests him, he will naturally trend towards doing that.
    • Brendan seems to be slightly disillusioned from the wonderment one would have when they encounter things out of the ordinary, trading the wonder for a slightly cynical take on the world around him. This doesn't always lead to him being a grump, instead painting him as more of a Deadpan Snarker.
    • Brendan has Blood Knight tendencies, having a love for the fight and being surprisingly efficient, motivated, and more lively in battle than out. That makes him an amazing soldier, and a better sparring partner.

  • Background:
    • Brendan Greyborn was born to a relatively normal mother and father in the heart of Frael. He lived a normal life, and had an older sister and a younger brother.
    • When he was about 19, he joined the army of Frael, which his parents originally disagreed with. Eventually, he was given their blessing and went out to fight for Frael. He decided to defect when they stopped protecting the towns, but he instead relegated himself to a simple life, protecting whatever village he was in when they were attacked.
    • This life seemingly was not enough, however, so he decided to Walk the Earth and strike down Bandit factions as they come along. He eventually crosses paths with our heroes, leading to...

  • Name: Talbot Wisteria
  • Age: 18
  • Gender: Male
  • Appearance: Here, but wearing this
  • Personality:
    • Talbot is a meek, shy person. He will tend to avoid conversation and tends to look away from the person if he's forced to chat with someone. He'll often end a conversation by apologizing for wasting the other person's time. He'll even listen to orders without questioning the other person at all.
    • If you place him on a horse, things become different. He turns into a serious person who will push his horse riding skills to their peak. His emotions become subdued to the point where he doesn't express surprise at any little twist that comes his way. His friends often note he gets this personality from his father, Buford Wisteria. On that note, his apparent doormat personality was used as a trap against his opponents in the horse racing circuit many times, giving him the edge in many races.
    • He takes care of Eighty-Six, his pet horse, as if it were his brother. One of his buttons is seeing Eighty-Six get injured in combat. He'll do his best to make sure those who harm Eighty-Six get punished one way or another.
  • Background:
    • Before he became an underground professional horse racer, Talbot worked for his dad's restaurant. His job was delivering food to customers who can't make the journey to the restaurant. On each trip, his dad asked him to attach a golbet full of wine to the horse's side. If the goblet was empty when Talbot reached the customer's home, the customer gets the meal 50% off. By doing this, Talbot learned the advanced techniques needed to keep a horse steady in difficult situations. As it turns out, Buford was a professional horse racer before settling down and opening his restaurant. It seems he wanted Talbot to be his successor.
    • Despite this plan, Buford is often disappointed with Talbot and will critique him even if he did his best. To prove his point, Buford secretly entered a horse race with an ill horse and won against Talbot despite this heavy handicap. Although Talbot lost, he trained harder for the next race and won with a significant lead.
    • One day, Talbot delivered a meal to a repeat client and noticed a group of people heading on a boat to Kambacha. On a whim, he joined them, leading to his meeting with his group.

  • Name: Osroes
  • Age: 18
  • Appearance: Has an average, if somewhat muscular, build, a relatively harsh and angular face, olive skin, grey eyes, a black beard, which is kept reasonably closely cropped and hasn’t fully grown out yet, and mid-length black hair. When away from combat, he wears red trousers and a short red coat, both ostentatiously embellished with gold, while underneath the coat he wears a slightly longer and tighter tunic of purple; his armour, meanwhile, consists of iron scale armour that covers his torso and legs, iron mail (‘chainmail’) over his arms and iron gauntlets, all with red trimming, and a conical, red-plumed iron helmet with a veil of iron mail attached around the base (like this one). He wears a purple cape over the top of either outfit. His mount, Rsama, similarly wears a coat of iron scales on a base of red-trimmed leather, covering all but the head, legs and wings, and two skirts of the same construction that droop down on either side to provide some leg protection while on the ground; his head, meanwhile, is armoured with iron plates, those covering the top and sides embossed with gold patterning.
  • Personality: The succession having been denied to him, Osroes has made martial prowess and piety his goals in life. That said, at his age he isn’t all that good at achieving them; while reasonably intelligent, quick-thinking and bold, he is also rash, impetuous and stubborn. Even so, in keeping with his striving to be worthy of his people and his family, he has a strong sense of justice and, when he puts his mind to it, can be considerably kind. He also shares a very close bond with Rsama, treating him in an almost brotherly way, and is willing to challenge any who believe that they have a greater steed than his own.
  • Backstory:
    • To the immediate west of the Cairn Mountains, on the very edge of the Kambachan Desert, lie a number of villages which are home to a people who call themselves the Parni, skilled in horsemanship, devoted to the worship of the force of light and creation known as Mihr, primarily employed as guards protecting and guiding trade caravans passing through the wastes to and from Murgavio, as well as the odd adventurer. Years before Osroes’ birth, the leader of Tasmag, the greatest of these villages - potentially even reaching the status of a small town - was a man called Arsaces. He gathered together the Parni’s leaders and forged a pact between them: contracts to guard caravans would be organised centrally, in Tasmag, for a fixed price that was significantly higher what was typically charged at the time while, in exchange, he and the other leaders would get a cut of the profits from each contract, along with a share of any spoils that might have been taken from reckless bandits captured or killed along the way. Seeing a chance to grow wealthy, the vast majority of the leaders agreed. So it was that a coalition was established and, though the political elites of the villages benefitted disproportionately, all others, able to charge higher fees and earn more coin for the same work, benefitted nonetheless.
    • This, of course, attracted the attention of the Prosper Council of Murgavio, the city that had benefited to such a great extent from the trade flowing through Parni territory between Kambacha and the lands to the north. They were disgruntled by these upstart savages suddenly demanding more for their services and sent an inquiry to determine precisely what was going on. Arsaces’ response was bold: he journeyed to Murgavio himself on his trusty pegaz (the Parni for ‘pegasus’) Mihrphernes, hired a translator and sought an audience with the Prosper Council, whereupon he eloquently extolled the benefits of his new system, reminding the council of merchants that the fixing of a single price and the centralisation in Tasmag made it much easier for any given trader to obtain an escort to pass safely through the desert and would, rather than curbing trade, in fact allow it to flourish. His words were met with the Council’s approval and, when Arsaces left, he took with him their official endorsement.
    • He also, however, took with him the seeds of something else, for Arsaces’ only son, a young boy at the time, had accompanied him. He was overawed at the splendour and culture of the great city and was especially disappointed when the two had to leave. Ever since those weeks, Phraates would hold a special admiration for the Murgavians, such that, when Arsaces died and he inherited his place as leader of Tasmag and the Parni coalition, his first act was to rebuild his family’s ancestral home into a stone palace (a small one) in the Murgavian architectural style. This was the first of many actions to attempt to integrate his household, and indeed the Parni political elite at large, into Murgavian noble society and Phraates, though he still knew how to ride horse and pegasus, hold a lance at a charge and loose arrows from atop a retreating mount, increasingly came to see himself as something of a kinsman and ally of the Murgavians. Despite receiving no Murgavian permission for this he declared the Parni coalition a satrapy, evoking an old title for a territory in subservience to a larger power. While the Prosper Council saw these moves as essentially harmless, they worried the villages’ religious leaders, since several of them adopted Murgavian customs at the expense of Parni tradition. Phraates, for instance, began to approve guard contracts for caravans carrying salt, something to which Murgavians wouldn’t bat an eyelid, not to mention making life significantly easier and more profitable for Parni contractors and nobles and Murgavian tradesmen and women; according to Parni belief, water is a substance that is a direct, life-giving manifestation of the power of Mihr and salt, since it renders seawater undrinkable, thus a manifestation of the power of Tar, Mihr’s opposite, making it unholy. This sacrilege, along with other such secularisations, drove something of a rift between the Parni’s religious leaders and Phraates; the occasional rumours of his being a Tar worshipper or practicing dark magic, though probably untrue, still persist.
    • Phraates would go on to have children of his own - two sons, to be precise - with his wife Asxen, each of whom would go on to be influenced by his Murgaphile nature. Wishing for the Parni to continue their (semi-imagined) ascendancy in world affairs, he hired a Murgavian tutor for his children to teach them politics, rhetoric, geography and, most importantly, the Murgavian script and tongue. His firstborn, named ‘Skandar’ in an attempt to emulate the Murgavian ‘Alexander’, took to this surprisingly happily for a boy of his age and, being groomed by his father to inherit after him, effectively absorbed his view of the world.
    • Thus at last we come to Osroes, Phraates and Asxen’s second child and the one, though they still loved him greatly, who his parents perhaps took less time to guide ideologically. What Osroes gained in Murgavian knowledge and reason from his studies, therefore, he equalled in spiritual learning outside his family’s influence, becoming friendly with Tasmag’s sage, Husravah, and receiving from him the ancient teachings of the Great Winged One, the Mihrzad (bird laguz, literally ‘born of Mihr’) who had first preached of Mihr at the height of the ancient empire whose ruins now scatter the desert. It was at Osroes’ behest that his and Skandar’s tutor procured for him a Murgavian translation of a biography of the Great Winged One’s life whose original-language version was lost in the empire’s collapse, a book that he now keeps with him at all times and often reads when he feels that he requires wisdom. As such, he has come to have opinions that are somewhat contrary to those of his father and brother; while he acknowledges the value of the Parni’s dealings with Murgavio, he does not feel that they are worth sacrificing what he holds to be spiritual integrity. Moreover, he is concerned with how Parni society has been transformed from relatively egalitarian to essentially hierarchical in only two generations when Mihr’s essence is present in equal amounts in each of its members.
    • It is for this reason that he has sought not to simply accept his place as nobility but to earn it - and, since the Parni way, not to mention Mihr’s way, is the way of the horse, bow and, to a lesser extent, spear, that is where he has focussed his efforts. As with all Parni children, Osroes was gifted a mount from his parents at a young age; unlike the vast majority, however, this mount was a pegaz, who he named ‘Rsama’ - ‘he who possesses the strength of heroes’. There was an instant kinship between the two of them, a kinship which was only reinforced when Husravah explained to him that, as a pegaz, Rsama was Osroes’ spiritual equal. From that day onward, Osroes has spent a great deal of time riding Rsama, getting used to flight, guiding him with only the pressure of his legs in the Parni style and practicing with the composite bow and the two-handed lance, achieving some skill in each. For his seventeenth birthday he received his full set of wargear - armour for himself and Rsama, a long, sturdy spear with red cloth around the shaft and a compact bow of fine make; he has ridden out as a caravan guard ever since, putting him somewhat at odds with the willingness of Phraates and Skandar, neither of them warriors of particular note, to act from above.
    • Finally, there is the issue of Azadokht. Phraates’ intention for Osroes, as with his brother, was always to marry him off to the daughter of a family as high up the Murgavian political classes as possible, buying the Parni influence and power in the city-state. Osroes, however, had other ideas, falling in love and beginning a relationship with the confident, ingenious and pragmatic young woman who had originally been found, abandoned, in the desert and was taken in by a childless Parni couple. Parni tradition presents no problems for the match - in fact, due to the miraculous nature of Azadokht’s finding and that of her abilities, it would have been actively encouraged for a member of the villages’ elite - and Osroes knows this all too well, with the result being that he has so far resisted his father’s pressure to break off their courtship to seek marriage in a more advantageous place.

Alright, catch up time.

Talbot and Osroes are both approved. Elisabeth and Talbot will enter the game at level 12, and Osroes at level 11.

Def: Brendan looks good mechanically, but I'm not sure if you meant the Vissan army or got confused with the Frael army in his backstory? If you did mean Vissan, that should be workable, but it just sounded like you meant Frael from the description of events.

Yep, it was Frael. Everything should be changed now.

  • Name: Azadokht
  • Age: 17 (approximately)
  • Appearance: Is of middling height and slight and lean of frame with olive skin and a relatively open face, halfway between angular and round, with abnormally light amber eyes and wavy black hair that comes down just beyond the bottom of her neck. Her outfit is much like this, though hers lacks the hat and is ever so slightly shorter in the leg. She carries her tomes and axes strapped securely to a doubled belt around her waist so as to preserve her mobility without them flapping about; her favoured style is to carry an axe in either hand, though she has recently been experimenting in her practices with holding a tome in the other and trying to force its power into the weapon - so far with little effect, so she retains the former in battle for now.
  • Personality: Azadokht is resourceful, energetic and capable, able and willing to learn from everyone and everything that she experiences. She thrills in the use of her power and the influence resulting from that power, seeing both as a means to change the people and the world around her for the better - though she is perhaps somewhat blind to the feelings of those less fortunate than herself, if not the actual substance of their plights, meaning that she can come across as insensitive and brash. Her self-confidence has also left her more adaptable than consistent or careful, and indeed that adaptability in combination with her mental and physical faculties mostly serves her well, but her tendency to rush into situations without any framework beyond instinct to guide her can land her in trouble.
  • Backstory:
    • The desert of Kambacha is a strange place. Ancient magic layered upon ancient magic permeates the sands, twisting the body and soul - to a greater or lesser extent - of any who brave them… On the other hand, the way in which one is twisted may not always be harmful.
    • Azadokht’s biological parents are unknown. She was found by those who she would come to know as mother and father, a Parni couple called Vahumanah and Inoys, on the edge of the settlement called Gazdeh, completely alone, with no signs pointing to her origin. The two believed that they were unable to conceive at the time (though Inoys would later fall pregnant and give birth to a healthy boy who they named Farnah) and so they took her in to raise as their own. Seeking the advice of the village’s priest, the conclusion was reached that the child was a gift from Mihr, divine force of light and creation. It was on that basis that her name, Azadokht - ‘free’ or ‘unbound girl’ in the Parni tongue - was chosen, for she was special and her place in the world would be hers to decide.
    • Indeed, Azadokht did decide. She was a prodigious child and set her mind to assimilating knowledge and skills at an incredible rate. From her adoptive parents she learned how a sheep might be milked or a crop tended (as far as one can be tended in the near-infertile soils on the Kambachan desert’s border), yes, but she also learned a little of how to manipulate the ebb and flow of Mihr’s power from that same priest, Kaufazata; studied and memorised the patterns of the stars as taught by those who guarded and guided the caravans; practiced shaping wood, cutting leather and weaving rope with Gazdeh’s craftsmen and women. The individuals around her were her library, a library from which her mind would read every single day.
    • Most notable of all, however, was Azadokht’s ability to run. Whether the blessing of the divine or the mysteries of the desert was its origin, Azadokht demonstrated both a fascination with and affinity for motion from almost as soon as she was old enough to run. It rapidly became clear that she could outpace all children of her age and most who were older as well. As she grew she became yet faster until, by the age of nine, she could run more swiftly than anyone in Gazdeh. Whispers of her abnormal origins circulated and it was said that she truly was blessed by Mihr; how else could one have such swiftness, after all, without the gift of light granted to the pegaz?
    • During this time Azadokht also became friendly with a woman of the village called Rtapani, whose most notable trait was her love of the dances that had been passed down in her family from mother to daughter - dances that dated back, according to her, to before the fall of Kambacha’s ancient empire, when the mages of old encoded them with power. With no child of her own, she resolved to teach them to Azadokht instead - and Azadokht found that she enjoyed dancing just as she enjoyed running, the feeling of herself in beautiful, energised motion consuming her utterly. More and more would she visit Rtapani until, eventually, her skill surpassed her mentor’s and Rtapani said as much.
    • This was troubling for Azadokht. Over the past couple of years she had become increasingly dissatisfied with the way that the people around her put her on a pedestal, holding her up as some sort of paragon of Mihr’s excellence; even her parents gave her a great deal more attention than their actual biological son. To hear one of the few people she considered superior to her say so was, perhaps, the final nail in the coffin. Feeling frustrated and seeking a new start, at around the age of fifteen Azadokht relocated herself to Tasmag, where she found employment as a dancer in Phraates’ household, to whom she had previously been presented as a young girl due to her miraculous nature. While she did find new people to learn from, particularly the constant flow of traders who actually treated her as a normal human being - indeed, it was at this point that she was taught to wield throwing axes by a man all the way from Reginbor - to her dismay the rumours had caught up with her in a matter of weeks and she was treated just the same by her own people in Tasmag as she had been in Gazdeh.
    • She did also, however, meet Osroes at this point, which would mark a significant change for her. Much like everyone else, of course, and perhaps to an even greater degree, Osroes was utterly amazed by her. Instead of considering himself unworthy of her as a result, however, he instead actively sought to get to know her as a person and, upon seeing her disillusionment, encouraged her to embrace her unique identity and then to use it to reach out and help others. Though at first she rejected his advice, Azadokht saw that his words were not empty, given how he was striving in his own right to earn his place as a leader of the Parni rather than merely falling back on his status in the way that, to a degree, his father and brother were doing, and came not only to embrace it but also to value Osroes’ companionship in its own right. The two spurred each other on, becoming ever closer and developing a spirited competitiveness and companionship that, over time, grew into something more intimate. They spent more and more time together, to the point at which, once Osroes’ seventeenth birthday rolled around, she would almost always find herself accompanying him on caravan guarding contracts (though those were almost always worth it in their own right for the conversation of the traders themselves, of course), and eventually they realised that they had fallen in love and began a romantic relationship - much to the consternation of Phraates himself, of course.
    • Taking all of the above into account, Azadokht could be said to be fundamentally more fulfilled now than at any point in her life - mostly at peace with herself and with an infinity of opportunities, both in service of herself and others, lying before her alongside the means and allied strength to face them.

@Temptest: Everything looks fine for Azadokht. However, you are not yet eligible to register a second character. You have to complete a full chapter of the game before you are eligible, and you only joined in this chapter. Fortunately for you, you joined before the first map began, so once this chapter is complete, you will be eligible to register Azadokht.
