I got the DVD and I have to say you gotta watch this movies with other racial commentary movies side by side. As said before, this movie really gives back a certain flair to horror. Also I am glad they went with the theatrical ending, because as many people said it gave hope instead of despair. And that bit of Rose trying to frame up Chris by acting like the helpless white victim stereotype really shows how much of a Manipulative Bitch she is. The thing about Rose is that she knows how racism is wrong, but yet she still chooses to engage in it. Sometimes there are some racist people who know it's wrong, but will do it anyway if it suits their own needs.
What's often not understood about racism is that it isn't just some sort of innate belief, but it is a method of social control. There is an appeal to racism because it sets yourself up as having an advantage over others, whether actual or imagined. For someone to get rid of their racist attitudes it becomes more than just changing their opinions, but giving up the "actual or imagined" advantages you possess in that way. It's similar to the recent explosion of sexual harassment scandals, as a number of people wonder why these men feel the need to do such horrible things when they have a wife, girlfriend or can just hire a prostitute, when the actual "sex" part is just a symptom of flaunting power.
Get Out is exploring a certain form of "anti-racism," which is in essence has the same power-play appeal but in reverse. The film was satirizing how that despite appearing progressive and inclusive it is still separating an ethnic group as different from your own. It was particularly inspired by the left-wing assertion that "racism is over" after Obama was elected.
It was the robotic way she kept sipping from the milk that bothered me. Just... weird.
I too wonder what kind of horror satire Peele could do from a female perspective. He could do a really great take on how women can turn on each other — especially if the protagonist is a woman of color among white females.
But if it's a Distaff Counterpart to Get Out, it may be seen as a bit derivative.

I think it would focus more on why women would protect and enable men with a history of abuse than policies, because some might disagree what they think is anti-women. However, I do agree with the notion of that sometimes women will shield and make excuses for men in power to the detriment of their fellow women who are victims.

Well I enjoyed the heck out of that.
Unless I missed something I believe there's a whacking big Plot Hole, though. How did he get the cotton balls in his ears? Weren't his wrists tied down?

I just watched it.
The suspense is maintained.
The horror is absolute.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
