The time travel and Deerfox episodes were a back-to-back gut punch that had me sit down for a while and just think about what they were saying, extremely good and probably two of my top episodes at this rate.
Finished the episode with the Troll Rock loved how the troll destroyed the statue at the end!
New theme music also a boxThe audacity of having an entire episode technically being about Jorts put a grin on my face the whole time as I was watching.
For those wondering where the Great Raven went, they actually cut a scene from "The Troll Circle" that explained that. It was due to the scene taking too much time while contributing nothing to the story.

Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Finally I'm buckling down and watching this season, just finished "The Deerfox." Oh my god, this has to be one of the biggest doses of feels I've seen in a while. I mean I was correct in not believing Twig had left Hilda for good but that didn't stop it from being equally fucking heartbreaking and sweet. God bless Twig, man.
Self-serious autistic metalhead who goes by any pronouns. (avvie template source)So I reached ep7 tonight, where they used the Hilda song posted earlier as end credits music. Even more interesting, I found flipping through the language options on Netflix that they translated the song all the dubs (I checked Spanish, French, Japanese, and Chinese).
One thing I found interesting is that it seemed like the Japanese Hilda voice was trying to sound cuter than all the others. I'm not sure if this is my imagination, but I've heard Japan is big on cuteness.

Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayAnd that's Hilda season 2 under my belt. The last episode being twice the normal length sadly kept me from finishing the season before the New Years ball dropped, but better late than never.
What a fantastic show, so happy it's back. Delightful, adorable, but still packing some good Gravity Falls-esque supernatural mystery and intrigue that keeps you hooked and gives it some good edge. I recommend this to anyone this could possibly interest. These last few episodes also turned me around on Greda, she's actually cool and doesn't deserve to put up with Ahlberg's self-righteous horseshit. Also I guess Gil decided to either resign as Jorts CEO or choose to downsize the company or something. Poor guy got literally possessed by mice alongside anyone he worked with.
Also, I guess the game is on with the ending. And hopefully by complete accident too! Please god give us another season, we've suffered enough this past year.

Self-serious autistic metalhead who goes by any pronouns. (avvie template source)There’s one graphic novel left unadapted and a 75 minute special announced.
Not Three Laws compliant.Oh, goodie.
Self-serious autistic metalhead who goes by any pronouns. (avvie template source)While waiting for the 70-minute TV special that could solve season 2's cliffhanger, let's talk about who will voice Trundle. For me, it should be Rowan Atkinson; you know, Mr. Bean. That should mark to be his first time playing a villain.
The episode "The Deer Fox" was nominated for an Annie Award.
I had a feeling if any episode from this season was going to get any nomination, it would be that one.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).What do you think of my Harsher in Hindsight example for this series? It's seen in its YMMV page.
- The Season 1 episode "The Ghost" where Hilda has a nasty falling out with Frida is harder to watch when you look at the episode of The Worst Witch 2017 series of its first part of the season 1 finale, "Out of Bounds" where Bella Ramsey's other character Mildred ended up getting expelled from Cackle's Academy after Maud told Miss Hardbroom on her for leaving the academy to check the cabin where Agatha Cackle is banished from while the school is in a lockdown. Suffice it to say, both Mildred and Hilda met with a Death Glare from Maud and Frida when they try to apologize to them for going against their orders. Though this happened before her falling out with Mildred, Maud befriending Ethel during Enid Nightshade's first episode appearance is not different from Frida befriending Kelly. Sure enough, Hilda does eventually forgive Frida, and so does Mildred for Maud, and this happens after Frida/Maud has decided to make amends for their actions by the season 1 finale.
I'm confused by how those shows are even relevant. That seems like more of a trivia entry to me.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Playwell they both have witches and magic schools so umm.its pretty shoehorny yeah
New theme music also a boxYeah, I'm going to say that the entry is not a valid example, since the shows really don't have a relation to each other.
Well, both shows starred Bella Ramsey as the titular character, and the last episodes of the first season really did have a connection in the Plot-Mandated Friendship Failure with The Perfectionist for a best friend, so it's a Harsher in Hindsight moment that you can't just ignore.
It's not really a valid connection. It's just two shows happening to echo each other through pure coincidence. Harsher in Hindsight is supposed to refer to an event either later in the same show that recontextualizes earlier scenes or a major real life event. Like all the stuff that was made really awkward by 9/11.
There's no particular reason why two different shows with the same actor would create a harsher in hindsight reaction because they're two different shows. You wouldn't see me saying that Doctor Who causes a Harsher in Hindsight reaction in Broadchurch and vice versa, because they're two different shows with different focuses and priorities.

Not Three Laws compliant.Well, what about Elena of Avalor and She-Ra and the Princesses of Power? It has a connection in season three where Aimee Carrero's titular characters losing sympathy for Esteban and Catra when they have gone too far from what they had done. Anyway, that's a Harsher in Hindsight example.

That's not a valid example either.
Wow, the entire Elena of Avalor Harsher in Hindsight entry is comparing it to different shows. Thanks for pointing that out. I've gone ahead and removed the whole thing.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayOnly elements from later in the same story or from real life can be examples of Harsher in Hindsight. If it's from a different property, it does not count because different properties do not interact with each other, even if there are shared actors or creators.
Not Three Laws compliant.I just hope Netflix will turn Trundle into a Complete Monster in that upcoming 70-minute movie special in the case of Adaptational Villainy. Make him similar to Bill Cipher from Gravity Falls. Bonus points for him being voiced by the creator himself, Luke Pearson.

OK,why would they do that?

Based off the appearance of the Woodsman I'm tempted to that he's Hilda's father polymorphed into a Deku Scrub
