Yay! Somebody else posted in the thread! Now I don't feel like I'm shouting into the void so much.
Anyway, I'll finally get to read books 4 and 5 tomorrow. It took a while for my library holds to come in.
Edit: I've now read books 4 and 5. I noticed that the creatures from episode 4 of the show show up in the scout montage in book 4 (and also show up briefly in the montage at the beginning of book 5).
Anyway, reading Stone Forest was weird because for the first time, I had no idea what was going to happen. I really like that the Mom got to play a major role in the story for once.

Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayBump.
Hey, so you guys remember how Hilda was nominated at the Annie Awards for Best Animated Television/Broadcast Production For Children, Outstanding Achievement for Character Animation in an Animated Television/Broadcast Production, and Outstanding Achievement for Writing in an Animated Television / Broadcast Production?
It won all three of those awards. Really.

Silvergate Media, which made Hilda, got acquired by Sony Pictures Television.
I...don't know how this is going to turn out.
Sony's film division has been in a slump since it tried to weasel out of the Spider-Man deal with Marvel Studios and Men in Black International and Charlie's Angels were complete duds.
I'd hate for that bad luck to poison the rest of Sony. Or maybe I'm just doomsaying.

According to this Silvergate Media press release
, alongside season two, we're getting a 70-minute movie special.
You might want to fix that link. It just goes to a page that asks if you want the grown-up or kids version of the Silvergate website.
That aside, we're getting a movie-length special?! Beat still, my heart!
EDIT: Never mind, I found the press release.
The company was founded by Lord Alli and Viscount Astor in October 2011. Since then the company has established its creative studio in New York, which has built Octonauts into a global success, produced and delivered Sunny Day for Nickelodeon and Hilda for Netflix. Silvergate is in production on four new properties for partners Netflix, Disney and Nickelodeon, as well as producing a string of new content for its hit series Octonauts and Hilda.
Currently in production: three new seasons of Octonauts (Above and Beyond), two 70-minute movies and a 44-minute musical; Season 2 and a 70-minute movie special of Hilda; Season 1 of a new show Made By Maddie; Season 2 of Sunny Day for Nickelodeon; Season 1 of a new show Monkey with a Toolbelt; and Season 1 of a new show Creature Cases for Netflix and a new Disney series.

Season 2's first two episodes are "The Troll Circle" and "The Witch".
The Librarian is a witch confirmed?
I wonder if they'll adapt Stone Forest. Maybe they'll spread it over the last 2-3 episodes of the season like they did with Black Hound. Hilda turning into a troll would serve as a decent cliffhanger as well.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayApologies for necro'ing the thread. I recently started watching this show, and I'm enjoying it so far. I've always loved the fantastical, especially when tied to folklore. I'm loving the designs of the various supernatural creatures.
I also recently finished the comic book Hilda and the Mountain King, which I really enjoyed as well. It'd be awesome to see that story animated.
I had a "Wait, that voice sounds kind of familiar" moment with Alfur, and then I realized he's voiced by the same guy who voices Tora from Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
"I squirm, I struggle, ergo I am. Faced with death, I am finally, truly alive."

Way overdue, but I loved the music we got. I was expecting it to be more orchestral, but this electro/techno soundtrack actually fits, as if Mark Mothersbaugh was doing it or something.
Also, Season 2 is happening...in 2020.
Oh, the waiting game. I missed playing it so much...
