Not much, because of right issues from both characters, but they do team up once or twice in the comics.
Continue writing our story of peace. It's not surprising. Static was explicitly inspired by Black Lightning, and his costume has always looked a lot like him either design wise
◊ or coloring wise
◊, or both.

Oh my god. Just watched the first episode; it was amazing. Loved the various perspectives on activism coming from Pierce versus Anissa versus Henderson; really side-eyeing Henderson’s “if you protest, we tear gas you” etc. But there are black cops who say crap like that (cough, David Clarke), so it was a thoughtful touch.
Anissa is my favorite.
Really? I never heard about that.
One Strip! One Strip!
I think that makes sense. The showrunners want a popular Electric Black Guy. Tony Isabella fears said EBG's popularity may overshadoew his creation.
A bit more information on the vendetta between Tobias Whale and Black Lightning

I like Tobias. He feels like a typical gangster type, but with some interesting flourishes-his albinism and how that relates to his views of race, the aquatic theme, and his own (probably just lip service but still) code of ethics.
Also excellent use of Billy Paul at the final fight. The soundtrack for this show is great so far.
What?
Were there two episodes?
Tobias has some swagger to him huh? I mean, even without the context that he bought the police, you could just tell he was walking in there like he owned the place just from the way he was moving.

Static can levitate people with his lightning too.
Come to think of it, modern Static and Black Lightning have rather similar color scheme. Dark blue, black, gold.
