It was ok, but what was a major letdown for me is Tobias Whale going Big Bad again. It's getting so tedious.

Remember when Lynn and Lala were contributors to the plots? I don't like how annoyed I feel at them when they are on screen.
I am sure Jefferson keeps his secret identity from the therapist. This is okay because Jefferson Pierce has issues Black Lightning doesn't. I also think that Black Lightning might be retired again because of Henderson dying last season but we know he'll be back by the end of this season.
Also, Our hero and villain have finally gotten a scene to themselves and it was great.
Episode 2!?
I didn't even realize it at all. We're already 2 episodes in?!
First Batwoman, and now this series. I'm just not on the ball with Arrowverse shows this year.
One Strip! One Strip! And Superman & Lois is gonna premier in a week.
But yeah, I don't blame you, it has been a very rocky start for the verse this time and it just felt really off that it didn't start in October.

I really laughed at how Jefferson is doing what he can to avoid being Black Lightning while still doing stuff he would do as Black Lightning. He fought in a cage match, risking himself for another teacher who barely has a home, resisting using his powers (I think he did) to win, and providing shelter for that teacher. Jefferson is doing so much just so he can avoid being the superhero he is but he's covering for it so hilariously. Lynn and Jefferson are most likely doomed as a couple and odds are won't be together for their next couple's therapy because Tobias is that good at driving a wedge.
Yeah, I think what maybe could have been healthy while killing drama would have been scenes in the episode of Lynn being treated like an outsider among her family but her family still treating her with a kind of love and respect she would have/had as the maternal figure of the family. That is probably how Tobias is able to influence Lynn, in giving the illusion of caring and making her feel like he understands.
I'm guessing no one caught Lynn talking about her brother, John?
Also, they originally wanted to bring in Bumblebee
, but never could find the right story for her.
More to the point, doesn't John already have a sister introduced way back in the early seasons of Arrow (who we admittedly never saw again)?
Unless they plan to say both Lynn and this original sister exist.
One Strip! One Strip!

They also still have to deal with Gravedigger.
