NobleBirdOfPrey; is "noble" part of the definition?

I ask this because the word "noble" is part of the trope name, yet Shan Yu's pet hawk is named as an example, and working for Shan Yu (even if in the sense that a pet does) isn't exactly noble.

Am I misinterpreting the trope, or is that just a misplaced example?

The trope isn't about the actual behavior of Birds of Prey. It is about the symbolism attached to them. Since it has been many years since I watched Mulan, I don't know if the movie in any way used that symbolism but the birds behavior is absolutely irrelevant.

So why the word "noble" in the first place? Wouldn't "majestic" be more fitting?
