Sooo. Today was a pretty good day for anime. Hibike! Euphonium started with a bang, a double length episode full of band practise, unresolved tension from the first season with the second years and the evolving relationship between Kumiko and Reina, all done in classic Kyo Ana style.
Then there was Yuri on Ice, with gorgeously animated ice skating sequences, goofy reaction shots and ending on a high note with naked Russian ice skater butt.
Natsume Yuujinchou's fifth season started on a high as well, with a bit more focus on Reiko, while Brave Witches, if not spectacular, was at least competent in setting up the new series.
Though of course today's highlight was Anitore! XX.
Yuri On Ice: Everything! Is! Beautiful! The skating animation, the O St, the OP and ED, the characters (Both in terms of how they act, and how they look, from the attractive male designs to various female designs, from the MILF-esque teacher to the punk older sister to the sweetheart Childhood friend to even the cute chubby mom, Hell, even the female skater that had a few seconds of screentime looked hot).
My face was melting from it all. Oh yeah, This is a follow.

Watch SymphogearBrave Witches Episode 1: So far it seems to be on a par with the original series (even if it is very predictable at the moment) so things are looking relatively good as I did enjoy Strike Witches somewhat. I am not much of a fan of the flying CGI animation as it seems a little jarring when it goes backwards and forwards with the regular animation.
What is with the World Witches Series tagline though? Are they going to do a whole bunch of series about various witch units around the world?
That's what the source material is IIRC, a series of spinoff stories about different witch squads around the world.
As far as I know this series is only about one squad though the Brave Witches in Orussia . The other prominent squadron that I know of is the Storm Witches in North Africa but they will likely get an anime series of their own.
Oh and apparently there is one set of books set in the Sengoku era of Japan for some reason because it's Japan.

The Strike Witches universe is rather expansive if you dig deep enough. Like there are crapload of named Witches from Fumikane, some of them not even having actual pictures (Takami for example has been mentioned before by him, but only now shown. Hikari is a new face).
Anyway, Brave Witches: OMG, the Witches are back!! I can't wait to see more from this.
Only sometimes postsFlip Flappers: So that was... more melancholic than the hype had led me to believe it would be. Lots of contrasting colors and generally crazy animation. There were a lot of hints as to the main story and what's really going on, but things just sort of happened for now. Cocona is the more reserved type, but her facial expressions say a lot. Papika does the genki things. I'm not overly impressed by this yet, but it's certainly interesting. ED is amazing though.
Keijo!!!!!!!!: This might be the dumbest sport I've seen yet. Whoever invented it needs a pay raise. Looks to be the good type of stupid and funny, so it might be worth a watch.

I'm not even fully past the opening of Keijo yet, and the fanservice is so over the top, it's more of a comedy than an ecchi. I'm too busy laughing to get aroused.
I'm almost ready to call it a shounen parody.
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet Unless I grew it. In that case, throw it in the trash.Eh, The character Writing was just average to me.
The animation though is a Sakuga fans wet dream, I'll give it that.
Watch SymphogearNatsume Yuujinchou Go: Great start, as expected of Natsume Yuujinchou! Bring on the feels!
Takkyuu Musume: I was hoping it would be more comedic, but it seems to be a straightforward sports anime. Unless the character arcs are really good, I'll most likely get bored with it.
Show By Rock!!#: I wasn't happy with the time travel, it being my pet peeve, and I agree with Retoree with it belonging in bad sci-fi movies, not wonderful Show By Rock. But come on, it's the long-awaited sequel to SBR, so how could I not watch this?? Hoping it won't be too obtrusive. Great to see all the beloved characters from the first season again, it's cool that Criticrista seem to have joined the main cast.
Nanbaka: Very hammy, very sparkly, and very funny. Hope it keeps it up.
Chi's Sweet Home 2016: I loved the old Chi's sweet home shorts, and while the CG was unexpected and, well, not as cute, Chi is still Chi.
Plus THE OPENING SONG IS "NEE" BY PERFUME!!!!
I am confused about the timeline. They adopted her only a month before...they're at the new apartment...Blackie is there......
Magical Girl Raising Project: Really, really excited for this one, as Tropay Xion said I just hope it doesn't go full grimderp. Love the fact that all the girls seem to have gimmicks that make them stand out.
Later, I'll watch Soushin Shoujo Matoi.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.
And from the spoilers I've read, it's not a well-executed grimdark either.
Shame too, I was hoping it'd be more like a Magical Girl Highlander or Mortal Kombat instead of grimdark suffer porn.
On a brighter note however; Keijo!!!!!!!! is saving anime!
Dark is fine, grimdark is another thing entirely.
But hey maybe it'll be like Dangan Ronpa? Magical girl Dangan Ronpa, that would be fun. I'm already calling the rabbit mascot "Monousa."

Of the things I've watched so far, Izetta and Raising Project are the most interesting for me. I was going to watch Vivid Strikers, buuuuuut the original Vivid was already boring, and I really don't care for the series post-A's, so no real point in tormenting myself with something even more removed from stuff than normal.
