-As soon as you jump out of the interdimensional medium, you see a bright and dazzling picture looking out the observation deck-
-The location in front of you appears to be a binary planet system. Two massive orbs - one red, and one white - rotate, locked around each other by a near-blindingly bright white pillar of light stretching between them-
-On closer inspection it would appear that the red world, Pyrogen, is young, and undergoing massive amounts of tectonic and volcanic activity - massive, kilometre-wide cracks in the crust are visible from space, at least on the parts of the world that aren't obscured by thick clouds of ash from what are probably erupting volcanos-
-The white world, in the meanwhile, is nearly featureless, a marble ball floating in space. The white clouds hovering over it barely stand out from the brightly glowing surface. The place is giving you snow blindness just from looking at it.
-...That's probably Cryogen, then-

@Longram Albert: "No, this is still a dream. Go back to sleep, and wake up from this craziness."

Will make dad jokes for friends.(@Albert;Longram) Hastur: ~cracks knuckles with sickening slurping sounds~ You'd better shut up and get ready unless you want me to deport you by safe cradling.
That said, Hastur goes to fetch No Name and Cthylla. The latter one is already clad in a stylish coat, while No Name still goes relatively undressed. His body emanates intense heat, and it seems that snowflakes falling on his tanned skin will almost evaporate.
The King In Yellow himself synthesizes another set of clothes, this time - fur-rimmed yellow parka.
Hastur: So, time to go, I guess.
-Well, I will assume every one boards-
-The shuttle leaves the frigate, and begins vectoring towards Cryogen-
-As you enter the atmosphere you note that it somehow seems... temperate. There's life in the clouds high up in the atmosphere, creatures adapted to constantly moving at significant altitudes. The wind is light, and the fauna looks friendly (the most common sky creature looks sort of like a larger, wingier manta ray). It almost looks like a sky paradise, with the beam of light extending up to Pyrogen (as well as Pyrogen itself) always visible-
-Of course, as you descend, snow begins to fall and the wind starts to pick up. The temperature drops sharply too. By the time you can see the ground in detail the shuttle's info terminals are stating that temperatures outside are extremely low, and beyond human environmental tolerances. Still, the weather doesn't look too bad - seems like the worst that can happen here is a blizzar-
-ROAAAAAAAAAAAAR-
-...That's a dragon. A dragon with six legs. A massive, white dragon with six legs that has to be the size of a small apartment complex, that is currently breathing a cone of liquid nitrogen. And eyeballing it, that cone could probably freeze three shuttles and their occupants at the same time-
-As you approach the bright pillar of light - a massive research base standing out where it contacts the ice world - you should perhaps consider why, exactly, you were hired...-

(@Roy) Hastur: Oh, I'm fairly sure it won't. I don't know what's happening on Earth now, but his stories will eventually be forgotten, and not a single author will pick up where he left off. That's just a drop of water in the aeon-long river of time, and furthermore, who'd want to read tales of an yellow eldritch alien from Aldebaran?
