~the lab looks little different from the last time people were in here; there are still several tables full with alchemy supplies and loose notes, some currently in use and some inactive~
~Baru's bed is a total mess, a pile of dirty laundry and bedsheets that don't appear like somebody actually ever sleeps on there~
~...aaaand then there's one entire wall just covered floor to ceiling in potion racks, holding bottles of all sizes and colors imaginable~
Baru: "So, to answer your question, this is what I make here."
~points at the potions~
Momonga: Oh. The Agasha are a samurai family of spiritualists. They are always studying the natural environment and looking into the composition of the lands to understand the kami that live within it. They have a propensity for chemistry that sometimes takes a while to properly clean up. They're the ones who are permitted to create fireworks, for instance.

We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Baru: "Ohhhhhh. Yeah that definitely sounds like me. Especially the fireworks part."
(@Mindy)Baru: "Yes to both. And a ton of other things too. If we're not on a mission, I mostly spend my time here coming up with new ideas for how to brew new things. For example, my last batch of experimental formulae included one that made you sprout hair all over your body, one that made you exhale strong gusts of wind, and one that could let you see imperfections around you very easily."

(@Mindy)Baru: "Oh yeah, probably not. Barbara looked like a big golden yeti after she drank it." >_>
~her eyes lighten up for a brief moment as she hears Momonga, but then they narrow with suspicion~
(@Momonga)Baru: "...while I feel incredibly flattered by your choice of phrasing there, I can not quite shake the feeling that there is some ulterior motive you have for complimenting me like that."
~maybe one of Sunny's chars walks by the open door to Baru's Lab~

VR Game
Oliver: [On it!]
-Oliver wheels his fighter around and looses a missile that trails out and destroys the bogey near Monomi-
Oliver: [Man. How long have we been in here, again?]
Yokai Lead: [Yokai Lead, reporting in. Got a little scuffed by a micromissile but I'm doing fine. You guys?]
Scalar 4: [Scalar 4. I've got a good eye on the rest of my wing, we're not damaged.]
AWACS: [Good work, but get ready. These were just the picket fighters they sent to stall us. We'll be on the base - and its actual defensive complement - shortly enough. I hope that bomb sight of yours is ready, Wendigo 3.]
"Seven is here too, dressed like the concept of choosing clothes that look nice together was an arcane secret far beyond their grasp."Baru: "...oh. Sorry then. My bad." >_<
"But uh, regardless of that, your question is kinda hard to answer. Everything I work on is a testament to my skills in some way, the successes and the failures alike. I mean, that's what science is all about in its barest form, isn't it? You get an idea, you try it out, and regardless of whether it actually works or not you write down the results and work from there. You know how the saying goes: The only difference between "proper scientific research" and "dicking around with dangerous explosives and flesh-eating biohazards" is whether or not you record your results somewhere."
Monomi: Sorry!
Seriously who's on which team. IC she has no reason to make these mistakes.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.VR Game
-A quick consultation of her radar would reveal to Monomi that Oliver, Asagi, and Quartz are all on the same side as her-
-This would appear to be some type of PvE event-
-There are also a few other friendly dots in the sky, but they just look like friendly bots. Might be best to count on them to help out rather than do the work-
Oliver: [...how have we only been in here three minutes? Feels like a day.]
-A few minutes later, you come up on the research complex. It is... quite enormous, looking almost like a small town but comprised mostly of glass skyscrapers. There are three military garrisons scattered around. There is also an airbase, with enemy planes looking a bunch like the ones flying with you preparing to take off-
-Your radars pick up on all the sub-buildings, as well as the anti-air defenses surrounding it - conventional anti-air guns, surface-to-air missile batteries, and flak cannons. There also appear to be one or two railguns surrounding the central campus-
AWACS: [I'm picking up a massive amount of ground-based defenses. Those need to be taken down so that our transport Gryphons can paradrop troopers into the base.]
primary objective - destroy anti-air defenses
[If you can find the time, take out their barracks too - that'll make the job easier on the ground pounders.]
secondary objective - destroy garrisons
[And finally, be careful. Given they probably heard their picket fighters' mayday cries, they have to know we're here, and they've probably been able to scramble their better-equipped aeros. And not just that - do not damage the research facilities! That data is critical. If a spare bomb wipes out too many servers, this mission is fruitless.]
failure condition - destroy three research buildings

Momonga: I am preparing to head back to Rokugan for a short time. So I would request some of your stronger...potentates? No, that is not the word. Potions, that was it.
