Monomi: I want to see a sheep! And learn about them... And a lot of other things.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.(@Monomi) Robin: Hm, I... ~he takes an ominous-looking leatherbound book off his belt and, opening it, utters a quick chant. in a moment some magical equivalent of a 3D hologram of a sheep appears in front of him~ Hope a simple illusion would do, but they look like that.
The sheep in question looks realistically and acts almost naturally, feeding on grass. Except there's no grass, only station's metal floors beneath its feet.
Quartz: I cannot say I would right now, to be honest, it would force me into a more, ah, sedentary position, and I would miss travelling with all of you. Of course, on the other hand, it would be quite the promotion, but...
Voldh: -still there, watching-
An impressive illusion, for certain.

(@Voldt) Robin: That's nothing, only a single verse of chant. I usually put more effort into these to create illusory landscapes like chasms and rivers to mislead enemy troops and formations, but well, little magic tricks are fine for a breather. ~chuckles~
(@Quartz) Hastur: But f̧̨̖̯h̷̜̹͈̯̫̗t̢̢̼͔̮̙̼̤̻a̵̵͓̻g̵͇̝͟n̨͖̞͈̘̟͝ it and stay here with us, that's what I say. ~grins lightheartedly~
(@Voldt) Robin: Basic utilitary black magic and sufficient amounts of energy to keep them up. Which I happen to have thanks to my heritage. Otherwise it's just learning to channel powers from tomes of magic and practicing incantations.
(@Quartz) Hastur: Well we'll see. I think your elders will keep you at this position given how much stuff you see when traveling with us.

Monomi: A hologram is made by projecting light out in the shape of an image.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.(@Monomi) Robin: It depends on a world, many schools and fundamentals exist. In my world we use tomes as conduits for our magical energy and give shape to spells that are written on the book's pages. Like providing electricity to gadgets, to put it clearer to you. And to activate the specific spell from a tome we read it out loud. It has advantages, but a drawback is that I'm almost incapable of magic if I lose the book. Something like that.

(@Quartz) Hastur: And do you wish to?
