Omar: I believe that it is a matter of an irreplaceable metaphysical concept being bartered in such a materialistic manner that has many people understandably unnerved. I do not know how such things are viewed in your homeland, although I can guess that souls are considered in the same vein as a diamond or steel constructs in being a resource to be bought and sold. For many of the people here, they have been taught that the soul represents who we are as individuals above even the heart or the mind, and that such things persist after our mortal lifetimes have run out. Perhaps such things would go to another realm where we are properly rewarded or punished for the actions taken against others, perhaps we are taken there as a result of our resolute and never-ending faith, perhaps even the soul comes back to the mortal realms to continue to influence this plane of existence even after its previous owner has expired.
Whatever the case may be, you must understand that trading a soul is far harder on a person than trading their material possessions, their health or even their lives. It is to the point that those who express willingness to barter away their souls for something lesser is considered "evil" or even tainted in some manner. I believe there is a very old quotation from a movie that goes to the effect of "They may take from us our lives, but they cannot take from us our freedom". Bartering the soul is effectively just that. Bartering away your freedom with little guarantee that it can ever be brought back, especially when it is sold to a faceless banker you have never met in your lifetime.

As for me, well, I have already pledged my life to Allah and the state of my being in regards to a soul is fairly questionable, so I do not have a problem with signing this business agreement. But it is not so easy a decision for many of us, miss Lovisia. It is not the wording of your contract that they have trouble with, since it is likely written rather hard in our favor. It is the action of signing one's soul away itself that will not be so easy to come to terms with, even for the bravest of men.

We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)~all you can understand from this contract is that by signing, you agree to have your soul be offered as collateral when taking out a loan with a certified Abyssal Credit Institute, meaning that in the case of a violation of the to-be-established loan agreement the Credit Institute may legally repossess your soul~
Lovisia: "Oh. Right. Forgot considering of differences in cultural norms between highly varied backgrounds in group." >_<
Omar: Indeed. I think it would be best if you help us understand how integral bartering our souls is here, and whether you mean that the signature of literally every single person here is needed, or if there is some sort of cut-off point to these measures.
We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Lovisia: "Must just consider like object of monetary value, like house or car. And signature is not needed from everyone, but more souls for offering is meaning more leverage to barter for better conditions when taking out loan. If are lucky, can get deal with low interest rate so have to pay back less total after done with mission, meaning can keep more money after retrieving big block of gold from monster."

~everyone who signs can feel a very brief, very gentle tug deep down in their being as soon as the put down their signature, after which Lovisia collects the signed contracts again~
~but only if they really do have a soul, otherwise they don't feel a thing~
(@Momonga)Lovisia: "Is problem?"
