Ironscales: Then what? It ain't gonna change the bigger issue. It ain't like a raider you can take out to have him stop his shit...

Eurybe: What bigger issue? We are going to get our money, make sure this man is no longer around to be in charge, and leave. This is a job, and whatever happens when we're done with it is not our concern.

Ironscales: Nah, I mean, it ain't only this guy being an ass to the ladies here, yannow? It's the whole damn society. And I dun think committing a mass-scale vulpinocide is the answer there, yeah?

-And so Omar is going into town, waving hello to the various floofy peasents trying to make a living. It's obvious he's not wearing a translation collar because his attempt to speak kitsune is passable if flawed...and by how a few natives are trying to avoid visibly snickering when he asks if they sell cow warmers-

Eurybe: Well, his successor happens to be a woman... which would normally not be important to me, but in this particular case I think it's a fact that matters greatly.

Quartz: Hm, what resources are you using to learn the local language, by the way?

Ironscales: Well, shit, that might actually be a step in the right direction!

-Smiles as he takes out a beer from his pack before looking back at Eurybe-

Want one? smile

Omar: Truthfully? I am actually using the language of the nation known in the Human Sphere as "Yu Jing". Despite the difference in time and space, the languages appear to share enough similarities that I can hold enough of a conversation on its own.

-hands the bottle to Eurybe, grabbing one for himself-

So how's the heiress like, then?

Quartz: Oh, I see, that's odd... Any idea why they are that similar, perhaps?

Omar: I cannot say with any degree of certainty. I can make guesses, obviously, but nothing more than such.

Eurybe: -takes a drink-

I can infer that she's ambitious, given that she's the one who came up with this idea.

Hathor: I've been meaning to learn another language at some point. As of now, I only know English and Jotun.

Quartz: Well, I'd be glad to hear them smile

(@Hathor) Haven't heard of Jotun, I'm afraid?

Ironscales: Well, shit. With how all clean and proper things were, I didn't think our princess would be into patricide.

Hathor: Jotun is the language of giants. I don't think anyone other than Lisa and Eurybe would be able to understand me, so I don't often speak it these days.

Eurybe: I must admit, I was surprised as well.

Omar: Well, as I recall from my own time's history, the nation of Yu Jing is comprised of many countries that were all parts of the continent known as "Asia". One of those countries is Japan, which seems to share a number of cultural aesthetics with this world. Now, the history written by these "kitsune" indicates a belief that they were themselves artificial creations of "人", which is a symbol or at least a root word that means "human" or "man" in many asian cultures. With this I can make a reasonable claim that that the inhabitants had made contact with someone from an asian culture some time in the past, and adopted aspects of it into their own mythos. I would not insinuate Yu Jing itself was here, given there would be other clear signs of their influence, so that is the most I can say.

Hathor: Well, to give you an example. a greeting in Jotun would sound something like this...

Hei, jeg heter Hathor. Det er hyggelig å møte deg.

Eurybe: That will be left for time to decide, I'm afraid. I cannot make such judgments myself.

Quartz: (@Omar) So, in short, a ringworld created by people of asian descent?

(@Hathor) That... Does sound pretty nice, actually surprised

Ges: (@Lisa) I assumed that I would continue acting as I did before. I do not view myself as part of your group, merely an ally so I assumed that you would simply tell me the plan that was made and I would fill in where I felt I’d work best independently.

Lisa: ...Look, I'm sorry. I figured someone must've told you what we were doing by now

Hathor: Thank you. I've been told it's quite similar to a human language called Norse. Perhaps the ancestors of giants first lived in Norway.
