-And so Omar is going into town, waving hello to the various floofy peasents trying to make a living. It's obvious he's not wearing a translation collar because his attempt to speak kitsune is passable if flawed...and by how a few natives are trying to avoid visibly snickering when he asks if they sell cow warmers-
We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Omar: Truthfully? I am actually using the language of the nation known in the Human Sphere as "Yu Jing". Despite the difference in time and space, the languages appear to share enough similarities that I can hold enough of a conversation on its own.

We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Omar: Well, as I recall from my own time's history, the nation of Yu Jing is comprised of many countries that were all parts of the continent known as "Asia". One of those countries is Japan, which seems to share a number of cultural aesthetics with this world. Now, the history written by these "kitsune" indicates a belief that they were themselves artificial creations of "人", which is a symbol or at least a root word that means "human" or "man" in many asian cultures. With this I can make a reasonable claim that that the inhabitants had made contact with someone from an asian culture some time in the past, and adopted aspects of it into their own mythos. I would not insinuate Yu Jing itself was here, given there would be other clear signs of their influence, so that is the most I can say.

Ironscales: Then what? It ain't gonna change the bigger issue. It ain't like a raider you can take out to have him stop his shit...
