Momonga: “All things are necessary - war, peace, the edge of the sword, and the sound of a poem. With understanding, all things are one.” This was a quote from Shinsei written in the Tao of Shinsei, and while he had stated it about the life of a samurai, I find it can find meaning in your inner conflict as well.
No one human is perfect. No culture is perfect either. I would advise you not let your enjoyment of the beauty of a land be shadowed by the ugliness of the narrow-minded.

We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Momonga: Patriarchal tradition is one thing. It is not ideal, but it is somewhat tolerable, even if such traditions are dying out as Rokugan slowly changes with the coming times.
But disrespect of such scale is never tolerated no matter the era, and no bushi would have stood for the actions of any such shugenja. I held my tongue for your sakes, but I believe that I would be best served focusing on our given task and leaving matters of diplomacy to you.
