Nagi: Frankly, networking and transport comes to mind. If we're going to get the losers here to take us seriously when we start making demands, we'll need to show we're not playing around. Those little hissers standing by your side are considered weak by the other cults and gangs here, as Curly there can attest. So we'll need to go at least a step above for people to notice new bosses are in town.
We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)-Nagi strolls through the broken city, ignoring the people staring at her and this band of monsters and reprobates from the shadows. You can definitely feel them staring at you, but none of them know what to make of you...yet-
-Eventually, they arrive at their ultimate destination. It's some kind of tower that might have once stood as a shining example of government for this colony...but now only serves as a stark reminder of how far this city's sunk. You can see something shimmering as you stare at it. A bubble that surrounds it and the area around it within a kilometer radius. Inside the bubble in front of the building are many statues, along with floating security drones patrolling the grounds tirelessly. And way at the base of the tower...a single door-
Nagi: Well...here it is.
We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)-The rock flies, free as a bird through the barrier and...-
-...Wait, is that rock...turning inside out? How the hell is that physically possible? And why does the air suddenly smell like incredibly noxious ozone and fear?-
-Now you can see a black smoking clump that is roughly the size of a rock plopping onto the ground behind the barrier. A passing by security drone stops and stares at this clump, then vaporizes the chunk into atoms and dust before blowing it away with a fan, then turning back to resume its patrol-
We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)-Hiteknoraak will feel a stinging sensation in his skull as his analysis spell attempts to interpret what this barrier is made of-
-...He comes up pretty empty. Not because the spell failed. Oh no. It comes up empty because it doesn't seem to even remotely resemble any form of technology or magic that he's encountered before. But in the interest of information-gathering, this is likely what the robed boring guy derives:-
-Whatever this barrier is, it is imposing its own form of order on the area, considering that it could rewrite the structure of something like a rock in so short a time. The source is likely extra-dimensional, something not native to the corrupted environs you are stuck in. Whoever is maintaining this must either be more knowledgeable of magicks than you (impossible for obvious reasons) or something that's got far more capacity than the average magician-
