Ling: "Medieval" periods, in your vernacular, are generally regarded as a transitory phase between the formation of a normal agrarian society to to one more focused on feudal society, yes?
If so, I likely didn't catch who it was that contacted our employers to let them know that there were people in danger. So who did, and how did they?
We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Ling: Hmmmm. Well, the main reasons I had speculated on this is because it would indicate at least three possibilities.
The first possibility being that we had misinterpreted some important aspect, such as the level of technology being "medieval" or our colonists being in less danger than we had suspected if they could send a message back with this much information to us.
The second possibility would be that the people on this planet are not using technological means to inform us of their demands, but rather it is something perhaps mystical, such as magic that somehow exceeds distance in sending communications.
The third possibility, however, is the most worrying I would think. It would mean that the local governmental body that we are cooperating with does not have their own means of communication, but rather using the communication devices of our imperiled colonists to inform us of this situation.
Which would mean we have far bigger issues to concern ourselves with beyond just these false accusations to dismiss.
We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)—Eventually you spot a colonist ship sitting in the center of what looks like a wooden barricade built around the ship with groups of people milling around within the barricade as you pass over. Some individuals seem to take notice of your approach, and some mounted people follow your ship as you find a clearing. You set down on the ground, Serenity opens the hatch. Welcome, to Lucia.

'If you fall seven times, stand up eight.' The cry of the Undead.Roy: *Gets off the ship, fluffing up his duster

-Ling has begun starting her usual level of involvement in these shennanigans-
-Namely by creating the illusion of a floating lawn chair to sit on while sipping some illusory lemonade-
Ling: Hmmmm.
@Lovisia At the very least, this place seems fairly hospitable to those of our disposition.
