Naomi: -to Omar- Thaaaaaaat's because technically it's not a nation. It's the banner that everyone on Earth agreed to unite under a couple hundred years back once we developed FTL.
Six: -to Einar- I've done enough shit for people close to ONI - Office of Naval Intelligence - to know how spooks operate. Inquisitors sound a lot like that.
Wish we had the option of disposing of them like that.
"Seven is here too, dressed like the concept of choosing clothes that look nice together was an arcane secret far beyond their grasp."Hathor: Well, I only became acquainted with this group of people recently.
And please, call me Hathor. "Really tall lady" is my mother's name.
Six: -to Einar- Fortunately, no. Even the most self-absorbed ONI spook knows the only place for them in the Covenant is an unmarked, glass-covered grave.
Naomi: -to Omar- Really?
-to Hathor- Your mother sounds like a nice Really Tall Lady! :D
-to Quartz- 'Sup?
"Seven is here too, dressed like the concept of choosing clothes that look nice together was an arcane secret far beyond their grasp."Omar: @Naomi In the history I know of, the nations of the planet Earth never fully unified as yours did after the discovery of wormhole travel was possible. Many nations did come together, or at least consumed others, but they are all still in competition with one another for control over the milky way galaxy.
Although there are numerous other nations that were formed of the desire to merely create their own homes and begin anew. Mine is one of them, in fact.
@Quartz I cannot say that I have met one such as you before.

We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Naomi: -to Omar- ...Huh.
Yeah, there's always a bit of tension between nations, but after the Earth very nearly ecologically collapsed in 2060 thanks to the effects of climate change the surviving nations kinda had to band together. It was in their best interest to make sure that a second Holocene never happened.
Name wasn't UPS for a while, though. Not until we started really going interstellar when Enterprising Voyager 9 sling jumped all the way to Pluto.
-to Quartz- How ya doin'?
Six: -to Einar- No centralized command structure?

"Seven is here too, dressed like the concept of choosing clothes that look nice together was an arcane secret far beyond their grasp."Hathor: She is a kind and gracious woman.
...I was making a joke regarding her name, however. I'm not quite sure that part translated well.
@Omar: Indeed, it would seem we are. What is your name, sir?
Lisa: Sure. Well, New York is largely ruled by big and powerful corporations, for the most part. Frequently they'll get into fights with each other over various issues, and as a sword for hire I end up working for them when they want to get sensitive information on their competitors.
Aside from that, well... it's big, it's flashy, and it's the largest metropolitan city in America. So, not too bad of a place to live, I suppose.
Omar: You may call me Omar, scaled one and dignified one. It is a pleasure to meet you.
-Gives a polite nod-
@Naomi Hmmmm. In my history, there has been no such alteration of the earth's climate on that scale. And it was the manned vessel Mandella discovering a habitable planet on the other side of a wormhole near the planet Pluto which inspired the first true wave of interstellar travel enterprise after a tragic setback.
Very similar, but...very different as well.

We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Six: That laugh's a little scary, bud.
Naomi: -to Albert- Uuuuuuuuh we burned a lot of unclean fuels - oil, coal, et cetera - and put a ton of bad shit into the atmosphere. Started raising the temperature of the planet beyond normal means.
Humanity got their shit together by 2027 but by then it was juuuuuust too late to prevent major climatological shifts. But at least we sidestepped the clathrate gun and total extinction of life in the known universe, so hey, take what you can get, right?
-to Omar- Wait, tragic setback? Did the wormhole collapse?
Also, nice work on actually getting your shit together around then! I bet your Earth looks nicer than ours.

"Seven is here too, dressed like the concept of choosing clothes that look nice together was an arcane secret far beyond their grasp."

Naomi: -to Omar- Uuuuuuuuuuuh nope! Most of humanity back home is under the banner of the United Planets of Sol. UPS!
-to Hathor- Hi really tall lady! :D
Six: -to Einar- Nice to know that even across vast expanses of time, spooks are still spooks.
