-Ling conjures the image of a piece of scroll paper and a quill, and pantomimes writing across it like it meant anything while casually sitting in the air floating. Probably to make it seem like she's actually formulating some kind of plan-
Ling: If I have learned anything from the long time I have spent as a teacher of magics, it is that many people who deal with merchants still believe that they live in the age of bartering, and thus will demand compensation if the product does not work as intended, no matter its effectiveness beforehand or even afterwards.
Now, the leader of this group of criminals you are looking for, "Master" Kyle or whatever his name is, gave the appearance of putting quite a lot of stock upon his latest acquisition from these alien arms dealers, and his given attitude towards the Loswell foundation indicates his plan of having acolytes obtaining building reports and pilfering the belongings therein is motivated more by a desire for petty revenge rather than simply the robbery that he is attempting to pass it off as.
-She then rolls the scroll up and poofs it out of existence-
Therefore, it would stand to reason that if the weapon he had paid quite a hefty sum towards did not perform as well as intended, and indeed failed spectacularly at a very critical moment in his plan, that he would likely become incensed enough to contact this weapons dealer as immediately as possible and demand an explanation, or even demand compensation for his own failure.

We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Ling: That is what I was thinking, yes. Convince him of the necessity of bringing this strange weapon by giving him the "necessary" floor plans and information on the Loswell "security forces" to herd him to where it would be advantageous to destroy it, yet allow him to escape with his life unhindered.
The trickiest part, however, would not be in luring him into a trap. That aspect is very simple given his general demeanor and lack of respect among his own acolytes.
The tricky part will be in convincingly acting as though he even has a chance in the face of such overwhelming martial strength, only to fail at the very last moment due to a critical error in design of the weapon. There will be quite the delicate balance to maintain for that area.

Ling: @Company So.
We have become double-agents, unintentionally it appears.
How do you propose we handle this now?
