(@Six) Squall: What the red mage said. Under Vinzer Deling there was an airstrike lauched in an attempt to destroy all SeeD Gardens. And while we've managed to save this one, Trabia Garden was destroyed with almost everyone dying.
(@Turax) Ael: But have they done anything to repay for what has been caused?
Her voice wavers for the first time, she is close to her breaking point, it seems.
(@Turax) Ael: While people were doing their war, we've buried our friends and mentors in ash and tried to save ourselves in utter poverty! And as it came to an end - did anyone aside from you SeeD think of your brothers out there? Of the one intent to become one of you?
Asagi: Well...I'm not part of SeeD. And I don't have brothers.
Or sisters.
...Or, well, anyone.
I mean, I understand why you did it, but...
Does doing what you do to prevent further ruin for the people you care about somehow make you different from these guys, who work for the government to stop plots to ruin people they care about?

We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)(@Turax) Squall: No. Everyone has been too focused on licking their own wounds instead of assisting one another.
(@Turax) Ael: That's it! Nobody cared. After everything was over, the new government just tried to forget about us.
(@Asagi) Ael: And that's why I am different! I've been wronged before, so I tried to make my land prosper. That would obviously cause harm to others, but it's necessary evil along with a fitting punishment! Am I to be blamed for trying to fix this injustice?
Asagi:-Sniffs-
I 'unno...s'not my place to judge you, you know?
I mean, you don't like have any plans that'd be causing more trouble after this, do you?
-Mercuria gets a look inside, and looks astonished-
Mercuria: Where are the rune platings?
We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Turax: "Trying to fix it? No. The way you tried it, damn yeah. Did it ever even cross your mind to ask for help from these other governments? A plan- nation that has been put to ruin like yours shouldn't expect to just strong-arm itself back to its former glory. I have experienced firsthand that that doesn't work. The keys for a people to regain prosperity are diplomacy, trade and cooperation. If you want to climb out of the hole that was bombed into your homewo- country, that's great, but instead of trying to kill people until you have a nice, large pile of corpses to lift you out, how about you consider asking someone to throw you a goddamn rope!"

Mercuria: Hmmmm...I think you're right, Stubbs...your head's a lot more compact than all these wires...hmmmm.
Well, considering I had declined payment for assisting you...I could offer my services for you people making some temporary runeplates in the meantime? I have my own kit here, the tools won't cost you anything.
We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)(@Turax) Ael: How could I even try and beg for mercy with those bastards towering over me and brandishing their power? No. Co-operation would work if we'd been willing to become equals, but my goal was to make Trabia stronger.
(@Asagi) Ael: Nothing. I've failed, the only one who has been sharing my views and caring for me - my Guardian Force - is gone for good. I've got nothing left to do and am waiting for my penalty. Fin.

Turax: "Maybe it wouldn't have made Trabia stronger, but it would actually have helped your people. But now you stand in front of the same ashes you stood before when you started. Maybe even worse than that, if word of the whole extend of this mess got ou- ..actually, I think I just stopped caring about putting some sense into your head. I'm done."

Six: You just wanted to make your homeland stronger. At the expense of everybody else if need be.
I've seen your type before. I have killed lots of people like you. And the one thing they all share is that for the past one hundred years nobody has even been brave enough to step forwards without a machine gun and try to talk.
An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. All you would have done bringing your nation to prosperity would be to make the nations you curbstomped into the dirt in the process resent you. Maybe enough that they decide talking won't solve it. Maybe enough that they form their own rebel groups designed to bring you down from the inside-out. Or maybe enough that they raise an army and enter full-scale war.
As ye sow, so shall ye reap. The cycle continues.
And all because you didn't act without thought or doubt.

"Seven is here too, dressed like the concept of choosing clothes that look nice together was an arcane secret far beyond their grasp."As Ael watches Turax leaving, she exhales slowly.
(@Six) Ael: My decisions might've been too vindicative and driven by hatred, but I couldn't do anything about it. You may be seasoned or grizzled or whatever, but you haven't been there amidst corpses and smoldering ashes, reminiscing that a day earlier you've been laughing, studying, trying make friends with teens your age... The memory was driving me for all that time, not giving me any sleep at night.
(@Asagi) Ael: I do indeed. There's nothing else left for me.
Six: I've been there. I've been the person sitting in a dropship heading into space, streaming away from a burning hometown where everyone I knew was dead and watching alien ships we could barely comprehend or fight in the distance vaporizing any trace that we ever existed.
The difference between you and me is, Galbadia had a hack who cheated his way into power. He represented the will of the people as much as a rock. Most everyone hated him.
The Covenant... fanatics to a T. They believe - all of them - that our extinction was the will of their gods. And you can't reason an opponent out of an argument he didn't reason himself into.
-He sounds insane-
-But you can see a haunted look in his eyes when he speaks of his old homeworld-
-One similar to your own-

"Seven is here too, dressed like the concept of choosing clothes that look nice together was an arcane secret far beyond their grasp."(@Six) Ael: Well, I've been wrong about you indeed. It took someone who's lost just as much to bring me down. But still - I'm already out of the picture. I think with ideals like yours you people are here not to spite me. But there's nothing left for me to correct what I've done, no words are needed anymore.
-Mercuria can tell Stubbs is worried, but she looks determined-
-As far as she can see, this is the closest they'll come to finding a way back to Immoren, so she's taking it-
Asagi: Well...alright then.
-She looks at Squall-
What's gonna happen to her?
We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Six: Well, the only question I had is why you did it. And you answered that.
Shame we had to meet like this. If the circumstances were different...
-Six turns to Squall-
Six: -to Squall- Anything else you need to discuss?
"Seven is here too, dressed like the concept of choosing clothes that look nice together was an arcane secret far beyond their grasp."

Turax: ~sneers at the floofceress~
"Yeah right, because all the Galbadian citizens had any say in the matter at that time. The airstrike on Trabia Garden was an executive order issued directly by President... uh..."
~takes out a small notebook and flips through the pages for a moment~
"...Deling, that was his name. And according to what I've read, he was far from a respected representative of the people."
