I played a bit of Bloodline Champions way back in the day and I had fun. Then I played a bit of this recently...and still had fun tongue . It's nice to see it grow in playerbase already.

So I have started playing this game. I genuinely enjoy it and so far I like Thorn, Varesh, and Lucia quite a lot. My only really complaint so far is just how frustrating silence feels at times especially with Jade. One of the most frustrating team comps I have fought so far had Croak, Jade, and Pearl.

I haven't seen that myself I think actually, but I can get what you mean. Really gotta not panic while Jade's shooting at ya to avoid the silence. Count for Jade's fourth LMB shot since that is definitely a time her player's are likely to then shoot E. With Thorn, I'd say to try to focus on dodging until Jade tries for E and shoot back with Thorn's RMB or E. With Varesh and Lucie...uh, you can dodge, though Lucie's good DoT and HoT with her mouse abilities do reduce the opportunity cost somewhat. You can also try to counter the E with Varesh, but if you don't think you can't do that I'll definitely admit I can't very reliably either.

Do remember Jade's E can get you while casting an ability so it'll be easy for them to get you with it if you perform an ability with a casting time of some significance to it, like Healing Potion.

Recently picked up this game again for the first time after it going out of Early Access.

Must say, the loadout system is quite nice. And I definitely missed my Freya <3

Not the greatest fan of duels though, especially not when you end up with Lucie against a melee. I also tried out 3v3 instead of my usual 2v2, quite a bit more chaotic, but still pretty fun.

I love Zander, his mobility is very fun to use and his damage potential alongside is healing potential is pretty fun. Definitely my favorite support champion so far playstyle wise

After playing some more, I decided to try out Alysia. Holey moley is she fun! I love flinging ice everywhere! (Singing "Let it go" is optional)

So this is some controversial news that popped up recently. Battlerite is getting an Battle Royale Mode.

The map is called Talon Island and is much bigger than any map we have had so far obviously due to the nature of the mode. It's also apparently the location of where Ulric, the very recently released paladin support champion, lives,

The game mode is going to be

  • 20 players
  • Any Champion can be used
  • You start out with your M1 ability and your ult. you have to scavenge the rest of your abilities
  • You will be able to choose your Battlerite loadouts. On top of that you can find more Battlerites on the map. This means you'll be able to have more than five Battlerites.
  • You start with only 50% of your chosen hero's health and can add more through loot pickups
  • There will be weather effects, environmental hazards were considered but the team is scrapping them due to optimization issues
  • The Battlerite Royale Balancing will be completely seperate from the Battlerite Arena balancing.
  • You can find equipment (stat boosts), and potions which are just consumable health and shields.

I am pretty optimistic about this announcement. I am not too fond of the current popular Battle Royale games on the market like Fortnite for it's shitty shooting and PUBG for its bugs and glitches. I think the gameplay of Battlerite alone will make this a way more unique Battle Royale then anything on the market barring maybe Maelstrom and hopefully this may bring new life to the game (hopefully not toxic life but whom am I kidding, that'll likely happen anyway).

This announcement is considered controversial as a bunch of Battlerite players are throwing a hissy fit over it because they hate the genre and want to be totally against the flow man. I personally don't understand this attitude as the Arena mode isn't being replaced and even then it can be pretty stressful and stale sometimes. If this works out for the devs both the Arena mode and the Royale mode would get funding. People don't realize that what happened to Fortnite's original PvE game mode is not a common occurrence.

I was waiting for it to actually arrive to mention it, I swear.

I'm not sure what to think about it myself. My initial reaction is I might give it a try because having watched other people play FPS BRs is that dying in the first minute because other people found better weapons than you looks like the worst, but that sorta could still happen in Battlerite's rendition since you start with almost no abilities. Conversely, dying in a second from someone unexpectedly shooting you in the back of the head later on strikes me as about as poor but Battlerite's version would likely avoid that. I doubt I'll like it like arena mode though.

They might change that. They are still saying that anything at this time is still subject to change. The thing is for me I can see this game mode functioning way differently in this game then most BR games simply because the popular BR games are all FPS or TPS. Battlerite being an champion/hero based arena game with an already built in death circle would play into the Battle Royale genre better.

I like Arena mode too but sadly it isn't getting the game any new players despite the improvements they have made to arena. This move if it goes right will get them new players.
