Speaking of Campfire, I just checked, it isn't doing well in Playstore in terms of rating.
Likely because a lot of people viewed it as unnecessary, people are already used to coordinate raiding via existing apps, such as in their own Telegram/Whatsapp group, or in Discord. All that effort in making Campfire could have been directed into making the games more accessible to everyone instead.
Also, they didn't really promote it. I honestly forgot Campfire exist until you mentioned it
So I won't be surprised if it lacks enough number of users to be useful.

I think Campfire is good for getting random people to congregate on a raid - but I think it's still not open to everyone. I only have access through our local discord being a Silph Road partner.
For future elite raids though, I think if you go to a gym with a relatively easy access point (they're almost exclusively in parks anyways), especially one with multiple elite raids, you'll do okay.
Part of the problem is that there's often several gyms fairly close to each other. If you're not coordinating beforehand, people will be split between the different options and there may well not be enough people to actually beat it.
Yeah, Campfire is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too late to the party. My local raid groups have been using Messenger successfully for years. They're not gonna change for that. I have several friends who also adopted the queue apps like what PokeGenie has converted to. They have little reason to swap over as well.
As usual, Niantic is three steps behind and simply out-of-touch with the playerbase.

FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiI'll admit it's sour grapes, but does it feel like some people have a misleading line up for no other reason than to be spiteful? You know, leading with two Pokémon that are fairly strong with an unquestionable one in tow.
Like even when I've shown each of my team, and they have a Pokémon who could end it fast, they give the impression they have no hope of winning anyway.

Misleading as in they already know their third guy can beat all of your team? I think that might just be inertia, by the time the battle gets to that point it should be pretty close to ending already, right?
What annoys me is when people insist on fighting battles to the end even if they're trying to loss pad and throwing way underleveled mons...and they still insist on using their shield because their 50 CP rattata is totally going to have a chance if it survives this charge attack, it's the top 1% of rattata, right?
Did they ever fix the refresh bug where you have to be tapping your screen for the battle to progress on your phone's client? If not, maybe that's what they're doing, just watching TV and mashing their phone without regard to what's going on?
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiSo basically Shuppet is a ruse, we'll get Zorua instead?
Does anyone know exactly what is needed for Zorua to appear, now that the event for it has been fixed? I have read multiple things and I'm not sure which is correct. Some sources say that it will only appear if your buddy Pokemon is on the map and it will be a duplicate of your buddy, others say that it appears as your buddy even if you don't have your buddy active on the map, and yet others imply that it can appear as any Pokemon in the wild like Ditto does. So I'm not sure which one is correct.
My buddy wasn't walking with me when I found one, so I guess it's just a case of right time and place.
Yeah you don't need to have your buddy out.

The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. Thanks for letting me know. Can it appear to be any Pokemon, or just a duplicate of whatever species your buddy is?
Buddy, I'm pretty sure.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Pretty sure it's just whatever your buddy is, as I got a zorua that appeared as my noibat, and my dad asked if they appeared as floettes (his buddy)
Silence is golden, noise is platinum. Keelah se'laiYeah, it will appear as any 'mon, legendaries and stuff not found in the wild included.
Both lures and incenses work as well.
I just got one that looked like my current buddy so now I know how it works. Luckily my current buddy (a Galarian Mr. Mime) is not one that would normally appear in the wild where I live, so it's easy to tell that it's a Zorua in disguise if I see a wild one.
I have my Cosmoem as my buddy so I thought it was incredibly strange that one would spawn in the wild when I saw one spawn on the overworld like any other Pokémon. I assumed that they were going ahead and giving people a free Cosmoem so they could go ahead and get whichever SM version Legendary they weren't working toward. Imagine my surprise when it turned into a Zorua after I caught it. 😅
Glad to see that they finally figured out how to implement Zorua and Zoroark in Go. I'm assuming they won't be able to use Illusion in Gym/PvE/PvP battles, but I think having them show up on the map disguised as other Pokémon is a good enough compromise IMO.

"Pardon me, that extremely loud and extremely deep voice you may have just heard. It was me. Oh, it is such a long story..."Almost all Legendary/Mythical Pokemon have been removed as possible illusions due to bugs with Go plus/Gotcha/Pokeball Plus/etc allowing people to duplicate them.
Whoops.
My current buddy is Hoopa Unbound, so I'm probably good. Apparently if you set Zorua as your buddy, it appears as your previous buddy instead.
I wonder if Kecleon is ever released, they'll do some similar gimmick where it disguises itself as something to reference it being a chameleon with the Color Change ability
I can confirm it does not work like that, as I set a zorua as my buddy and saw undisguised zoruas.
I can, however, confirm that zoruas will mimic your buddy even if it's a shiny and/or event

Silence is golden, noise is platinum. Keelah se'laiIt will also copy the Best Buddy badge, which I find rather funny.
I walked around a couple hours today and got 13 Zoruas, so they're not too uncommon.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiSo among the Zorua I caught I got my first 0 IV 'mon.
And, the funny thing, is that it was EXACTLY in the same place I caught my first 100%, 6 years ago.
Opened up the app to see two massive Hoopas looming over me. Yeah, not doing a great job of blending in there Zorua.
They want people to go outside. That's why they made Ingress, that's why they made Pokemon Go, that's why they made Pikmin Bloom. Remote Raiding was something they begrudgingly added because COVID forced them to, and they can't remove it now because it's become too ingrained in the way the game is played, so they have to add something else.
Also, they want people using their own coordination app, Campfire. All the communication features that should probably be in the base game are there, because TPC doesn't want chat ingame (I think; that's the only reason I can think of for PoGo not having it even though Ingress did).
