I got an L, which is an IV improvement over the one I was traded from my friend who went to Go Fest 2018. Was hoping for T or R, but 40% odds aren't exactly great, so I was prepared for disappointment.
I got a T, which got me up to the bronze medal combined with the O and two Pís I got in London during the EUROPE event a couple years back. I still have 3 10k eggs going, so I might end up with more.
Did you ask if they had a Discord or something for coordination? Also, Attack Forme Deoxys can be done solo, so that might be worth a try this week.
Not one Unown. *cries*
Attack form is that long-spindly looking one right? Dammit! I saw him too, but was wary and didn't attempt! I should have!!!
That describes three of them.
Why did they make unown only 1 week anyway? The friend eggs are apparently for the remainder of the event.
To leverage fear of missing out to pressure people into spending money on incubators. It is a gacha game, after all.
I get that, but the principle with the friend egg is the same yet lasts throughout the event. I suppose because Unown are locked in places.
For those saying Attack Forme Deoxys is solo-able, how high CP do your Pokemon need to be to pull it off?
Well, they can't be so blatant as to do it for absolutely everything, otherwise F2P players will get angry and eventually leave (and whales typically don't want to play be themselves... 8+-account whales notwithstanding). Since Unowns are on a rarity tier all their own, they make the most obvious FOMO target.
CP is a pretty worthless stat as far as measuring what will work for low mans. It's all about the right Mon and move set. See this Gamepress guide. The long and short of it, though, is that Shadow Claw/Shadow Ball Giratina-O and Bite/Crunch Tyranitar as murder machines. They can win the raid at level 25 (when it hits 4000 dust to upgrade). If you want to be safe, push them to level 30 (when it hits 5000 dust to upgrade, plus two more upgrades). Have lots of Max Revives on hand (or secondary battle teams).

Thanks for the tips. I don't have any Giratinas, but I do have a Tyranitar with Crunch. Don't know if any of the other Pokemon I have will be able to pitch in effectively, but I'll deal with it when an Attack Forme Deoxys actually shows up.

At minimum, you'll need a full, dedicated team of six. While this isn't the most challenging low-trainer raid, it's still something that demands significant preparation. One Tyranitar won't be able to carry you. The list I linked is pretty decently flexible, so as long as you've got the TMs and dust to get that stuff to the right move set and level 30, there's a lot of options for supplementing Tyranitar. This is one of those moments where random weather-boosted Scythers and Pinsirs off the street can potentially be very helpful (spawns can push as high as level 35, saving a lot of dust).
Yeah, I figured one Tyranitar wasn't going to do it. I have a couple Larvitars waiting to be evolved, but that's going to take a while.
Speaking of raids, just did a Machamp raid recently with two randoms. I haven't tried any Machamp raids due to the area I live in not seeing a lot of raiders (at least in my experience), so getting to actually do a Machamp raid was pretty neat.
Man I was hoping hatched mons would retain where the egg came from in their descriptor rather than where they hatched.
7km eggs will. I've used the resulting Mons for distance trades before.
Ah nice. I love me some foreigner pokemon.
I ran into a wild Absol spawn yesterday, and I'm glad to know I wasn't just dreaming or running into a one-off bug. Also spawning wild for the first time, to my knowledge, is Clamperl (I haven't run into one yet, but several have appeared on the radar for me).
I sadly did not hatch a Unown.
Also, maybe I'm just getting very lucky at the moment, but not only are many of the spawns things that can pop up shiny, but I have gotten two shinies in the last couple of days (second Sentret and first Onix), so I'm not sure if shiny rates are up or just I'm getting very lucky based purely on volume of potential catches (worth noting that the three new wild spawns previously discussed are also potential shinies).
Neat, I got an Ex-Raid. Is it an unrelated Deoxys form or is it the base form?
Unless they make a last-minute change, it's going to be Speed.
So the only form unreleased to Go is Defense?
Every form has been released already. They all had a 3-month stint as the EX-raid boss.

I think Normal went on a little longer than that. Then Attack and Defense followed the 3-monthsish rotation. Guess we'll see if Speed also does as much. I find it curious they didn't swap it or pause Ex raids, since the latter is what they did with Mewtwo last year.
Yeah my bad, just had an encounter with Defense Form. Looking at my dex it looks like I'm only missing Attack form. So during the raid hours the form that will spawn in the gym is random, or is it predetermined?
Random. I mean, it's probably determined when the egg spawns, but it's not like you can see what's in the egg before it hatches.
It's totally random - I even saw two gyms in proximity to each other spawn two different forms at roughly concurrent times (for all that it matters, normal and defense). I'm slightly bummed that I haven't seen any raids for attack forme that I could get to, since that's the easiest to solo.
So far, no shiny regionals, though I seem to be getting a lot of normal Kangaskhans with Power-Up Punch, so I think I have some good trade bait.
