Baron, Undeterred

"C'mon, man, dun gimme dat look." The magnificent opulence that was the Blacker Baron realized he might have asked a truly insensitive question. When you thought about it, the bleeding neck wound and the crippling injuries should have been a hint enough. "Stupid question from da Baron, true enough. Or is it?"

"Obviously, life fucked ya over in all da metaphorical holes ya could think of. Demon muddafuckas are ta blame, but" He made a gesture towards the rest of the group they just left behind. "these playas ain't 'em. They be demons, ghosts, muddafuckin' anythin' ya can think of, but they ain't wishing ya ill. So how 'bout ya tell me where ya got dat fancy neck decoration and we can work out ya problems from dere."

Tower

Desco stood frozen, her eyes wide, attention obviously not on what was going on around her. She barely heard the old man go into his little practiced speech. Reality seemed to be a blur, as she tried to focus but couldn't quite get a grasp on what she wanted. It wasn't there. It took her several moments to realize that a piece of her was missing. The piece tied to Schala... how could that possibly be missing?

Now that she figured out what that was, she blinked and started to breathe, Desco didn't realize she was holding her breath. Desco took long heavy breathes, being tired was also unexpected. He numbly started to look around, not quite processing everything, but still taking in the old man in front that had spoken first and that there were other figures around her. Others came arrived and some moved around and spoke much to the un-notice of Desco.

The young final boss thought harder about what was wrong. Schala, Desco couldn't detect Schala's presence. Why couldn't she feel Schala's mind? It was gone, the link, her chaos power, what linked her to Schala just ceased to exist. Hard to remember, but she started to recall this, from long term storage acquired from Klarion so long ago. If he lost his connection, he would have simply been sent back to the other dimension. But Desco was not Klarion, her body was founded in reality. The link to chaos gave her power. It was the special piece of her that kept Schala as close to Desco as she wanted to be to Big Sis.

She could be isolated from the multiverse. constrained so as to eliminate her link, but Desco should remember entering such a trap shouldn't she? It couldn't really be this open inside a trap, could it? That would get expensive fast to maintain. What else? Could Schala have died? She froze again on that thought, for a moment longer than she should have. No, that couldn't have happened. Desco refused to allow it. There had to be something else... had to be..

That old man.. Desco refocused on reality with sudden keenness. The others weren't important, that one was the first to speak. Surely, he must have caused whatever had happened to her. Desco didn't like it, at all. thoughts hovered on the edge she didn't want to bear the thought of. It made her angry, confused, sad, angry, everything boiled out all at once, she started to growl and Yogsothoth appeared behind her, but her strained effort to gather any magical power got absolutely nothing. She was so dependent on that connection that she couldn't even muster the mana for her normal magic.

Tears were welled up in Desco's eyes, and she shut them tight as she threw her hands back and leaned forward while one of Yogsothoth's tentacles shot out from her. She shouted, her anger and despair prominent in her voice, "Give Schala back to Desco!" While she still breathed heavily, the tentacle narrowly avoided others in the way to open and reveal the red void inside, attempting to bite off the Locksmith's head.

Zazy (Tower)-A group of individuals

I stood silent as the man predictably insulted me and the confrontation played out between him and the boy, who claimed to be some form of incorporeal being, a ghost. I had no stake in this, and it would not harm me to see this man shot in the legs, or the boy attacked, so I remained back as Guts stommed off toward the door. Hearing an odd voice speculating about discipline, I turned my head to behold a floating metal box, that seemed to somehow be speaking with a woman in a black dress who, for some reason, had a blindfold on.

"That man has, in the brief time I have known him, shown a remarkable tendency toward total hostility toward anything he perceives as a threat, which appears to include most non-humans."

I paused a moment to turn to the metal box. "It is a mistake to think of this as any sort of unified group. This is a collection of individuals from across the multiverse, brought together at random and against their wills for a purpose that many still remain skeptical of. Individuals who each have their own standards, their own, often clashing moralities, some of who are determined to impose said moralities on others." I took a moment to glance over at the elven woman who had so far proven herself to be quite the fool in my eyes. "Individuals who each have their own interests in mind, None of who will willingly bow to a stranger from another world as their superior for the purposes of "group discipline". This is no united group, and likely never will be."

Gaige (Tower)-Wanna see my robot?

"Oh, you can just go back in and get them!" Gaige said to Einstein. "Those gates don't close, so you can take like however long you need to get your stuff. If we're not here, just go up to the next floor and we should be there."

Gaige then noticed Alphys looking over at her robot, and waved at her, jumping off of Deathtrap. "Hi over there! You like robots? Wanna see it up close? Don't worry, he doesn't bite!"

As if to confirm this, Deathtrap bobbed up and down a couple of times in its best approximation of a nodding head.

Tanya

Satisfied that the walking slab of muscle listened to good reason, the firearm was lowered and trust was given for perhaps a little while longer until ugly interpersonal violence once again reared its ugly head and mediation becomes needed yet again. "Quite aptly said." Nodding towards the almost shamanistic man of African descent in satisfaction, I then turned to regard the blindfolded woman that looked and dressed much like a doll, her features fine and almost inhumanly beautiful even with the visage shrouding cloth about her eyes.

"What we have here is not an army, but rabble to put it lightly. It is a most volatile mixing of various elements that should never meet each other, some components of this little setup being like water and oil. Though we have some people that are quite a bit more strictly disciplined than their ilk and even some from the military, at the moment there is naught we can do but make concessions to keep the team from splintering definitely... though as it were right now we're being held together by the shoddiest of bonds as it were. In the future we might be able to actually pull off 'team spirit' but for the short term I highly doubt it."

And then... there was that specific sensation once more. It was something so utterly loathed that I couldn't help but grit my teeth, the cries of imbecilic passion that made one want to perform idiotic actions to gain short term satisfaction at the cost of the future ramifications. And right now, there was some sort of thick sinewy appendage striking out like a snake to swallow up the Gatekeeper. It was an action so horrifically moronic that my vessels throbbed with fury, the fact that the one person that knows how to get us home were to be attacked in such a way that might even sidestep his particular healing factor.

"Doping With Magical Interferences. Increasing Reaction Speed. Increasing Instantaneous Force. Blocking Sense of Pain. Fully Opening Magic Power Circuits."

As of this point in time, without performing such actions one would not even be able to get in the way of such an attack whether they wanted to become a meat shield or not. Feeling the rush of painkillers and adrenaline mitigate all the negative sensations in my body at once, I then dashed in front of our elderly guide before constructing a multilayered sorcery barrier to clash head on with the damned tentacle and offer protection. "Stop this action at once, newcomer." Sheer disdain was soaked into my every intonation as I acted as a shield against the poorly thought out sneak attack.

Eru

"Hey, can I check out your super awesome robot too?" Youthful exuberance all but shone on the young teen's face even as he crossed the distance with the kind of pace that only a maniac dedicated to their subject could pull off, already standing on his tiptoes to check out the Borderlanders mech with starry eyes and letting out sighs of adoration all the while. All in all, asking the question was just a formality at this point considering how close he was to Gaige's murder machine.

Qrow - Tower

Qrow sighed, but didn't move out of the way. He simply let it happen.

Everyone would probably notice the soft smile on his face, though.

"...it's good to have ya back, kid." He said, returning the hug. "Had us all worried for a while, but you've always been a little phoenix. Can't keep you down for long."

He ignored everything else. This... this was more important.

Weiss Schnee—Tower—Team Hugs

"I had similar complaints myself " Weiss glanced briefly at Danny, with her arms crossed . "I don't mind fighting, but I need a good reason. And they harldy gave us one."

Just like Qrow , for her, the current inner quarrels of the others didn't matter at all. Her complete attention was with Yang and her uncle. The fact that her friend was back was the only thing that mattered.

"He isn't as bad as I thought he would be. But I still think my sister Winter could beat him," she said with her hands on her hips.

no matter hooooow much you miss my baby sister."

When Yang poked Weiss with his elbow she blushed and looked away from Yang. "What? No! I's not like that... I just miss her as a friend..."

Such embarrassment couldn't get unpunished.

Weiss turned briefly to Claw after Yang said her cat pun. "Don't take it personal, Yang can be very fond of cat faunus," she teased Yang. Weiss turnd around to see Yang. "I'm sure you must miss Blake, just as much."

Weiss watched with her arms crossed and a very faint smile as Yang embraced Qrow with a bear hug.

"Of course she is," Weiss said after Qrow. " That's why we chose her to represent us back at the Vytal festival. She is the toughest of us."

Sumireko, The Tower
Mission: Accomplished without any help from her whatsoever. Considering everyone came back alive, hardly bloodied and with a frozen man in tow, she wondered if whatever lame reasons she made up to stay behind were good enough.

Sumireko decided that she was going to go full hog and just throw herself into the next opportunity that came to her, the next chance to-oh holy crap, tentacle monster!

The next opportunity came to her as the strange little girl who had been having a panic attack in the corner of her vision lashed out with the sudden plurality of tentacles that appeared behind her. If something in this world looked like a youkai, it was her!

Aiding in Tanya's attempt to block the insidious incursion, with one hand she tried to telekinetically restrain the tentacle before it could impale the Locksmith, and with the other she drew out her gun. She shouted "Hold it right there," which seemed like the kind of thing to shout in this situation.

2B - Tower

2B looked between the dark-skinned man and the small blonde gunner, her frown deepening. She'd heard of ad-hoc squads coming together in the field, even fought with a few herself, but every android on Earth was still fighting for the same goal, regardless of origin. The situation here seemed much more dire. Even as she thought it over, another scuffle broke out behind her, prompting another irritated snort from the pale woman.

"Proposal: problematic units should be excluded or counseled until group cohesion improves."

"Even if that was actually enforceable, it would take a long time." 2B replied to her Pod, crossing her arms over her chest and looking back at the others. "How many missions have you completed already? You must have managed to work together to some degree."

Zazy (Tower)-Recap

The woman reacted with a snort even as a fresh conflict broke out behind her, with a child summoning some form of otherworldly being to assault the Locksmith. I elected to ignore this. The man would more likely then not be able to withstand any assault anyone here could muster. Let others waste their time defending him.

Meanwhile, I turned my attention fully to the woman herself. Something felt somewhat off about her, and it took a moment to place. The skin was perfect, as if she were a newborn babe, despite apparently being a warrior who had seen her share of combat. And no warrior, no matter how skilled, would come out of extended battles unscarred. In addition, it would seem that there was no evidence of aging, no wrinkles or anything of the sort. And the natural light of the tower seemed to shine somewhat differently on her skin then would be usual for a human. Whatever she was, she was no normal human.

"We have completed two "missions" to this point. I was not present for the first one, from what I have gleamed, the group went to a world not unlike the one I hail from, to claim a pair of powerful swords. The second one took place in a world that is likely closer to your own, based upon your speaking box appearing to be more advanced then the machines I witnessed there. However, these "guns" I saw were apparently far more prominent, based on your own lack of such weapons. As for tactics, the group splintered almost as soon as the main assault began into their own plans for how to tackle the objective, and it is likely only by pure luck that no one ended up being killed."

At this point, I decided to properly introduce myself. "My name is Zasalamel. I am skilled in the arts of magic, and an immortal, one cursed to be reborn each time I meet my demise. I have borne witness to most of humanity's history up until the year of 1592, from whence I was taken into this foolishness. And you are....?"

Kashira Lavellan - Tower - They Came From Somehwere Else

Kashira had lingered a little longer than the others in the other world. If she simply walked in and began speaking her mind, things would not go well. Besides, she might as well let everyone cool off a little without her getting in the way. Like it or not, thanks to trying to lead, she was now responsible for bearing the blame for whatever had gone wrong or whatever they disliked about the task they had just performed. But she could only delay so long, there might be new arrivals and she was simply reluctant to leave the group alone for any length of time. There were too few reasonable voices.

Sure enough, as she walked back in through the gates, she saw several new faces. A small iron golem in a long coat that could somehow twist an iron face into a smug grin, a small lizard standing upright that was apparently an acquaintance of Asgore, a blindfolded human woman wearing what looked like half of an Orlesian ballroom dress, a blonde human girl that Weiss was familiar with, a young human man with a set of the most impressive armor Kashira had ever seen, and still others yet. Truly, these worlds beyond Thedas were many and varied, as were their peoples. And you thought you could simply lead and they would follow blindly? How long will it take for you to get that you aren't the Inquisitor anymore? That last world, any common soldier with one of those weapons, the 'guns,' could slay most soldiers in Thedas, what kind of fool sees such things and thinks she can still command? Her self-rebukes were always bitter and usually right and she could already feel herself wavering on the edge of a pit of despair. Dammit, I can't fall apart, not now! I can still help!

She rapped her staff upon the stones, a slight touch of magic making the sound audible throughout the chamber.

"Excuse me, everyone! I would speak to you for a moment. For those of you who were already here, I would like to apologize." There was no embarassment or shame on her face or in her voice. She was simply stating the facts as they stood. "Some of you clearly knew that world better than I and I should not have tried to lead as I did. For that, I'm sorry. In the future, I propose this: We defer to each other as the situation and our skills demand." She glanced towards the Black Swordsman. "If we are in need of a demonslayer, there is one to whom we can turn." Then her gaze turned to Gaige. "If the situation demands knowledge of artifice and war as it is practiced in such a world as that or another similar place, we have experts in that field as well. I'm not saying it will be easy, or even possible, but at least consider the idea. In times of crisis, there must be a deciding voice, a final word, or else we will falter and fail. And to those who are new to this place..." She smiled brightly. "Be welcome among us." No matter what you are, what you've done, you are all we have and we are stuck with you. Hopefully you understand that too.

With that said, she drifted off towards Gaige. Now that that was done, she had a few choices words for the girl. More than a few, in truth. They should take some time to get used to each other before continuing their journey, anyway.

"Do you have a moment?" she asked. "I wanted to speak to you in private."

Guts, Tower - A personal history of being fucked

Ever steeling himself against all efforts of empathy and understanding, Guts showed the Baron his shoulder and kept walking, his black cape billowing to obstruct the opulent jester.

"I don't need to work out anything. I've never been more clear-headed in my life. There's somebody I need to find, no matter what. I need to get this tower nonsense over with, but I can't do it by playing pal with a bunch of strangers."

The swordsman's footsteps stopped, his stance hesitant. When he turned to finally face the Baron, his face was harsh and jagged, his eye locked in a fierce stare like he was burning the Baron's own.

"Let's get something straight here. I am NOT your friend. I do NOT want to work with you, or any of them, I'm just being forced to. I had no ill will towards any of you, and the only reason I'm such a problem to them is because they all think I'm a part of their team, and so hold me to their standards, when I do NOT want to be a part of any of that. Get this through your thick skull, jester. Leave me be. Hell, consider me your enemy. But if you want me to work together with those numbskulls, this is what you get."

He patted his chest with his flesh hand at that last statement, his palm rapped harshly on the metal breastplate. His hand removed itself then and his fingers yanked at the edges of his cape, tossing it over his side and concealing his body in its shadow. The unfailing image of the dreaded Black Swordsman, on perfect display for the Blacker Baron to see and understand.

2B - Tower

2B raised her eyebrows slightly as Zasalamal introduced himself. She wasn't sure what surprised her more - the fact that he knew how to perform magic, the techniques of which supposedly hadn't been seen since before the alien invasion, or the fact that he came from as early in history as the 1500s. She'd never heard of any records dating that far back, although 9S might have. She made a note to ask him if - when she got home.

"YoRHa No. 2 Type B." She replied, giving her full designation for formality's sake. "I'd prefer just 2B, though. I'm a combat android, specializing in close quarters battle."

"Unit 2B was deployed during the 14th Machine War in the year 11941." Pod 042 helpfully added. 2B nodded her head towards the floating box.

"This is my support unit, Pod 042." She turned at the sound of an unfamiliar voice, one of the other climbers making a general announcement. She mulled the idea over before commenting, "Deferring to specialists would be one way of keeping the group from flying apart." Provided everyone played along.

Alphys and Asgore - The Tower

Well he sure was polite, but there wasn't much else for Alphys to say so she just kinda stood there smiling until she heard a voice calling her. It was the girl with the robot, inviting her to go take a look at it which just made her feel even more nervous.

"They seem friendly, doctor, why don't you socialize a little?" Asgore suggested, with a gentle smile on his face.

"W-Well... I-I guess it should be fine..." said Alphys, hesitantly.

She then began hesitantly making her way over to Gaige, although she was more focused on the robot than the girl herself. Still, she made sure to at least greet the creator.

"H-Hi! My name is Alphys, I couldn't help b-but... take notice of your robot," she greeted Gaige, sounding as nervous as she could be.

Meanwhile, Asgore was watching the exchange happening, but looked away from it for some time to talk to Claw.

"She is a little shy, but once she begins getting comfortable she is a very nice person to have around,"

Zazy-(Tower)-What's an Android?

The woman introduced herself, in turn, as something called a "YoRHa No. 2 Type B". She was quick to explain that she was a "Combat Android" and that she hailed from the year 11941. This explained, to be sure, why I had no idea what she was talking about. A couple of questions rose from this information.

"I am afraid I am unfamiliar with the term "Android". Could you explain what that means? Also.....are you truly from 100 centuries into the future? I had thought that humanity would have surely destroyed themselves by then."

Gaige (Tower)-Distractions

"Oh, sure, you can join in, the more the merrier!" Gaige said to the other newcomer as Alphys walked over. "Great, no need to be shy! So, this guy here is Deathtrap, or DT for short!" Gaige said as she patted Deathtrap. "I built him when I was still going to high school, he's a bully deterrent, programmed to defend me from any bullies that try to hurt me. These days, I face way more dangerous stuff then bullies, so I equipped him with lots of stuff, like-"

It was at this point that Kashira walked over and spoke to Gaige, causing her to sigh.

"Really? I'm trying to show people who are actually cool my cool robot." Gaige shook her head. "Alright, you guys can check out DT for a bit, I'm gonna deal with this really quick, because she's really annoying and won't go away until I talk to her." Gaige said, clearly not caring whenever or not Kashira heard her. "DT should have like 30 seconds until he dematerlizes, so make it fast, I'll give you the technical dets when I get back."

Gaige would then follow Kashira to whatever corner she was going to lead her to.

Tower

Desco took to one knee, , her hands on the floor to keep her stready as she continued to breathe heavily. "D-Desco can't.." Desco can't just give up, she has to do.. something! Her tentacle had stopped mid-flight, another person stood in front of her target making some kind of magical shielding to block her assault. Who were these people? What had they said to her earlier? She struggled with her tentacle against the psionic entrapment, but the effort drained what energy she had left. Yogsothoth sagged and floated slowly down, supporting its own weight with tentacles instead of magic. Another tentacle twitched next to the first that had been sent out, but Desco gave up and let Yogsothoth fade back into nothingness.

The small purple clad little girl pointed at the old man. Desco asked, "You did this didn't you? Tell Desco.. what you did with Schala! H-her connection to Desco.. is gone..." Thinking more clearly, Desco tried to rest for the moment and gather her strength. She couldn't allow herself to die here, there were too many around her. Even if they were just low level mooks, she had no power to fight back. But they looked.. strange. They all looked different, no unified theme about them. If these were just heroes out to kill Desco, wouldn't they have done it the moment she was brought here?

Baron, That's Where You're Wrong, Kiddo!

"I dunno 'bout dat. Ya get a team workin' together, ya can look for ya lady faster. 'cause it's 'bout a lady, ain't it?" The gold-plated grin shined in Guts' face as he looked back at what seemed to be his polar opposite in personality and demeanor. "If it all comes up millhouse, ya can get back to ya search faster."

"Look, Gutsman, ya can leave dat angry mug for whatever's up ahead dis muddafuckin' tower. Hell, any demon comes a-knockin', I'll hold dat shitstain up for ya. Ya go alone, ya'll get burned and nobody'll be dere to pick ya up when ya really need it." Really, The Black Swordsman and The Blacker Baron could not have been more contrasting in appearance even if they tried. "Let us help ya, homie."

Claw, Back With Others

"He's got his fair share of issues." Claw muttered upon Danny's question. "Though it doesn't seem like anyone here is qualified to handle them. Doesn't stop the golden idiot from trying though."

The situation with the newcomer was fierce, but it seemed like Major Degtyaryov have handled it already. Good. Judging by the caliber of power used, he would only be a liability there.

"I would assume that Miss 2B is a distant relative of the likes of Miss Gaige's ride or Mr. Scaramouche over there." Claw made an educated guess at Zazzy's question, glancing over at the pod mentioning the year she came from. That far in the future... the thought seemed crazy enough. "Speaking of, what is the world of the future like, Miss 2B, Mr. Pod?"

He looked over at Asgore with a slight smile. "She does seem like a good soul." His brows furrowed a little. "Though the way she carries herself is a little concerning, wouldn't you agree?"

Guts, Tower - Now that I'v made my point, I'm just gonna-WHAT WAS THAT

Guts had kept walking.

"Ya get a team workin' together, ya can look for ya lady faster."

His boot grinded into the dirt, and the swordsman came to a harsh stop, becoming dead still.

"'cause it's 'bout a lady, ain't it?"

"That's..."

His broad shoulders shook, every muscle in him tensed up, and his phantom eye burned. He trembled at the Baron's mere mention. It actually took him a few seconds to recover from that, impressive on the Baron's part. But once more, he looked unimpressed.

Asgore - With Claw

Asgore's smile faltered as Claw expressed his concern about Alphys' behavior.

"She has gone through a terrible situation on my behalf, I would be lying if I said I do not feel responsible for what happened to her, as well as for taking so long to realize it." He sighed, but then began smiling again, although this one was smaller. "Things are better for her now, but healing is a process that takes a long time, hopefully this adventure might help her along the way."

Alphys - With Deathtrap

The name of the robot was Deathtrap, that wasn't very promising. Especially considering it was made just to fight off bullies. Alphys had to wonder how many accidents had happened because of it.

"W-Wow, you made it when you were that young?" She asked, impressed by her feat.

The girl saying that she wanted to show her robot to people who were cool made Alphys feel a little embarrassed, they didn't even know each other and that girl already thought she was cool? Maybe she was talking about the others who were around. Either way, she ended up having to leave to talk with someone in private, giving Alphys half a minute to inspect the robot.

And so she did, she began looking around the robot, trying to figure out how it worked without having to actually tinker with it. After all, she was not given permission to mess with it.

The Tower

The Locksmith took the prospect of having his head bitten off with apparent calm, but seemed somewhat surprised at being saved. His features turned sympathetic when Desco said what was wrong.

"I see...you have a bond that was severed by coming here," he said slowly. "I have seen it happen before. This Tower connects all worlds but belongs in none, so all connections with the world you came from have been removed for now. Your friend Schala should not have suffered any injury, and your bond should be restored if you make it back."

"And I am afraid I played no part in bringing you here. I was once a Climber like you, but because I cheated, I was cursed to guide Climbers through the Tower. The Ruler is the omnipotent master of this Tower, and it is they that have brought you here and cut your bond. And only the Ruler can bring you back to your world, if you can reach the top of the Tower."

Reimu had been studying the frozen Kane in the meanwhile. After having witnessed the dark forces he had hosted, she had few qualms taking his life. If she had tried to purify him, most likely it would have been at the cost of his life. And there was something in his eyes...

However, the unlocking seemed to have been postponed while now as the newcomers were brought up to speed. Apparently the two non-magical magical martial artists had a friend in one of them, and so did the large white goat youkai. Reimu still wondered why the only others from her world were Youkai and an Outsider. For once, she wouldn't mind Marisa appearing out of nowhere, or even Sanae or Aya would be a welcome sight...

In the back of her head she registered the discussion about organization had started again, with Kashira suggesting that whoever was best suited should take charge. Reimu didn't feel strongly one way or another; after all, if the matter at hand was of a divine nature, she assumed they would let her take charge again anyway.

No, it was the conversation between the Black Swordsman and the Blacker Baron that caught her attention, and Reimu joined the two men.

"Your hatred for demonkind and the inhuman is well-founded, swordsman," she said to Guts. "And while the path of the demon-destroying sword will get you results, take care that it does not rob you of your humanity. It is when you step into solitude, and let the hatred and terror consume you that you too run the risk of becoming a demon. I think you know this as well as me, that humans like you and I can just as well turn inhuman if we let our souls be corrupted by the dark influences. Whether you walk your path of destruction alone or no, you should take care of your soul. For no victory is sweeter for a demon than to turn the demonslayer."

It was around this time that Risinn the merchant returned through the black and yellow gate, horse and cart in tow. The elven merchant would have new wares in stock in the form of local foodstuffs and apparel, with certain special goods should anyone be interested...

Tanya

"Good, cool down for a bit. You're not the only one here with problems and comrades left back in their respective homeworlds." Dispelling the shield after the attack flagged and the girl with features of various sea creatures fell down from apparent exhaustion, I stood ready for a few more seconds in case the idiot tried to attack once again- hands on rifle that was now pointed towards the girl in question. Though she was young, the scent of a killer all but emanated off of the alien youth and as such she is to be treated as a combatant. Child soldiers are hardly a common thing but this... Desco... she is not even that, simply a mad attack dog of ill training. Such beasts must be trained or else catastrophe will strike.

Still, the chances of such attacks happening in the short term are much lower now that the old man had given his exposition so to speak, for reason that robs people of passion is something that wipes out any clear target for such fiery ardent desires, making doubts much more susceptible to fester. It is not the sword or the gun that causes the most damage but the thinking behind those who hold it that does, for if one can sway man to commit atrocities in the name of 'the better good', most would delude themselves into doing so. If only there were more rationale behind every thought...

Death Trap

Seeing no obvious entry hatch on the mecha, the boy tsked for a moment in disappointment that it wasn't open to the possibilities of piloting, finally taking his gaze off of the thing. "Thank you very much for your trouble." Giving Gaige a nod, the boy then swiveled his head towards E Instein in a bit of shock, mixed feelings welling up inside before deciding to put them to rest for the moment. Both respect and vilification warred within the man turned boy, but even now he understood the sins of his fatherland and how it took that act to finally pacify them. And if the conversation was to be heard than the man was much more hands-on than normal and could help with the various bits of finicky engineering that could lead to more ROBOTS.

Hopping back into Motor Beat and willing the hatch to close about his much smaller frame once more, the now hidden knight manipulated the various limbs and programs to guide the kneeling titan back up to its impressive height of seven feet, long strides taking it towards the man in question. "If you like, I can help you bring over your lab. The power armor is useful for such tasks and the machinery is finely tuned enough to be able to be as incredibly stable in all its actions." Peering down at the mad scientist, Eru gave his sales pitch from within the rather intimidating looking outer shell.

Lusamine - Lab

"Whatever you want, Lillie," Lusamine said. She pulled out a Pokeball and threw it, revealing Milotic. "Be a dear and go through the portal, Milotic," she asked the Pokemon as it floated. "Come back when... it is over."

She sat down on the concrete floor of the lab, and then patted her lap.

Yang - Tower

"Heh, I knew you were a softie," Yang told Qrow as she stepped back. "Of course I'm good now, or did you think I was going to let something like this stop me? I spent too long goofing off at home and worrying dad to not come out stronger than ever. I wasted... I wasted too much time. Ruby's out there in Mistral all by herself, what sort of big sister would I be to just leave her there? Well, I mean, she's got the three guys in JNPR with her. And you, or at least you were with her when she wrote to me. But she still needs me there. And then as soon as I find her, we're going to get Blake back, and tear apart any White Fang dumb enough to try and stop us."

She blinked and looked at Weiss. It seemed like the Ice Queen wanted to tease her ba- ooooh shit, she forgot to mention her.

"Oh, and we'd get Weiss too, of course," she quickly added, giving a glance at the Schnee. "You're just fourth cause, it's just, you know... uh... Atlas, it's got all that military stuff going on, we'd definitely need the rest of team RWBY before we could get you."

Claw

"This journey might just be the worst place to try and heal." Claw's expression was dark for a moment before he shook his head and rubbed his temple in annoyance. "But I hope and pray for her safety and recovery both. If worst comes to worst, I presume you will be able to protect her better than any of us."

The pirate's eyes for now set on the elven merchant. "Ah, Miss Risinn. How was your trip?"

Baron

"Says who? Your sense of guilt an' shame?" The Blacker Baron shook his head. "I mean, I'll give ya dis; ya can do what dis Baron can do. I'm a simple man." He clanged his fists together to emphasize, grinning. "But dere are others; playas and ladies with skills ya dun have, The Baron dun have an' only they do. Ain't nothin' wrong in askin' for some help out dere. 'specially in dis fucked-up Tower."

Reimu came to aid with her own sagely words. Sort of. It seemed like she felt indifferent about the matter. "Da experience I've got, lemme tell you dat havin' a partner behind ya to keep ya back safe keeps ya alive here" He tapped his chest where the heart was, then did the same to his temple. "an' here. An' if it's 'bout a lady, Gutsman, we can't have ya put a demon on for her sake, can we?"

Kashira Lavellan - Tower - Something To Prove

Kashira considered telling Gaige to carry on with her demonstration, having no wish to inconvenience the crowd as such, but if she let Gaige talk, the other woman would likely talk on until it was time to keep climbing the Tower without a pause for breath.

"Thank you," she said, moving off just far enough to avoid being overheard. "I'll try to keep this brief. I only had a few questions. First, I was wondering how you knew you could prevail in that battle, outnumbered and to all appearances outmatched in weaponry. Second, I wanted to know if you have experience working with others beyond that you've gotten here or have usually worked alone. Someone had to teach you your skill, at least. And lastly...well, I'm curious about what you want. I mean, all of your artifice and fighting has an end goal, right? Or is it simply the process or fight itself that matters? You don't have to answer that one, but I admit to some curiosity."

She noted the elven merchant's return out of the corner of her eye. Ah, good. With luck, I'll have the proof I need to force a confrontation and decision by everyone, and maybe get some real answers. She was still being more blunt than usual in her questions, but Gaige, she knew well by now, was simply not the type to get subtle hints.

Gaige (Tower)-An explanation

Gaige was a little thrown off when the elven woman, for once, asked reasonable questions and did not act like a commanding bitch. Still, they were reasonable questions, so she supposed she could answer them.

"Let me tell you a little about myself, maybe that'll help you out and answer your questions. I live on a planet called Pandora. Where I come from, people can travel across the stars in ships, to other worlds, we call those planets. On Pandora, just about everything wants to kill you. There's local wildlife, skags and stuff who just wanna eat you, 95% of the human population are bandits, completely nuts guys who want to kill you and take your stuff and do all kinds of weird things to your body, and then you got the corporations."

"See, in my universe, there's no real government, they got wiped out a long time ago, everything's run by corporations, think privately owned companies who operate on a massive scale, I'm talking the kind of guys who spend trillions of dollars per year and who can snap their fingers and summon private armies. The main guys we deal with on Pandora are jackasses called Hyperion, who were run by a sadistic nutjob called Handsome Jack. I'd be here all day telling you about how nuts and how much he did, but he's really evil and needed to die really badly."

"So, I'm one of what are called Vault Hunters. Total baddasses who hunt ancient alien vaults so we can take what's inside and make lots of money. Not that we did a lot of that, once Jack tried to kill us, we spent most of our time fighting his dudes and trying to kill him back. There are 5 other people I work with, a solder guy who used to work for another company's private army before he got kicked out for blowing something up he wasn't supposed to, a ninja guy who we don't really know anything about, besides the fact that he was probably an assassin, a short guy who really likes shooting things and giving off lame one liners, a Siren who used to be part of some cult before she killed them cause they were abusing her powers to secretly run a planet or something, and a really big guy who always was yelling about "BLOOD" and "MEAT" and that kind of thing, but he never hurt anyone who wasn't a bad guy so he was cool with us."

"But, ya, that's what we do, we fight bad guys, evil assholes who want to kill us and exploit people, that kind of thing, we take their stuff and sell it since, hey, it's not like they're going to be using it right? Stuff like that, where it looked like we were outnumbered and outgunned? Happens all the time to us. It's really not a big deal, that big tank was the main threat since he was a Badass, the rest were just grunts, you saw how much they did to us. I've always been good with robotics and stuff, it's like, tots my thing, and learning how to shoot was easy, it's really not all that different from playing an FPS once you learn where all the things on the gun are. And what do I want? Like I said, I like beating bad guys, doing cool things, getting lots of loot and cash. It's fun, and who doesn't like beating up evil assholes?"

Sabrina, Tower

Sabrina heard a number of things crashing to the ground and looked in the direction of the sound to find that Momiji and Kumagai had disappeared, but the supplies that the bear had been holding for them was thankfully still there. Sabrina sighed and shook her head in frustration.

"Looks like we are going to have to carry the supplies up to the next floor!" Sabrina yelled out to anyone who could hear her. "At least, we still have the supplies."
