Sabrina, Carriage Ride
"I could use one of my Pokemon to surprise Letrael as well," Sabrina said to Myrdin and the others, while holding one of her Pokeballs out to show them. She figured the attack would happen in earnest once the carriage crashed into Letrael, so she would need to summon one of her Pokemon while inside the horseless carriage.
Wizard Needs Food BadlyThe Kid frowned slightly behind his scarf as the man chuckled. Was the cat-man making fun of him? No, he seemed genuine. Wherever his is from, they must call Slingers something else. He called himself a pirate, though, and that was something the teenager knew. He had heard stories of them, sailing the oceans and preying on other ships. Maybe this one would need to be watched carefully. "I apologize, I did not think how others might not be familiar with the name. Slingers are gunslingers where I am from, people who fight using a set of pistols."
Now used to the taste, the sickening feeling and tastes of consuming the spirits was all but gone, and The Kid sat a little straighter. "These spirits are not normal spirits. They are made to... give the drinker different positive effects for a time after you drink it. They just do not have the greatest tastes or feeling."
Then, he turned to look at the magician. "This sword, what can it do? If we are going to be fighting someone carrying it, it would help to know."
The Skies
"No problem, follow me!" D.Va shouted at Reimu. "Get on my back and hold on tight. This ice has nothing on Mei when I eat her ice cream from the freezer!"She had her mech perform a pseudo-pirouette in the air in order to get into position near Reimu, and aimed her front at the angle the hail was going to be approaching.
"Defense matrix activated, prepare for approach at maximum speed!" she yelled, activating the defensive array on her mech to shoot down the incoming projectiles.
The 'maximum speed' in question involved cutting the majority of the thrust from her jets in order to utilize gravity to begin a controlled fall in order to meteor down towards Gaige.
Dark Elf Checkpoint - She's Coming Back
While Hana and Reimu plummeted to the battlefield like a meteor, another streak, this one closer to the ground and colored blue and white, launched itself forward off the ruins of the gate and, with inhumanly graceful footwork, began taking a more unconventional approach to the preoccupied Dark Elven forces. Her heels clanged harshly against the helmets and pauldrons of the infantry, but her landings were ultimately light enough that the armored combatants were merely solidly jostled or shoved as she continued to dash forward and maintain as much of her momentum as she could.
If the King's army was a sea, then KOS-MOS was running on water, each soldier she came into contact with nothing more than a glorified stepping stone on the way to her destination: Letrael himself.

The charging cavalry made Theron shudder. He closed his eyes for a moment and he was back in Ostagar, watching the wave of darkspawn crash into the Fereldan army. He opened his eyes. “Let us make haste!” he told Kashira, hoping that she did not catch his moment of discomfort.
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home.Deathtrap was about to move to defend Gaige from the arrow by moving in front of them when a giant mech jumped in and fired at them. Seeing this, Gaige pointed in the direction of the archers. "Ok DT, go get em!"
Deathtrap then started hovering in the direction of the archers, using is eye beam to try to suppress or kill the archers as it closed the distance to slice them apart with its energy claw. Meanwhile, Gaige ran out of the way of the falling mech as it hit the ground.
"Nice entrance!" Gaige yelled with a thumbs up.
Kashira Lavellan - Army of Light
Trying to delve through the weave of this world's magic felt like her hands were covered in grease. The Sword of Darkness was out there, a well of power such as she had rarely seen, and its black tide of strength had the rest of magic awash in shadow. It was hard to look beyond that and she had neither the time nor the skill to do so in the next moment. If only they'd had more time... But the battle was upon them and Theron's urging brought her back to that. Their scouts hadn't reported in, but then, what was there to say except that the enemy was there in all their number? They must have engaged as she had told them to if they saw the need. Now it was her turn.
"Stay close and keep the king in sight!" she answered, removing her staff from its magically held place on her back and twisting the reins about her free hand. The great red crystal on its tip caught fire and soon the whole end of her weapon was wreathed in flame. Bright her axe, unbreaking crystal, stirred to flame when temper flies, gifted from her leaf-eared lover, laughing lady of the skies. The ancient verse always came to mind when battle rose around them. She flicked the reins, dug in her heels, and Wildfire needed little urging to follow in the wake of the rest of the cavalry.
The charge itself was the first of its kind she had seen. In the war, the situation had always precluded it or they simply didn't have the horses. Her own clan's halla didn't have the numbers for such a grand display. And Creators help her, she loved it. The shrill cries of horses, the world shaking under their hooves, the shouts of the men atop them, it all wrapped her in awe. Lost in the tumult, she added her voice to the multitude. But for all that, she kept enough of her wits to stay focused on the Sword of Darkness and the King of Light and stay clear of the front lines, where all this glory would become blood and torn earth in the next moment.
A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent upon arriving. -Lao TzuMagician's Carriage
"Your suggestion holds merit, Captain," Myrdin replied. "But I fear that while my carriage has many strong abilities, it is not a war machine. I can not drive straight into the middle of King Letrael's armoured knights and battlemages and expect to make it more than a few feet. In addition, I would be loath to put myself in harm's way if I am to be successful in sealing the Blade of Darkness. No, I will get you as close as I can to the battle, but no closer."
"Now, the Sword itself. It taps into the primordial energies of darkness, which gives him a wide array of powers and abilities. At the same time, it has some kind of influence on the natural forces of earth and water, the realms of natural darkness. So be careful of it trying to twist the battlefield or command the water. In exchange, it should have little defences against the realms that naturally fall to the Sword of Light, that is fire and lightning."
The carriage started slowing down considerably as they approached the checkpoint, where the ruined palisade walls had large enough openings to allow a whole army passage. The front lines of King Letrael's armies were clearly visible on the other side as they struggled with the defending Climbers. Myrdin stopped the carriage on the outside near one of the openings, and opened the doors.
"Here we are, friends. I wish you all the best of luck, and I hope to see you on the other side. Also, be wary of King Aligels' cavalry approaching from the north."
Dark Elf Checkpoint
"...when I said "closer", I did not mean that we should jump right in," Reimu said with a sigh, adjusting her clothes after the rapid descent. "However, now that I am here, I can at least do something about this strange weather. Hold these back for a moment."
Deathtrap's attack was wildly successful, its eye beam causing massive damage against the lightly armoured elves and the energy claw ripping apart the survivors that could not flee fast enough. With both cavalry and archers defeated, the Dark Elf army on that flank seemed entirely at a loss of what to do, huddling back as they tried to consolidate their position.
On the other flank, Toph was facing greater opposition as the enemy used the shift in her defences to mount a new attack. Lightly armoured shock troops charged in under the earthern shield, ready to test their spears against her armour as they stabbed at her two at a time.
KOS-MOS' approach was not spotted before it was nearly too late, and she found a clear opening to start her novel traversal of the battlefield. However, King Letrael was not blind to the danger approaching, and he left his shield half-formed to strike against KOS-MOS. Slashing broadly with the Blade of Darkness, he launched a wide shockwave of dark energy over the crowd aimed at KOS-MOS. The attack came at roughly the height of her head, trying to avoid the soldiers below. But if she paused to duck and let it pass over her, she was in danger to lose her footing and fall into the crowd of soldiers below.
A vertical cylinder of light erupted from Reimu, who sent a glowing talisman into the skies' above. Suddenly, as if a faucet had been turned off, the hailstorm ceased and the clouds, while still broiling and swirling, grew at least a bit more quiet.
"That should help matters. I think we can attack now."
Charge of the Paladins
The roar of elves and horses continued as the knights of King Aligels surged across the fields south of Port Ismenia. They covered the distance fast, and soon the checkpoint came into view with its ravaged palisades and ruined watchtowers. And beyond that, the black tides of King Letrael's army, seemingly a wall of metal massing around the Climbers that stood against the ebon army. Then, a pillar of light pierced the skies for a moment, stilling the downpour ahead. In scant moments, the tide of white and gold would collide with the masses of black.

“I shall find a less-crowded avenue,” Theron told Kashira. When he surveyed the battlefield, however, he groaned, as there was no way for him to go around the ruined checkpoint and still be relevant to the fight; the hills it was built on did not look very inviting. “Scratch that.”
He looked at Kashira. “Creators ward you, Kashira Lavellan,” he said, and kicked his mare into a gallop; while he planned on dismounting on the first possible opportunity, he also hoped to use the confusion of the two lines clashing to slip into the shadows and (hopefully) avoid the worst of the fighting.
Checkpoint
-As the spearpoints strike Toph's metal shell, they twist and turn, flying off to stick onto the sides of her improvised helmet.-
Got your guts back, then? Oh-
-The drumming of hail on her shield abates and stops. Toph's mouth twists in a grim smile. Her earthen shield becomes a boulder once more, falling to the ground.-
-Drawing her ams back, Toph sends a shockwave through the earth, roiling underneath the army's feet like a wave in a harbor.-
Checkpoint
"Thank you, loyal fans, and D.Va loves you too!" D.Va called out after hearing her adoring fans cheering her on - or at least that's how she heard it, as there was mainly just one person complimenting her and one person making a passing remark. "Now let's get serious. I play to win!"She stomped ahead quickly in her mech, ahead of her allies so that the massive bulk of her robot would be between them and the approaching army. Spinning up the twinned rotary cannons on either side of the mech, she started sending out a veritable wave of projectiles at anyone who got close, and hopefully buying enough time for her allies to deal with the other threats.
Claw - Onto Battle
Well, that plan went up in flames. No matter. Myrdin provided them with some insight on what could hurt the dark king in particular. Here was hoping that gunfire counted as either fire or lightning.
"Appreciated. Thank you for your help, Mr. Myrdin." Claw nodded and hopped off the carriage, pistol one hand and cutlass in the other. It was time to look alive. "Off we go, 'tis a time to look alive!" He gestured at Kid and Sabrina to not dilly-dally.
Sadly, they had to make their way through the dark elf army. Claw wasn't the type to engage in such big battles; even any boarding scenarios would have many less combatants than this. Still, finally a chance to combat, something he liked to think he was good at. The way his fur stood, it seemed that accursed sword was that-a-way, through the wall of soldiers. Hopefully he - and the other two - could find cracks in that wall as they went.

The Battlefield
What followed happened in quite rapid succession. As D.Va moved forward to cover her allies, Gaige and Deathtrap were allowed ample room to assault King Letrael directly. His attention distracted by the sudden appearance of KOS-MOS and Toph destabilizing the earth, the King of Shadows was entirely blindsided by the small killer robot. The half-formed magic shield did little against the powerful attack of light and flame, and the death laser proved its name by melting a large hole in his torso and striking him dead before he even had the time to fall off his horse.
Reimu followed up on this development, lifting off from the ground and drawing a Spell Card from her repertoire. Five large orbs of light, each brightly shining with a distinct primary colour, circled her for a moment before bearing down on the corpse of King Letrael, homing in on the Sword of Darkness. The Fantasy Seal complete, the power of the God of Darkness was once more sealed.
To say that the officers of King Letrael's army were shocked by the loss of their commander would be an understatement. And it was this moment the Paladins of King Letrael chose to join the battle, the white and gold riders charging through the openings in the palisade. Immediately, the surviving officers called a surrender, and the front line troops fled so as to not get slaughtered before the Paladins got the message. The mages were notified and could send up a magical flare to signal their surrender, and the forces of King Aligels came to a halt only a few feet from the previous front line.
The King surveyed the battlefield, taking in the mounds of corpses that the Climbers had amassed, the demolished buildings and the great furrows in the earth rent by magic. In particular the area where Gaige and later D.Va's bullets had claimed entire companies of horsemen looked like the floor of a slaughterhouse. It was a sight that clearly made the King and his stalwart soldiers shocked, queasy...and more than a little afraid. Still, the white-clad King drew himself up and called out.
"What happened here? Where is my brother?"
Myrdin the Magician stepped out from his safe location and approached the king.
"Sire, your brother is dead, slain by these powerful outworlder heroes. The Sword of Darkness has been sealed, and already the touch of the dark god lessens upon our world."
Indeed, the darkness seemed less pressing, even in the low light of the setting sun. And the clouds above had calmed down and were starting to clear. All a product of the victory against King Letrael.
"I...I see," King Aligels said, and climbed down from his horse to approach the Climbers on the battlefield. "The Kingdom of Light...no, the entire world thank you for your efforts here, brave heroes. Now the world may have peace again."
In the meanwhile, Reimu had wandered over to King Letrael's corpse. His being dead did not bother her; in her eyes anyone who chose to wield the power of a god in such a way deserved what fate that bore with it. Daintily lifting up the hem of her skirt so as to not get blood on her, she picked up the Sword of Darkness and made her way back to Gaige and D.Va.
"That is one sword down," Reimu observed conversationally. "It is quite a powerful magical artefact, you know. I think if I or a magic user used this together with the Sword of Light, we could do practically anything."

Of all the battles Kashira had fought, all the skirmishes and ambushes she had cut through, none had come to a halt so abruptly and with so little fighting. One moment, she was thundering through one of the gaps in the palisade, trying to look everywhere at once, the next, the knights were slowing to a trot and then a walk, lances rising to parade rest, battle magics quieting. She did the same, and, approaching the center of the battlefield, found some of her companions, both the aerial scouts and those who had taken the other path. And, of course, the devastation they had wrought. What happened here? Did the Dark King's forces attack them? What kind of power do they have that can lay waste to armies?
Hearing the story would have to wait, though. She saw Reimu take the Sword of Darkness and walked Wildfire up to where the shrine maiden had gathered with the others. Deftly leaping down from the saddle, the fire upon her staff going out, she spoke first to the King of Light, bowing slightly.
"I am sorry that peace must come at such a bitter price, Majesty," she said. All those people, dead at our hands, probably for just following orders. "But such as it is, you honor us. If you will grant us an audience tomorrow, after we have recovered, there is much we wish to discuss about the future of the realm. With your permission, we would keep the Sword of Darkness safe until then. We fear what the temptations of such power might do to any entrusted with it, after such a display, but having had it used against us, we are not eager to see it used again."
If what the mage had said was true, and given what they had heard, matters were still not settled and there was more they did not know. They certainly couldn't just take the Swords and go without knowing what that would do to the world and she doubted that the King of Light would be willing to simply give up his own weapon, even after such a feat as they had just performed. She half turned and addressed the others in a lower voice.
"Is everyone all right? Is that agreeable?"
A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent upon arriving. -Lao Tzu"Anything..." D.Va muttered to Reimu quietly as she thought. "I think this is the next questgiver, let's check it out," she added to Gaige and Reimu and whoever else was near her before stomping off towards Aligels.
"Oh yes," D.Va said, gracefully stopping her mech near the King of Light and the others who had gathered around him. "You are most graciously welcome, Mister King of Light, Sir. We are always happy to help. And of course, like our magic elf friend said, we're willing to wait until tomorrow to have an audience with you, and then a long, drawn-out discussion about how best to approach-"
That was the moment that the mech's right foot suddenly came up, flying up at the King's crotch. "SECRET MECH DICKPUNCH FOOT TECHNIQUE! REIMU GET THE SWORD!" D.Va began shouting, her mech's speakers blasting out at maximum volume. "GET US OUT OF HERE! SHOP AT HOUSE EMERALDWAVE!"
Moments before, Gaige's ECHO would have an incoming message consisting of the phrase "Get ready to win, LOL" and a few emojis.
KOS-MOS — Assault
"Yes and no," KOS-MOS answered Kashira's inquiry laconically, face inscrutable except for a small frown, "It is good to see you again, Kashira, and I am glad you are well, but please excuse me for a moment." Stepping with deft feet around the elf and her mount, the gynoid trotted her way over to the remaining king, moving with swiftness over the fallen even as she took care not to trample on them.
"Aligels," she began, unburdened by adherence to lofty titles or even the difficulty of speaking intimately with a stranger as she stared softly up at him, "I do not truly know how this began; neither this engagement nor the contention between yourself and Latrael, nor the quarrel between the two Gods. I had hoped that we could reach a more peaceful resolution without bloodshed, but the combat was already well underway by the time I arrived. My intention was to simply disarm your brother, but I moved too slowly, and another took it upon herself to extinguish his life, instead. You have my condolences for the sudden death of your family and your countrymen, but moreover my most profound apologies. Even so, though you had been preparing to meet them in battle, it is my wish and sincere hope that you will welcome anyone here who lays down arms back into your realm. They are all and have ever been, after all, one people. One people, now with but one king." She lowered her eyes from his face to the ground. "I am truly sorry for all that you have lost today, but now, my companions and I must go. I do not think we will meet again. Goodbye, Aligels."
With those parting words followed by D. Va's utterly insincere ones, KOS-MOS's once perfectly placid hand shot forward without warning at the same time as the gamer girl's attack and, with incredible speed, took the hilt of the Sword of Light in an iron grip before pulling back with strength far, far beyond what her small frame would suggest and forcibly ripping the blade from its sheath and bindings. Her move doubtlessly successful thanks to the intervention Hana had blatantly tipped her off to over her own network, she quickly crouched to the ground and sprang backward in a flying leap to land just next to Reimu, then beckoned amiably to the miko.
"The Sword of Darkness, if you would kindly."

Kashira prided herself on quick hands and quick wits both. But neither one availed her against something so completely unexpected. Her mouth dropped open and she stood frozen for a crucial moment, watching the sight play out like a waking nightmare. The first thing to start working again was her mind. This was their plan all along. The way they never took anything seriously, the way they took the bluntest solution to everything, their focus on where the Swords were rather than what they were, all of it was leading up to this...this madness! And all the dead here? The battle? I thought they explained they were looking for the Sword and were attacked, did they just decide to cut their way through the entire army to get it? Or were they attacked and just decided violence was the answer to everything and never bothered to tell me? Oh, Creators, was that what the human was talking about back at the inn? Then, as she found her body responding again, she knew what she had to do. Still in the throes of profound shock and horror, she acted, shouting No! and drawing on her magic once again in the fade step.
Kashira's body turned ghostly, vanishing as she flung herself forward through the ether - the spell felt different, but there was no time to think of that as long as it worked - and emerged in a blur, appearing between Kosmos and Reimu. Her staff ignited again and with it came the all-consuming wrath, her reason fast melting away under the heat.
You don't know everything! Neither do they and they did this! What if they were attacked and defended themselves and learned something in the process? All they talk about is how they meant to take the Swords and leave! They must have a reason! There's no reason good enough! Many times, Kashira had swallowed her pride and anger and spoken to those she despised. The way in life was not to spit fire at everyone who did foolish things. These people had no great power behind them, nor had they shown any evidence of thought beyond getting what they wanted. They had lied to her, tricked her, and now they threatened a world in front of her eyes with no remorse. Now was not one of those times.
"Don't you dare give them that sword!" she snarled to Reimu. "You saw what it can do, do you want that power in the hands of the insane?" Then she turned to the others. "You can't want this madness, I won't believe that all of you would destroy an entire world out of greed and selfishness! You will do no such thing while I live!" With each word, her voice rose until she was screaming at the top of her lungs, her face dark with rage and her eyes green fire. Her staff's power flared as well, its flames burning brighter, the red-gold inferno laced with white-hot threads.
"Drop that sword and stand down, now! Or I swear by Mythal's vengeance, I will end you!"
She risked a quick glance towards Reimu.
"I beg you," she said in a voice scoured raw, holding out her free hand without looking back, "Give me the Sword and I will make this right. For the sake of every living thing on this world."

A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent upon arriving. -Lao TzuThe Battlefield
The Climbers' strategem was flawlessly pulled off, and the King of Light went flying several feet to land among his knights as KOS-MOS secured the Sword of Light. The Paladins were shocked, and a few dark knights saw a chance to flee, but the officers commanded the elven soldiers to stand back. The evidence of the Climbers' destructive power had been evident to begin with, and they now had both the Swords. Myrdin, however, seemed to be taking the developments in stride.
Reimu wasn't entirely convinced she could trust KOS-MOS with the Sword of Darkness, but that ended up being a moot point as Kashira moved to block her way and asked for the sword in turn. The Shrine Maiden opted for a sigh and a shake of her head.
"You both speak as if I would trust either of you with this thing," she said calmly, grasping the Blade tightly. "I would ask instead that you pass the Sword of Light to me and I will take us somewhere safe to discuss the matter."

-The soldiers cut and run. Despite her inclination to taunt and crow at them, the impact of dozens of hooves trampling the earth tells Toph she isn't responsible for the retreat this time. Somewhat miffed, she continues to her original target, only to hear screaming, sense agitated (and unknown) heartbeats, and feel a slight increase in temperature. Sighing deeply, she heads towards her teammates, remembering all too well the debates that saw the Sifurites at each others' throats with clockwork regularity.-
What's going on now? Aren't we leaving?
And who's that on the ground there?
Claw, Late To The Party
"...nobody dared listen when I called that wench insane earlier." Claw (and his entourage) missed the fight with dark knights of Letrael, for better or worse, and for now merely moved over back to where the other king would be. He figured that other Climbers would be there, trying to figure out how to get the sword from him.
He was of hope that they can just negotiate getting it from Aligels himself, but a part of him expected that some of his companions would try something else entirely.
"It's only regrettable that there's quite a few shrews like this among our ranks." He snarled upon arriving just in time to see the spectacle and be proven right on the worse outcome. His pistols clicked threateningly as he leveled them slowly at the troublemaking group (in this case, Reimu, KOS-MOS, Kashira and D.va). "All of you will stand down. This includes you, Miss Lavellan, because I cannot trust you to do the right thing when you scream for Gods threatening vengeance."
"Hand them over to the magician." He craned his neck slightly to gesture towards Myrdin with his head. "Then we will fix what we can and then be on our way."
The Battlefield — Theron
The assault ended as quickly as it has begun; it caught Theron in the middle of jumping from his saddle. He rolled as he hit the ground and came up with his swords drawn, only to see King Letrael already dead, his knights routing and the Sword of Darkness in the hands of Reimu. With a sigh he moved to sheathe his swords, but then KOS-MOS and D.va attacked King Aligels.
With a croak that was supposed to be a question, he moved forward, but the whole altercation was over by the time he closed the distance, swords once again in hand. "Magic," he grumbled, "why did it have to be magic?"
He looked at the gathered Climbers, sighed, and finally sheathed his swords. "Enough," he said. "Arguing will get us nowhere, nor will threats of violence. You" — he glared at Claw – "don't even think of it. Sheathe your bizarre crossbow." The elf turned to Kashira. "I don't need to tell you what magic gone wrong can cause, Kashira of clan Lavellan. Stand down." Despite his harsh tone, there was something similar to a begging look in Theron's eyes.

While most of the others were talking and both kings have relinquished their swords, Sabrina remained silent throughout the situation that was brewing, with her arms crossed and her eyes closed. Then Sabrina's eyes opened suddenly.
"Silence! There will be no more fighting!" Sabrina yelled out to the possible fighting that was about to happen, the message also psychically reverberating in each Climber's mind, though perhaps not for KOS-MOS since she is a robot, "There has been enough today, so stand down all of you!"'

Claw Has A Cunning Plan
"Appreciated, Mr. Myrdin." Ideally, he or either of his allies could kill or incapacitate Letrael from a distance somehow, but there had to be some way to ensure certainty of success.
From that train of thought Claw was distracted by The Kid. "Maybe if I had a sling, yes." He chuckled, holstering one and inspecting the other. "I'm just a pirate, governor. For the matter, is drinking just before battle that good an idea?" No doubt this wasn't any ordinary liquor, but the white-haired man did appear a little sick after drinking so many.
Now, back to the order of things. "Mr. Myrdin... how attached are you to this carriage?" The cat pirate cleared his throat before continuing. "The contraption seems fast enough and sturdy enough to even run the mad king over, but even if it didn't it would give us some additional edge to approach him."
"From what I understand it runs itself, so you could, if possible, leave it as it rides, so we can smash it right into Letrael. If that won't work, at least we have the element of surprise going for us." A beat. "Of course, I understand if you are against the idea."
