I'm kind of biased against escort missions, but I suppose that you can't really avoid adding one it at some point in your career.

Qui odoratus est qui fecit.Alright. So yesterday, I found a new stable, found another Hidden Memory, and finally took care of my Hearty Bass problem (though I'm down to just 1 now, but I know where to go to get more and can hopefully farm when I need to again).
Trying to decide what I want to do next. Might go for getting more Ancient Cores. I also want to both restock Arrows and make some Ancient Arrows. Then I'll work on my cash again, and then finally move on with the plot.
Edit: On a different note, what's a random food you'd have like to be able to cook in BOTW?
I say a Hot Dog.

One Strip! One Strip!Pizza. It'd require tomatoes and cheese to be a thing in the games, but just imagine it.
Switch FC code: SW-4420-1809-1805Late response is late but I went to Zora's Domain first so Sidon and the Ruta battle made the biggest impression on me and are thus my favourite.
Heart of StoneI also went to Zora's domain first off.
Also, just found this:
Feels like it's kinda familiar...I have to ask...did anyone try something like this?
One Strip! One Strip!I've heard of a few people doing it.
Ukrainian Red CrossIt seems to me that the game was designed to nudge people towards Vah Ruta before the other Divine Beasts. It's the closest one to Kakariko Village (which you're explicitly advised to head towards once you've gotten the Paraglider), and, when you come within a mile of the path leading to Zora's Domain, the Zora there grab your attention and point you towards Prince Sidon. By then, once you've started, you might as well keep going.
Switch FC code: SW-4420-1809-1805That, and the dungeon in general is easier and the boss is weaker than the other three. Plus, Mipha's Grace is just designed for low-health players. Ruta is definitely intended to be the first dungeon. Not just a nudge, but basically a shove.
Qui odoratus est qui fecit.I too went to Vah Ruta first, following the most obvious breadcrumbs. That said, not necessarily too closely. There were several cases where I decided to be headstrong and get to places that the game warned me against (like heading towards the tower near Zora's Domain, which you can do if you know the technique to climb in the rain and have at least two stamina wheels), which resulted in me probably being a little overpowered when I finally did Vah Ruta.
And yeah, I probably liked Mipha's Grace best of the champion powers (though Daruk's Protection is pretty awesome when you're trying to learn parry timing).
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. The what?
There’s a rain climbing technique? Seriously?
One Strip! One Strip! When climbing in the rain I found there was a predictable number of steps you could climb before slipping. Jumping right before you would slip gets you the most distance, even though you always slip after jumping.
Yep, it's still murder on your stamina wheel (less so if you have the climbing gear set bonus), but you can gain height in the rain by timing your jumps properly.
I got all the way to "find Teba" in the Rito village as my first quest, but chickened out because I thought it was going to send me into the depths of Hebra, so I turned around and did Vah Ruta first. Only afterward did I find out I was wrong and Hebra is a completely optional area. Combine that with some other exploring for towers and shrines, and I was also a bit overpowered for the Zora quest.

Mipha's Grace gets a little less useful as your heart meter builds and you learn about Hearty foods, though.
Of course, I've maxed out just about everything and done all but the boss fights for the Champion's Ballad (one of those "I'll get to it next time", then next time you wind up wandering semi-aimlessly things), so it's not that huge an issue for me... even before seeing the first full page (and then a few slots on the next) of the prepared foods tab is full of +2 heart foods.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpYup, Metroid 26 and Herald have it right. Count out how many steps up you take before slipping, and jump up right before you're due to slip. Though as I recall, the climbing gear doesn't actually help much - it just makes you move faster, so you get to the slip faster - but yeah, if you have the stamina wheels (or stamina-restoring food), the timing, and the patience, you can climb during the rain. You probably won't get too high, so either try climbing relatively short distances or try to find tiny outcroppings that count as standing (which happen more often than you might think) if you're going to try.
It's honestly not that useful - there's a couple of shrines you can get to earlier with it, plus a tower or two you can reach early (though the towers themselves have overhangs to keep them dry, so they're just as easily climbed in the rain), and there's a few areas where you can reach for harvesting regardless if you can do it. Oh, and it's a way to get into trees if need be (I've sometimes done that to set up ambushes). It's more something to do to see if you can (and one of the easier ones to do).
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Full climbing gear upgraded to at least L2 reduces the amount of stamina taken up by the jump. It's not a huge advantage, but will get you a little higher using the wet climbing technique.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpYou also get about two more steps before slipping, IIRC.
The rain caused by Vah Ruta doesn't reach Lanayru Tower, though. It's just east of it that the endless rain starts. Of course, it might be raining there anyway.
Yeah, bear in mind, rain only makes a difference on mountainous surfaces. "Laddery" surfaces, such as towers, are climbable without any trouble.
Qui odoratus est qui fecit. The obstacle for Lanayru Tower is a snowstorm and falling ice boulders. It's pretty easy to do.
Heart of StoneYou sure you're not thinking of Hebra Tower? Lanayru Tower doesn't have any icy conditions around it (nor do any of the others, at that).
All your safe space are belong to TrumpNot necessarily. Actual ladders don't use stamina to climb at all, unless you jump up them, and you can restore stamina by resting on them. Anything else that's climbable uses stamina and is subject to rain, including the towers. But the inverted-mushroom design of the tower top, with the wide flat surface, and the conical roof over the central openings, protects the tower itself from getting wet.

Not Hebra tower, either. Hebra Tower is just ice blocks at the base that you have to thaw. I think the falling ice boulders was the Gerudo Highlands.
I had forgotten about that. But I know you need stamina to climb ladders. One of the tower "challenges" is a straight climb with no platforms to stop at, and it's a test to see whether or not you have enough stamina, or enough stamina-restoring food.
Qui odoratus est qui fecit.Towers aren't ladders, though.
No; actual ladders (like the one on the side of the Temple of Time, for example) don't require any stamina to climb. The towers are just like any other climbable surface.

I liked Teba, too. Too bad he got the least characterization out of all of them.
Sidon's bit was pretty awesome, too. Honestly, all the leadups to the Divine Beasts were cool except Yunobo's, although to be fair, his wasn't bad at all for an escort mission. You can just leave him at the back and come get him once you've cleared the way.
