It might have been, but it's popularity faded enough for Konami to shill it off to American developers for a while. Silent Hill Homecoming never even had a Japanese release.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Of course when it finally returned to its homeland, Konami decided to Yank the Dog's Chain by cancelling Silent Hills.
Based on the symbolism shown, Death Stranding is going to be some real philosophical (probably even cosmological) shit.
That would fit Kojima's M.O. He's much more philosophical than psychological. His games like to make you think about the nature of reality, the world, and our place in it.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Well apparently, Konami's not totally out of the AAA game development arena yet... they might have something to show with PES 2017, (AKA Pro Evolution Soccer) according to their UK Public Relations firm.
And they do realize that the Fox Engine has value, and plan to use it in a future project.
Keep in mind though that Konami's notorious for sending out mixed signals to even their own internal departments. It's wholly possible this guy could've been talking out of his ass in order to try and give his client a positive PR spin.

Please for the love of God let them finish developing Silent Hills. It might end up being one of the best horror games in history. It's got Guillermo Del Toro and Junji Ito in it. I want to see that, so badly.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. No, thank you; I'm never setting foot in the Deep South. Place is unhealthy for brown people. It's the bog fumes, I'm sure.

Was Silent Hill ever that popular in Japan anyway?
This song needs more love.
