Tried to start watching this... got bored halfway through the first episode and switched back to watching Luke Cage.
Strange, that's about the same reaction I had to Luke Cage.
Well he's allowed to say he got bored halfway through the first episode and switched to something else. It's no less valid than saying Stranger Things was the best show of the year.
The two shows don't have much in common though, so it kinda sounds like "I didn't like the new episodes of Pokémon, I'd much rather watch American Horror Story".
What they have in common is unethical human experimentation and some sick-ass beats
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I just want to post to show my appreciation for the previous post. It made me chuckle.
I know buffy style openings are a thing, but that stranger things one was the best i've ever seen.
You lost!Just in time:

Millie Bobby Brown's return confirmed.
First image from Season 2◊ we will see a trailer during Super Bowl LI.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureThat's adorable.
A little bit of wee just came out.
Does anyone think there will be a Broken Masquerade? There's no way that the feds will be able to cover up a bigass monster like that.
Maybe, although I have a small feeling it could be a dream sequence, or take place in the Upside-down.
This is the best show of all time.
Of all. Time.

This nostalgia-grab is just shameless and actually turn me off. Feels very cheap.

Maybe it's because I'm young enough that the 80s have absolutely zero nostalgia for me, but it just seems like painting the setting.
The entire series thus far has been one big shameless nostalgia grab. I'm not sure what your objection is.
Probably need to stop watching these trailers if I want to be surprised, though. I was already locked in on this one. It's cool that the focus is on Will here, though. Nice that that actor is getting a turn in the spotlight after being necessarily absent most of the first season.
Yeah, but this show is just trying way too hard. It's The Theme Park Version of The '80s Up To Eleven. Or even up tu Eleven thousand. It's break immersion - I know the world back then wasn't like that.
Because of the arcade, Ghostbusters, and Michael Jackson? I think you underestimate how significant those things were in eighties culture. Thriller and Ghostbusters really did come out within two years of each other and were massively popular, arcades really did look like that, big spinning signs used to be cheap enough that even tiny nowhere towns like Hawkins might have one.
I dunno, I'm just not getting what's so unbelievable or theme park about this. Seems pretty down to earth.
Not gonna lie, I went absolutely nuts when I heard verses from "Thriller". I wasn't born until after the 80s, but I still feel nostalgia charm for some reason. In my opinion, the fact that the show is a giant love letter to the 80s makes it unique. Especially considering the fact that the show is incredibly well-made.
