Trailer looks neat. Though I worry that it gave away the main plot of the film. Do we have a trope for that?
Well, I've seen it tonight and I have to say it was a very entertaining heist film with a twist of revenge and a clever method of getting rich without getting caught with one of the most valuable necklace in the world. The "The Toussaint" necklace was a diversion; The real target was the collection of lesser but still valuable jewelry in the other room.
I recommend it for people tired of big budget explosive films but still want some action for the summer.
So...half the thread for this female fronted film is people bashing a different female fronted film. This isn't the Ghostbusters thread. Maybe do us all a favour and take that somewhere else? Like it's own thread, if it hasn't been locked?
As for trying to make cracks about how unoriginal this film is, there was nothing original about the "original" film, which was itself a remake. So that accusation carries less water than a cheese grater.
I'll probably go see this one. Even if it's bad, my spending money on it will upset the MRA crowd and that's automatically cash well spent.
If that was to any degree a serious question and not 100% rhetorical, because it threatens their fragile sense of masculine superiority.

Please do everyone here a favor and take this somewhere else.
This film is not getting anywhere near that bad of misogynic bashings. If it is, it's certainly expressed by anyone here in this thread.
That reminds me of my confounded reaction when I heard the announcement of the Magnificent Seven remake. I was like, "Wait, so they are remaking the remake?"
That said, considering how Clooney's version is vastly more successful, both commercially and critically, while having much more impact on pop cultural unconsciousness, one can be forgiven for thinking that Clooney's version is the original. If nothing else, it's gonna last far longer than Sinatra's version.
So far I'm mostly hearing good things about this film. It has its flaws, but seems like worth my time.
Although, I'm not quite sure if I need to see this film on theater, rather than DVD. I was originally planning to watch Jurassic World 2 on theatre, but if I decide to not to, I might go with this one.
I miss the time when I could afford to go to theatres to watch films multiple times a month. -sighs-
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.I saw the movie, was really cute. The heist is admittedly written weirdly, and seems to be missing some parts, and there's a few moving parts that were just not executed well (in terms of movie language) but I laughed quite a bit.
Read my stories!First of all, that's hardly a misogynistic bashing.
Secondly, even if it was he suddenly doesn't represent "many straight males." You are also assuming gender, so shame on you.
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.Dude I don't know where you think you're allowed to arbitrate what counts as sexism and what doesn't, but it ain't cute.
Read my stories!

While I hate Ghostbusters 2016 as being incompetent and unfunny, this looks pretty good for what it is. I hope I’m right because the talent here is really good and the previews all look fun.
