[up] Kama was co-written by Minase and Nasu, so it would make sense if Ooku was co-written by the two. And I feel like it is safe to say that most interludes are written by the character's authors. Like I think Narita did conform that they wrote Enkidu's interlude.

Huh they just updated the game to change up Dioscuri's profile a bit. Didn't know that plagiarism accusation would work.

Yeah, they never hid that every interlude is written by their character creator.

As for Oo-oku being Minase's, I only read the first floor of the labirynth so I can't say if there'll be any part written by Nasu, but the portion I already read has the following Minase fingerprints:

  • Highly sexual themes.
  • Relevant presence of Minase characters (Sheherazade and Kama).
  • While all other writers only include the inner thoughts of other characters in scenes explicitly outside of Fujimaru's first-person perspective, Minase alone constantly peppers his Fujimaru scenes with characters thoughts in parenthesis.

The first two traits are shared with Kinoko since Kiara and Parvati are Kinoko characters, but the third is the most identifiable Minase trait and every scene I've read gave us access to Kiara's inner commentary, so it's safe to say at least the entire first floor of Oo-oku is by Minase.

Consort Yu mats

A bloodsucking species that acquires nourishment through energy drains. They are not a kind of Demonic Beast or Phantasmal Beast, but terminals that originated from the Earth’s inner sea for the sake of managing its surface… They are Elemental Spirits. In the magic world, this species of Elemental Spirits are close to a category of being that is called a “True Ancestor”, but although the process of how they originated resembles that of a True Ancestor’s, they are another kind of bloodsucking species with their purpose as an existence differing from theirs.

This kind of distinction still feels really weird to me :|

The distinction I was thinking about is between True Ancestor and what Yu is

Xians aren't really considered vampires either last time I checked, but I haven't finished reading the Shan Hai Jing so I dunno maybe there's some obscure thing in there that could be interpreted as that

Does Nosuverse have an origin werewolves? I just learnes the term Lycan came from Lycaon from Greek mythology.

Could easily be used as a Servant.

Edit: Of course he has a Roman counterpart.

Minase seems like the sort of suthor who can write perfectly good stories as long as there's someone to keep the guy on a leash.

You'd be surprised how common that is, editors are a unfairly demonized bunch.

I'm torn about the art contest. On one hand I'm kind of upset that I can't participate since I'm from Africa, on the other I'm not feeling well and at my current level it's unlikely that I'd have won anywho. Still...

Yu's mats just reaffirm my love for Gucchan-Senpai!

[up]x4 It just amazes me because... just look at Agartha! Look at the bullshit he pulled, what he initially did to Schez and Wu, all the crap he's pulled with that sort of shit! I was able to rationalize Schez getting such better treatment by thinking it was a different writer who penned her afterwards, but seeing that he wrote for Tell and Asclepius, and now learning that he did write Schez's interlude and wrote for Ooku?! I just can't fathom how someone like this can write some of the best and some of the worst things to come out of Fate!

As I said, leash.

In EOR each author was given carte blanche to do whatever the hell they felt like, which is why the chapters were all over the place.

[up]Well, Agartha wasn't popular in Japan, either.

I think the funniest part of the mats 8 revelation about Minase being involved in LB 4 is that everyone immediately tried to figure out whether he wrote Pepe or not.

It lends credence to that "two writer per Lostbelt" theory that got brought up back a while ago.

Well there's also the fact that Agartha was written a year before Schez' interlude and two before LB 4, plenty of time to self reflect and improve.

Heavens knows the 180° I've pulled in opinions on things I've written/drawn in just a year, and I didn't even need people to tell me my stuff was shit to get there

This kind of distinction still feels really weird to me

One of the worst elements of SIN (if not the worst) is how Urobuchi makes insane connections between Type-Moon original lore and Chinese myth then plays coy with it when he realized he went too far. I really imagine Nasu's editing involved in the latter part though. Here's a rundown of the full process.

    SIN spoilers
Yu is first established as a True Ancestor then Shi Huang calls her a Zhenren, establishing "Zhenren equals TA", and since the highest level of Elemental is equal to the highest level of Xian, Xians are a kind of Elemental. So far so good. Everything adds up well enough.

Next Koyanskaya reveals that the poison she used on Fujimaru and Goredolf is made from the Fusang Tree's bark and she needs to collect more of that to make the antidote. Considering a poison made with that would take 10 days to kill Goredolf, it initially feels like Urobuchi is really downplaying how impressive the Fusang Tree should be. Keyword: initially.

He soon ammends that by revealing that the Xians are born as living fruit of the Fusang. Old lore states that Gaia created the True Ancestors by copying Brunestud's biology but it never said anything about the process used to give birth to them, so them being fruit people doesn't actually contradict anything.

Even so, we get some throwaway commentary that da Vinci and Koyanskaya only call Yu a "True Ancestor" because the Zhenren species is functionally a TA in every level abilities-wise, with their only real difference being their origin. Basically, this whole flimsy excuse is there just to say Crimson Moon bootlegs don't grow out of trees but something completely identical to those does. If anything, I'd believe Nasu would actually like the fruit people concept for opening doors for True Ancestor Momotarou in the future, but I guess I can't argue against the evidence.

What really makes this an even bigger mess is the reveal of where Akuta was hiding her Fantasy Tree. She kept it growing the whole time in the dimension inside the one Fusang Tree in Shi Huang's collection. The tree having a whole dimension inside it is weird but makes sense few minutes later with Akuta casually calls her Fantasy Tree "my origin" and "the remains of what was once the last Fusang Tree" and shows that it has a whole galaxy inside it.

With only the latter statement we could assume it's referring to how Mayall was grown inside the Fusang, but with the two tree clearly displaying similar traits of having whole dimensions inside and Yu explicitly calling Mayall "my origin", it becomes evident that Fantasy Trees are dead Fusangs. So basically, I strongly believe the Tianxian/True Ancestor split happened because Nasu just couldn't let Urobuchi just go "True Ancestors are born from proto-Fantasy Trees". Yu, on the other hand, was an original Urobuchi character attached to the Lostbelts plotline so her coming from her Tree is not as much of an issue.

Does Nasuverse have an origin werewolves?

Petty much the only thing we know about werewolves is that they descended from a golden werewolf, and they have been in a decline due to no other golden werewolves appearing (there are also silver werewolves). A tribe of them thought that Lugh Beowulf was a werewolf, but when they found out he was just a nature spirit they sold him off to Touko.

@Nouct, regarding Yu-senpai's design, I think the point is that the Stage 2 art was designed first (the stripperiffic dress), and then the artist worked from there to make the Stage 1 (add cloth under the dress, add glasses, restyle her hair) and the Stage 3 (add the jacket on top of the Stage 2 look). I don't think that statement was meant to mean that Paisen's outfit was ever meant to be skimpier than her Stage 2 already is.
