If you really want to be pedantic, the Huns were half Proto-Mongols, from the portion of the northern Xiongnu that were expelled by the Han, with the other half being the many steppe peoples they encountered through their three centuries of journey to the west.

Edit:

I was wondering when I was going to make another top page.

Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, maybe we should try to find the absolutes that tie us.

I think raziel making a top comment with no context can officially be considered a Running Gag.

And frankly, Attila=Alien=Racism is something I don't see the connection. If I would call any character in FGO as racially insensitive, it would be Karna, who's supposed to come from mythical India and yet is lily white.

[down]Yeah, but Gil comes from FSN, so I consider it the fault of that game, not this one.

There’s an old fan image of Gilgamesh and Arthur including the Ikkitousen girls where Gilgamesh is depicted as he is in Sumerian art, glaring at Fate Gil who’s nervously downing his beer.

Him being blonde and red snake eyes I’m almost certain is a callback to True Ancestors.

Karna's designed to contrast Arjuna in every way. And Albino's exist no matter the skin color. Just as it does for animals.

Isn't Karna white because of his dad being a sun deity and fusing sunlight with his skin?

If we want to point fingers, it would be better to do so at the author of Fate Apocrypha.

It would more accurate to say that Arjuna's design was made to further cast him as a foil of Karna, salvaging the latter's design from Unfortunate Implications in my opinion.

Edit:

On second thought, maybe not so much, but at least it has an artistic reason.

Okay, I know I gushed quite a bit about Babylonia thus far, but this moment was just too great for me to remain quiet about it.

I'm speaking, of course, of Gramps Big Damn Heroes and the speech he gives:

Ziusu-dra: All that begins must end. So, too, all that lives, dies, and in dying, value finds. Thy vaunted eternity is but hollow slumber. Beast of Disaster, evil born of mankind's folly, thy desperate wish that thy love not go unrequited is itself thy rejection's root. Of rank, nor station, nor the title Grand have I need. Bear witness, goddess of life, to the testament writ with mine own blade. Thou fallen god, to beasthood turned, if Primordial Mother be thy title, attend, and hear my name. From the mountain abyss, I come, and only death do I bring. I am the Old Man of the Mountain, the First Hassan-i Sabbah. The bell of evening tolls thy name. Touch not the sky, for by heaven's will I shall strip thee of thy wings!

Okay, DW, ya beat me, I'll roll for him...next september.

Because there is no conceivable manner I can save enough quartz from tomorrow until January.

Thiiiis is what I get for posting on three hours of sleep. Sorry about that, everyone.

Also, I appreciate the Shakespearean touch on that speech. I would tweak a bit here and there, but that's solid work.

Yeah, but it's still unlikely.

Also saw some interesting fan waking about a possible link between the Abrahamic God and the end of the Age of Gods in the Nasuverse. To quote:

Probably very powerful, but honestly that’s the least interesting bit. The far more interesting bit is his relationship with the Age of Gods. The Age of Gods began it’s decline with good ol’ Gilgamesh severing the connection between the gods and humans, and the decline finally ended with the complete disappearance of all non isolated divine spirits. The date given for the definitive end of the Age of Gods? The 1 A.D, the year of our lord. Everything past the age of Gods is Anno Domini, referring to Jesus, son of the abramahamic god.

This is either A. Just a coincidence of B. A sign that the abrahamic god, or his son, have something to do with putting the final nail in the coffin of the Age of the Gods.

[up]What are you apologizing for?

Also, you went to sleep over 1 AM, didn't ya?

I'm sure you don't need some random asshat saying that to you over the internet, but that is a pretty bad habit, you should try to fix your schedule to get at least six hours of sleep, with seven being the recommended amount.

Technically not fully correct as we learn it was Attila the Alien supeweapon who kickstarted the decline when she killed most of the Divine population and a human with a time travelled Excalibur slew her.

Well, three hours is an exaggeration. Generally I get 6 or 7 because I wake up for work at 8:30.

Anyway, yeah, that speech is good. One of the coolest moments in a Singularity final that is basically nothing but cool moments. I'm predicting now that that will be the end of an episode in the anime - depending on how many episodes they make it.

It's been fun.

Wait, it's gonna be a full series? Because if so, it relieves me of one of my biggest concerns about it, namely the length.

I mean, being honest, Fuyuki had too little story for it's length, and even its adaptation struggled a bit under the 1:30 hours runtime.

Babylonia is probably my favorite story section so far, barring a few nitpicks I have. Very happy that they had those more lighthearted moments at the beginning. Overwhelming darkness kinda loses meaning when there is nothing to contrast it with.

It will be an anime series, yes. Anichart doesn't have any info on the length yet, but I would expect 12 or 14 episodes unless they intend to get everything.

Granted it’s by a studio I’m not very confident in but alright.

Ideally it would be 24 episodes with a decent amount of Adaptation Expansion on the Uruk slice of life.

[up][up]

They have to, that's part of why Babylonia is the best Singularity to adapt, without those early moments, much of the impact later on is lost.

We can also expect a brief flashback to Camelot's end, when the Lion King tells us where the last grail is.

Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, maybe we should try to find the absolutes that tie us.
