Criterion's website lists 826 as the highest of the spine numbers
, which makes me think we can fit 50-100 in each folder.
Titles included in box sets don't seem to have numbers, though, so those would probably have to go in a separate folder.
While starting to add the spine numbers, I hit a snag:
When I opened Criterion's official list of movies, I noticed it skips some numbers. At first, I thought the skipped titles included the laserdiscs that Criterion has yet to upgrade to DVD or Blu-Ray. However, when I visited Wikipedia's list of Criterion laserdiscs
, I realized that some titles have the same spine number (eg, Citizen Kane has #1 on its laserdisc, and Grand Illusion has #1 on its DVD), and there also exist some titles that changed their number for other formats (Grand Illusion originally had #25 on its laserdisc). So, now I wonder if it seems easier just to folderize this page by letters.

I don't think it's fair to axe the director's list because the main list is too big and broad and confusing for people to get a handle.
Having a director's list allows them to navigate it better.
I say having a minimum number (3 or more films) is useful. That would remove a number of directors on this list. We should also remove LD only directors and focus solely on DVD/BR, i.e. films in active circulation.

Does it seem necessary to reformat this page to match such articles as Creator.Magnetic Video and Creator.Warner Home Video, by rearranging the movies by their spine numbers, and adding the dates on which Criterion released each one on a new format?
