don't forget about the classic "I do believe that's a violation of my right to speak!"◊, which has quite a lot of meme potential
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic SocialistRegulus' desires are simple, but he's quick to descend into murderous rage if you do even the slightest thing to defy him. When he wants something, he wants it, and will beat you down until you give it to him.
Sometimes all he wants is to be spoken to politely. But the nature of his Greed is that even that can quickly descend into a lethal encounter.
This continues the pattern set up by Subaru and Betelgeuse- you can't beat Betelgeuse unless you're diligent and careful, constantly on the outlook for his hands and killing all of his bodies. And if you dismiss Subaru as beneath your notice and not worth worrying about, he will find a way to beat you sooner or later. To beat the Archbishops of Pride and Sloth, you must take care to not fall victim to Pride and Sloth.
So for Regulus- if you free yourself from desire and just acquiesce to his every demand, you can survive him. Although you can't quite call that beating him...

That's actually a really good way to look at it, yeah.
It's been fun.Through that theory, I would be interested in how Subaru would then face the other archbishops, like lust or wrath.
The Final NameBecause the anime takes out a fair amount of Regulus' dialog from the first encounter, it makes it clear that Regulus' view of himself is super entitled like he's a sovereign citizen. Even claiming that he desires so little, so it's selfish of other people to deny his rights some of his few possessions.
That just reminds me of some privileged karen which is quite the funny visual.
The Final NameNew episode. I actually gave a small round of applause at the end it was so good. Also as an anime only person, was that a reveal that Fortuna is Puck?
So I'm going to take that question as you actually wanting an answer. If I misread that, don't highlight the spoiler I'm about to drop, because it's answering the question SebasianGrey just asked. No, Puck's a different person as far as we know. I theorize that one of the lesser spirits that was hanging around tiny Emilia grew into Puck. Though I do see where you're getting that from.
But now, dragging myself out of LN spoiler zone and back into regular anime spoiler zone: Shima be like, we interrupt this flashback to bring you a totally different flashback. Thank you, you may now return to your regularly scheduled flashback. And poor Guece losing the superpower lottery. Invisible hands don't look like much next to re-writing reality and whatever Regulus was doing.
Yeah, I don't care much about being spoiled so thanks for that
Yeah Shima's flashback didn't really give us any new info so it kinda felt like padding, but it was also kinda worth it because the continuation of Emilia's flashback was excellent.
I'm thinking Geuse lost the lottery because he might not be that compatible with the Witch Factor? And I'd really like to learn what Regulus's power is and what Pandora's whole deal is.
I am guessing that Pandora will be the Big Bad? I think that because Satella feels more and more like a wild card rather than main villain.
The Final NameIf I wasn't told about it already, I would have never known Pandora was Rie Kugimiya was voicing her. She's definitely stepped out of her type cast.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Oh damn, I thought her voice was familiar. The lack of tsundere threw me off.
Probably. A girl named Pandora and a mysterious sealed thing, that’s a recipe for disaster.

Aha! So Geuse is a spirit!
"It's just like... a series of overlapping curses..." - Flower Knight Dakini@fillerdude I can say two things about Regulus's power.
It is absurdly broken, and Wordof God is because of it he would be the only survivor of a fight between all of the Witches and Archbishops.
found this amazing Re:Zero video:
and this video is a follow-up to this video:
don't worry, there are no spoilers beyond the anime in the videos
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic Socialistanother 10/10 episode from Re:Zero and yet another 29:30 episode
and we finally get to see why Guese turned out the way he were when we met him and why the forest froze. Pandora is terrifying, being both a reality warper and manipulative, watching season 1 is gonna hit different now. and Emilia froze the whole forest, leaving the seal intact, a mystery for another arc
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic SocialistNot just season 1 but the bit in episode 15 in particular where he kills Rem and gets stuck saying "you" over and over again while crying to Subaru as he tells Subaru that by doing nothing Subaru killed Rem with Betelgeuse's hands.

Holy cow I'm still amazed at how people can catch little details like that. It was rough seeing Geuse break down.
I still love how Echidna hates Emilia, and gets aggravated that Emilia is being buddy buddy with her anyway.
Pandora is boring. The thing with reality warpers or illusion masters is that you always have to wonder about all the things they could have done to accomplish their objectives. Like why didn't Pandora pose as Fortuna in the first place to tell Emilia to open the gate? Then she actually thought Emilia would open the gate because... Fortuna's dead therefore her promise had become invalid? I mean I guess she's a Witch so she can get away with being out of touch and crazy, but she's hardly what I'd call terrifying. She's only getting by because of her ability.
And damn, Subaru telling Roswaal to surrender. Hell yes. Things are going to get spicy.
I do appreciate the Sin-connected characters for maintaining such clear lines of logic in their madness, though. It very much illustrates what Subaru means when he calls them "inhuman", and it's not just about their physical bodies.
I don't really think Pandora is very interesting either, but she's one of those characters, like Regulus or some of the Witches, who basically demand that everyone else in a scene react accordingly to her. These characters tightly constrain what can or can't be done and act almost more like environmental hazards than characters.
It's been fun. From what I've read, Pandora is likely the Big Bad of the story....or at the very least, the story's most active antagonist.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.It helps there's a lot of them and the time loops show stuff often so it can set things up. Like Emilia crying after killing one of Betelgeuse's followers.
according to Tappei, there are rules to her powers, but they haven't been revealed yet (i have no idea if they've been revealed yet in the LN/WN though)

I routinely misidentify Regulus as the Pride Archbishop because of his attitude.
It's been fun.
