Koras lowered his horns, snorted softly, and pawed at the ground with his leg. He readied himself to cross the water with a burst of speed if a fight broke out.
Readying a dash action to charge at the people across the water if they attack us.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.Shortly after getting to the river, the sound of Nukklebud's boots in the muck caused three faces too look up at him.
An elf with a heavy crossbow leveled in front of him called out "Oy, who gossit?" He scowled as he looked at Nukklebud.
"Aye! What's the big idea, tiny?" another voice shouted, this one belonging to a human with another crossbow and an equally menacing look.
The third person - a rough-looking and blood-covered halfling with an axe nearly twice his height - simply hissed at the dwarf while his hands gripped at his axe.
Phara braced herself next to the huge minotaur, ready to follow his charge if their companions' words failed to convince the others. It was possible that this group had nothing to do with their task, and if they could avoid a fight, it would be all the better.

Vanis held his breath as the three miscreants caught sight of Nukklebud - because if he had spoken, he would've groaned in dismay. There was nearly no-one in the party as charismatic as Vanis El-Tosca, Mighty Pirate (okay, maybe the tiefling, but he'd be damned if he admitted it), but if there was one person whose chances he didn't fancy when it came to diplomacy, it was the shifty-eyed dwarf in a tin can.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Having seen all of this go down, Grant was rather unimpressed. With a groan, he severed his connection to his imp and stepped out of the shadows, walking in next ton Nukkelbud. He gave the... bandits? Hunters? Whoever they were, he gave them only his most winning smile, and put his hands in the air. "Gentlemen, please, there's no need for those. We were simply passing through en route to a group of local unsavories we're tracking, when, as my colleague said, his small companion slipped loose. Let's put the weapons down and talk this out, aye?"

The two men with crossbows simply glared at Nukklebud, but the halfling stopped hissing and spoke up. "Aye, it is the saddest of days when a man is separated from his pet rat."
"Whatdya mean tracking unsavories?" the elf quickly said to Grant when the tiefling spoke.
"The whoreson means us, ya idiot! They's found us!" the human shouted. "Ya neve' shoulda come 'ere!" he yelled at Grant, firing his crossbow at the Warlock, and then muttering a few curses when his bolt missed its mark.
Combat Round 0: All readied actions for both parties activate.
- Unsavory Gentleman 1 (the human) fires crossbow at Grant.
- Roll(1d20)+2: 6,+2 Total:8, miss.
- Koras uses readied action. Charges at U1 and makes a horn attack.
- Roll(1d20)+2: 7,+2 Total:9, miss.
- Phara uses readied action.
- Roll(1d20)+3: 3,+3 Total:6, miss
- Unsavory 2 (the elf) fires crossbow at Grant.
- Roll(1d20)+2: 1,+2 Total:3, guaranteed miss.
- Unsavory 3 (the halfling) attacks Koras with Great Axe.
- Roll(1d20)+5: 16,+5 Total:21, hit.
- Deals Roll(1d12)+3: 6,+3 Total:9 damage. Koras is reduced to 15 health.
Notes:
- Tiles that contain blue represent shallow river water, and count as difficult terrain. (Require double movement to pass through, equivalent to consuming two squares of movement per square)
- The brown squares in the river in Rows 10 and 11 represent a naturally-formed crossing in the river where movement is not impaired.
- The icon in square C-12 represents a campfire.
Combat Round 1: Adventurer's Turn
With a bellow, Koras charged on all fours, intending to gore the unsavories with his horns once he arrived. He thrust his horns forward, just enough for the unsavory to duck out of the way of the strike and hit him with a strike of their own. The axe cleaved into Koras' flesh and he roared in pain. His head went down to glare at them, then he let out a bestial-sounding howling noise into the sky. In the blink of an eye, his posture shifted as he grew in size, his horns retracting into his body as he grew bigger and his tail became longer and more furry.
Finally, a huge brown wolf the size of a horse stood in front of the unsavories. Snarling, Koras in wolf form savagely bit at the halfling who slashed him with the axe.
Koras uses wild shape to turn into a dire wolf. He now has 37 hit points. As a dire wolf is a large beast, the top left corner is at F12 where he was standing originally. Koras attacks using a bite attack (+5 to hit) for 2d6 + 3 piercing damage. Due to the dire wolf's pack tactics, Koras has advantage on the attack roll since an ally (in this case Nukklebud) is within 5 feet of U3 and he isn't incapacitated. If the attack hits, U3 must make a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.Nukklebud swore as his rat story was blown to bits by Grant's words. He was going to feel a bit bad for hurting the poor halfling who had coincidentally also been separated from his pet rat but oh well. It was better than letting them get away to attack them later. With a sigh, Nukklebud raised his axe and brought it down on the closest brigands shoulder - trying to go for a less than lethal blow to interrogate him for later.
Attack U3. Handaxe does 1d4+4 damage. Dueling +2 to damage rolls when wielding a melee weapon in one hand and no other.
Oi, oi, and I thought I was the impulsive one. "Unsavoury characters with savoury beef? Sounds like a recipe for disaster," Vanis mocked, dashing into the fray and thrusting his daggers at the nearest thug's face. "Hope you don't mind if we join in."
Bonus action: Dash, Move to E10, Attack U3 with main hand dagger (Attack roll 1d20+5, Damage 1d4+3+2d6, Move back to H11. If U3 is dead, move to E11, attack U2 with same rolls, move back to H11.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Grant sighed, hands still up. In hindsight, he wasn't sure whether he underestimated these folks intelligence, or overestimated it, as they couldn't even shoot him properly at point blank range. Resigned to requiring action, he glanced over to the individual who tried to shoot him, casting a stare so withering , it would make even the most stalwart of characters crumble.
Casting Ray of Enfeeblement at previously mentioned bandit.
Phara darted forward, attempting to attract the attention of the crossbowmen and cause them to waste arrows on her shield-or at least prevent them from shooting one of her comrades. Once she gets close enough to one of them, she will follow up on her earlier statement and attempt to "splatter his brains."
Attack U1 with Mace. +5 to attack, 1d6+1 damage.

No sooner had he pulled his axe back to ready another attack, the halfling had to deal with Koras slamming into him and biting into his flesh. Despite this, he exhibited the tremendous strength of one who had spent his whole life living for battle, not so much as moving an inch backwards from the force, nor flinching as teeth dug into his shoulder. He simply smiled as the wolf retreated, and cackled as Nukklebud brought his handaxe down. The blow glanced off his head, a slight trickle of blood coming from his forehead. Even Vanis's dagger, which carved a devastating wound along his neck and upper chest, did little to dissuade his mad laughter.
Gripping his axe handle, the halfling could only cackle in lunacy. "So generous, allow me to return the favor!" he shouted as he brought his axe to bear, slamming it down onto Nukklebud's head.
Meanwhile, the two others hastily dropped their crossbows to the ground, replacing them with their maces and beginning to assault the adventurers. One, however, was looking a little worse for the wear after being assaulted by Phara's mace and Grant's magic.

Combat Round 2, Adventurers Turn

Koras snarled in pain and fury as the brigands attacked him. He let out another howl, as green mist swirled around him. Where the mist touched, it began to patch up his wounds. Koras then looked back down at the halfling, growling angrily and taking another lunging snap at him.
Using combat wild shape, Koras expends one of his two 2nd-level spell slots to heal 2d8 damage. He then attacks U3 using a +5 bite attack (with advantage from pack tactics), dealing 2d6 +3 damage on a hit and requiring a DC 13 Strength save vs knocking prone.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.Vanis widened his eyes as the halfling took a knife to the face without even flinching... and winced as the greataxe slammed squarely onto Nukklebud's noggin. "Uh... good job, soldier. You keep doing that." He ducked around the dwarf and stabbed again, aiming for the halfling's eyes this time.
No shame in fighting dirty as long as you survive, right?
Move to E10, attack with main and off hand, move back to H11. If U3 is dead, move to E11 and attack U2 with the same sequence before moving back to H11.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Taking a few steps to the right, Grant finally lowered his hands and unleashed a wave of dark fire at one of the other bandits. He was genuinely hoping it wouldn't have to come to this. They could just talk things out, and trick the bastards into walking unarmed into town if it came down to it. But alas, that was not the way things were meant to be.
His summoned imp moved forward, chattering incoherently as it flew next to Koras.
Grant moves to M10 and casts Eldritch Blast at U3. Imp flutters to E14 to assist Koras' next action
Once again, the halfling stood steadfast as Koras slammed into him with his teeth, madly clutching his axe, though this time his knees slightly buckled. Another blow came down on his head from Nukklebud, causing him to start to stagger. It seemed as if he were gearing up for yet another brutal swing of his weapon, but the twin strikes from Vanis's blades and Grant's Eldritch assault finally appeared to be enough to finish him off. He sank to his knees, his hands gripping at his weapon's shaft as he attempted to right himself, but then collapsed face-down in the mud.
"Oy! Oy Cinda, wake up! WAKE UP!"
"Git the elf, the elf!"
The sleeping halfling that Vanis and Grant had spotted earlier stood up instantly, assessing the situation she was waking up to with considerable speed. After glancing at the halfing in the mud, the bandits fighting with the scattered people, and a giant wolf and imp, her face took on a terrifying appearance. She let out a guttural roar, a nearly inhuman sound, charging at the half-elf in question. The other two bandits continued their assault.

Correction from last turn: Nukklebud is currently at 30 hit points.
Koras turned and snarled at the human who was antagonizing Phara. With a leaping bite, he tried to rip the human unsavory to shreds.
Koras uses a bite attack (with advantage) on U1, with a chance to shove. It's hard to write these posts to be interesting when Koras can't speak or emote in any way.
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither."Half-elf, dammit, half-elf-" Vanis insisted, only to get cut off by a blow that left him at half health bleeding and stunned. Trust me to forget the sleeping one...
"Dammit, woman, not on the first date!" he yelled, stabbing viciously in a flurry of blades before retreating to the relative safety of a couple of people whom he hoped were more inviting targets... even if they did look a little squishy. "Keep that crazy halfling away from me!"

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Trusting the druid to handle the human unsavory, Phara turned her attention to the crazed halfling with a snarl of her own. The cleric was losing her temper with these battles, and her emotions were reflected in her choice of attack. Reaching out with a clenched hand toward the female unsavory, Phara hissed out an oath and focused her (righteous?) rage on her enemy.
Phara casts Inflict Wounds on U4. Make a melee spell attack against a creature you can reach. On a hit, the target takes 3d10 necrotic damage.

"COWARD! GET BACK HERE!" the halfling shouted at Vanis, her face twisting in fury when the half-elf stabbed her and took off running without giving her a chance to strike back. The twin attacks from Nukklebud and Phara, though, made her temporarily forget her rage to focus on a more immediate threat.
"YOUR SHIELD-SUIT FAILS BEFORE MY AXE!" she shouted, slamming her greataxe into Phara, though thankfully for the cleric it was mostly deflected by her armor and shield in order to lessen the blow.
"Gods-damned demon!" the rough-looking elf shouted, finally managing to land a strike on the Imp. With the menace out of the way, he strafed Koras and delivered a blow with his mace to the wolf's back, while his partner worked on the transformed druid from the front.

Through observing the water, Nukklebud was able to see the dirt path that Vanis referred to and gingerly began to cross the water.
