I'm going to say that they have to be a ghost to begin with. Otherwise the RP goes from ghost-focused to allowing every character who's ever died in fiction (which is a little too broad).

Icon by Civvi the Civilian!Alright, fair enough.
- Source: OC.
- Name: Stanley Boone.
- Age/Apparent Age: He died at 10. Now he's 210, so it's a bit cool for this party to be on the two-hundredth anniversary of his death.
- Gender: Male.
- Appearance: He's the classic bedsheet ghost with white body, simple shape, and empty eyes. He's also smiling most of the time, given his optimistic personality.
- Personality: Stanley's a glass-half-full kind of kid, which you probably wouldn't expect from someone who was essentially trapped for 200 years. He tries to make the best of situations and wants to make other people happy. He also has a bit of an Adorably Precocious Child streak to him, always trying to act more mature than he actually is. Despite travelling the Earth for two centuries, the only adult thing he ever understood was alcohol, even if he never had it for himself. Because of this, he's still quite naive.
- Abilities/Skills/Powers: Like most ghosts, he can float, phase through walls, and possess inanimate objects. However, something (somewhat) unique to him is the ability to detect lies and emotions. No matter how well someone tries to hide how they feel, Stanley can always tell.
- Other: I know he's cliche as far as ghosts go, but I think it would be interesting to have him alongside more legitimate ghosts.
I'm going to join this RP with a veteran from the Second World War that died a Rasputinian Death. Right now I have to go to someplace else shortly so I'll just declare my interest right here. Hey, Greg, what about Dusty Village?
"In the grim darkness of the future, there is only war."Ooh, so glad I got here before this character was taken! I've been wanting to RP as them for a while.
- Source: Undertale
- Name: Napstablook
- Apparent Age: Acts like a young adult, perhaps mid-twenties, but no age has been specified.
- Gender: Nonbinary. They/them pronouns.
- Appearance: oh....
- Personality: They are a morose and melancholic little ghost who really likes their alone time. They do have a quirky side, but you have to get past all those tears and misery first. Very low self-esteem. They're lonely, and as a result put a high emphasis on family and family traditions.
- Backstory: Like all monsters, Napstablook lived in the Underground, an underground (of course) place where the monsters had been banished. They lived with their cousins on Blook Family Snail Farm for a long time before the cousins gradually drifted off to become corporeal, i.e. find a body to inhabit. One of their cousins became Mettaton, a robot and the shining star of entertainment in the Underground. Napstablook missed him greatly and constantly watched him on TV, despite Mettaton essentially abandoning them to pursue his dream of becoming famous. Napstablook continued to tend the farm, hosting snail races to make a profit and working on their music mixes in their spare time.
- Acid tears: When Napstablook cries—which they do often—be ready to dodge! For some reason, their tears are acidic and hurt on contact. The tears qualify as magic attacks, not physical, so other ghosts can be hurt by them. They also use their tears for things like writing memos and creating very nice hats. (When Napstablook wears their tear hat, they call themself Dapperblook.)
- Music-making: Napstablook is an amateur DJ and works almost all the time on their own songs. Most of them aren't bad, either. As a result, Napstablook wears a pair of headphones almost all the time.
- Lying down and feeling like garbage: After a good meal, Napstablook likes to lie down and feel like garbage. It's an old family tradition. They and anyone who joins them will apparently find themselves seeming to float in a galaxy-filled void...? It's a very relaxing but kind of trippy experience.
- Other:
- Napstablook has a unique way of speaking in that they never uses capital letters and ellipses are some of the only punctuation they use.
- People familiar with Undertale might be wondering which route of the game this Napstablook is from. I'm taking them from a random point in a neutral-pacifist route before the final boss has been reached.
p.s. i think i know what k.b. stands for :D
Currently writing something. Currently procrastinating.- Source: Touhou Project
- Name: Youmu Konpaku
- Age/Apparent Age: 47/16
- Gender: Female
- Appearance: Insists on wearing her work clothes to a party.
◊
- Personality: She's a very serious, diligent and task-oriented person. Despite her grumbling often about the workload she has and the inanity of her mistress's errands, she is extremely loyal to her boss. She tends to think of herself as the only woman around who takes things seriously, especially when paired with her boss who is anything but serious and the lighthearted attitude most others take with world-saving. Her task-oriented nature can often come across as bullheadedness, as she usually charges headlong into whatever duty she has without much of a second thought. Despite being mostly dead, and living with a ghost who regularly consorts with ghosts, vampires and a large variety of other monstrous beings, she is easily scared. She gets frightened by children's campfire stories, jumps when the slightest bit surprised, and sometimes gets so spooked that she can't readily see the difference between a real threat and someone in a costume. It's mostly not context, as she has fought things scarier than terrifying bedsheet ghosts and not bat an eyelid, but instead that she works herself up very easily and has an overactive imagination. She's usually a bit more composed when she's in the middle of work, though.
- Backstory: Works as a live-in servant for the Princess of The Dead, one Yuyuko Saigyouji. Generally spends her time doing odd tasks and house cleaning for her boss, but often sneaks out to aid in resolving crises in the neighboring Gensokyo. One day, a letter addressed to the both of them appeared on their doorstep, and Youmu was the first to open it. Yuyuko enjoys messing with her greatly, and insisted that the person who opened the letter is the intended recipient of the letter. Despite days of protests, Youmu begrudgingly accepted her master's wishes and was sent to the party.
- Abilities:
- Glorified Butler: She is a talented horticulturalist, flower arranger, cook, carpenter, tea brewer, swordfighting instructor, bonsai artist, topiary artist, sushi roller, hairdresser, dust removal expert and many other positions because she is literally the only person working in the house of Hakugyokurou. Despite her master being essentially Queen of The Netherworld, she doesn't enlist any of the billions of spirits lying around for work and makes Youmu do every single job that could possibly be needed in a mansion with two permanent residents.
- Mostly Dead: She is a half-ghost. The exact definition and mechanism of this is lost on just about everyone. What it ultimately means is that she has two "bodies". One is a relatively normal human body, cold to the touch and pale but otherwise mundane. The other is her ghost half, a floating white spirit that follows and mirrors her movements. The ghosty bit can pass through walls but she can't, the normal one can talk but the other can't, but both are the same person. They can switch positions at any given time, but her ghosty bit can only move a few feet away from her other half.
- Samurai Gardener: She's very talented with a sword, specifically the normally cumbersome method of dual wielding. Despite her many talents, she is technically hired as a sword instructor above else and it shows. Mostly used for gardening, because two katanas surprisingly much faster than hedge clippers at trimming cherry trees. She's the owner of two family heirlooms, enchanted katanas named Roukanken and Hakurouken capable of cutting anything, including other ghosts. Her master insisted that she not bring them along to a formal party just this once, so she's gonna have to make due with whatever she finds if push comes to shove.

All created characters so far are accepted.
I think I'll make the Discussion thread when we have six or so participants, then start the RP a week after that. Whenever that winds up happening, considering how long it's taken to get three signups.
Icon by Civvi the Civilian!- Source (Optional): Yu-Gi-Oh TCG (based on Ghostrick Yuki-Onna)
- Name: Marcia “Yuki-Onna” Shyneet
- Age/Apparent Age: She was 15 years old when she fell to her death. She’s now 26 years old.
- Gender: Female
- Appearance: White-haired girl with long-sleeved robe, big scarf and a snowflake-themed headband. Carries a snow bunny doll with her at all times.
- Personality: Extremely shy, but she’s quite friendly once you get to know her. She tries avoiding looking at people when she’s talking to them and often covers her face with her scarf out of habit. Although she hangs out with a crowd of Halloween monsters who enjoy playing tricks on unsuspecting visitors, she thinks pranking people is a sign of immaturity.
- Backstory (Optional): Before meeting the Ghostrick group, Marcia was an alchemist. While looking for rare materials on a mountain, she tripped over a stray branch and fell into a ravine. She reappeared at the spot where she died and had to be told that she died. Seeing as she can’t resume her normal life, she wandered the world until she encountered the Ghostrick mansion and accepted their offer for a roof over their head. When the Ghostrick got an invitation letter to the party, they offered it to Marcia instead of Mary note or Specternote .
- Abilities/Skills/Powers:
- Marcia is capable of casting a very basic form of ice magic. She mostly uses it to chill her drinks and uses it to chill the Ghostricks’ food. She also uses it to turn her breath chilly.
- Marcia knows how to mix healing potions. It might come in handy when somebody gets injured.
- Marcia also knows how to transmute metals. Unfortunately, she only knows how to restore rusty metals back to their original sheen.
- Other:
- Marcia simply can’t stand hot places. Whenever she finds herself in such a place, she tends to use her ice magic to cool herself off.
- She tends to stutter a bit when she talks.
- When she’s alone, she often pretends the snow bunny doll is alive and often holds conversations with it.

It really doesn't look like this RP's getting a lot of interest, so I'm thinking of just closing it.
While we could possibly manage with just five people (myself included, as I did intend of creating a character of my own), that depends on if everyone who signed up so far are still interested enough in it to make it viable. Otherwise, why bother?
On the off chance that everyone's still interested after all, Marcia doesn't look objectionable to me and thus is accepted.
Icon by Civvi the Civilian! All right then. Whenever I get around to deciding what character I'm going to use, I'll go ahead and launch the main and discussion threads.
Icon by Civvi the Civilian!Well, this took a while. But the RP's started up now. Feel free to post at your leisure.
And here's my character. She'll join after everyone else has.
- Source (Optional): Project Untitled (8) on my Troper page.
- Name: Kyra
- Age/Apparent Age: Unknown actual age, but looks to be 15-16
- Gender: Female
- Appearance: Kyra looks to be a Caucasian teenage girl, with long blonde hair and pale blue eyes. She's rather averagely built. She looks a little "washed out" compared to a living person. She normally has a black bow in her hair, and usually wears a pale blue and white dress, along with white socks and black mary janes.
- Personality: For someone who's dead, Kyra is awfully cheerful. She's always happy to make new friends, and is generally willing to help others if they need it. She's also a rather patient person and is extremely difficult to anger; in fact, she's far more likely to get sad than angry.
- Abilities/Skills/Powers: Kyra's main ability is being able to manipulate wind. She's not capable of summoning a massive tornado anytime soon, but she's perfectly capable of using her abilities to blow someone against the wall or allow someone to "fly."

THIS RP HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED. SIGNUPS ARE CLOSED.
Ah, the existence of a ghost. It’s often a sad one, what with having died yet still being rooted to the mortal plane for whatever reason. Sometimes the rules of their respective reality make things even harder for them, but sometimes they might not want to make the best of their situation.
However, no one said it always has to be sad.
One by one, the ghosts of reality would find themselves coming into possession of a strange envelope. Somehow the sender knew where to find them, even if they had to send their message across the multiverse, but yet there was no way to respond because whoever it was didn’t bother to put a return address. Inside the envelope they would find a letter:
"To all spirits, spectres, ectoplasms, et al,
Feeling morose about your state of existence? Are you filled with loneliness and regret? I understand your pain, and have a possible solution to ease it, if only for a little while.
I possess a grand mansion, filled with everything I could possibly need and then some. But I am but a single soul. Besides, I can’t help but feel that it needs a little more...spirit. So I’ve decided to open my doors to the lost souls of reality, those who feel their existence lacks a sense of purpose, for a night of haunting. You will be with others in similar states, so perhaps you will be able to make each other feel better. Or if that’s not convincing enough, free refreshments will be provided. I happen to know some things about ghosts.
If you wish to join the fun, you merely need to take this letter with you. One way or another, you will eventually find yourselves at my front door. I hope to see you there.
-K.B."
If the ghosts decided to take this "K.B." up on their offer, they needed only to take a few twists and turns through the woods, a back alley, or whatever remote location was convenient to find themselves standing in front of the advertised mansion. What they did when they got there...well, that was for their host to know and for them to find out.
Welcome to a Ghostly Gathering, a ghost-focused crossover RP. The story here is a rather simple one: a mysterious "K.B." wants to attract ghosts to their mansion. So they’ve decided to host a haunted bash and send out invitations to whatever ghost happens to be interested. For all they know, maybe some of the ghosts will stick around once the party’s over.
This is not going to be a combat-focused RP. Instead, the idea is to have the characters bounce off each other and looking around their host’s mansion just to see if they can learn more about them. It’s not meant to be a plot-heavy RP, although there’s still room for the occasional twist and turn plus whatever drama results from the characters being ghosts.
This RP is intended to be short by design, though it can certainly last longer if the players are enjoying themselves enough.
If you don’t post after a week or so, I’ll assume you’ve dropped out and remove you from this list. You’re welcome to rejoin with either the same character or a different one, but if you keep dropping out and wanting to rejoin I’ll probably start refusing you entry at some point.
