i actually just did the prince mush fight for the first time myself!
i think that the fight is really really well designed. i think it's clever in the ways that it forces you to interact with the mechanics of the game (stuff like encouraging you to charge or set up while he's dodgy, making players try and super guard). and i love that the fight is difficult, i was blown away by the damage numbers!
i was in the middle of a challenge run (mario is at 5 max hp, i have double pain equipped, and my partners are the only ones that can deal damage) when attempting the fight, so it took me a couple tries before i got it.
im aware that there's another secret boss fight and i'm really excited to see how that goes
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeRegarding your Yoshi partner at least, Prince Mush is immune to Gulp. The remake's devs factored it in, and he swats the tongue off.

Self-professed Wild Card who thinks cynicism isn't so bad.Apparently he's also immune to lightning, the Payback status and all status effects.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Since I don't think it was mentioned here yet, the poem in the Riddle Tower has been changed slightly. It also gets displayed in full when you get all the keys.
Carrying the lore of the sky
Carrying secrets from on high
By skill and might, engraved in stone
Stones to rival the celestial spheres
The seven hewn by a fell hand
Feared far and wide across the land
Master of shadow, queen of fear
Also it just struck me that for all Frankly talks about researching the legends and myths of Rogueport, he never bothered to talk to the guy who lives on the roof of his house.
Bewitching EyesHe might know what Momotaro is, and that's basically the back story for the Shadow Queen. (Well, Momotar-Toad, technically.)
But then, even if Frankly could get up there, he might not even believe the guy.
Frankley: So a Toad and his three non-Toad friends killed the Shadow Queen's body but not her spirit, and they were cursed to hold the Crystal Stars and were sealed into chests when they let go?
Roof Guy: Yes.
Frankley: Plagiarist.

Just beat Whacka! I used a few Life Shrooms on my Partners but I think it was cause I legitimately forgot about Vivian's Shade move. Oops!
At least I'm rich enough to buy back everything I used.
EDIT: Just beat the final superboss, Prince Mush! I had to use superguards for the second phase but managed to do it...after a lot of false starts and near heart attacks but surprisingly no deaths—Dodgy Fog helped.
A Toad in the audience gave me a free Ultra Mushroom, which was nice, but I ended up using more Whacka Bumps than anything else.
I find this fan game concept, Paper Mario the Oracles of Truth
, pretty neat.

The Protomen enhanced my life.Nah man I know how it is, like work is kicking my sleep schedule to the curb right now because as soon I've get home I just sleep, wake up in the middle of the night with a lack of sleep as a reward, at lest I can play my games by then.
After 10 year plus years I have the confidence to be here. My one and only Fate servent. Finally finished TTYD's remake and man what a blast. The final boss nearly gave me my first game over but I managed to barely pull off the win thanks to Bobbery's giant bomb attack spam.
If I had any issues with the game overall - not a dealbreaker IMO, but something that's worth adressing should we ever get a newer PM like this one - is that the level design is fairly linear as a whole to the point it feels like an overcorrection to Paper Mario 1's level design, which might not be too far off from the truth? I mean, the game does reference Dry Dry Desert from the first game at one point so...?
I've also seen people have issues with the remastered soundtrack, but overall, I think this one's a legit improvement (also the original one is still available in the game and easy to access so what are you even doing).
I know the game added a bit more stuff beyond the Pit of 100 trials for postgame, but honestly I just wanna clear that up and replay the whole game again because boy I really, really missed having a Mario RPG on the Switch that's not linked to NSO which I don't use.
I don't know if more-linear is what I'd call it, but I would say that Paper Mario's levels felt more labyrinthian on average than TTYD's. The first game would commonly throw multiple objectives at you to complete in any order (find 3 letters, find 5 Yoshi kids, try to untie the knot that is navigating Flower Fields) which is really rare in TTYD, if at all. But I don't know if I'd say they simplified it as much as they tried to experiment more with what a level could look like. Chapter 3 Glitzville is a highlight for many particularly for how unconventional it is as a level, in addition to great character moments and charming twists. And for those that do like something closer to the first game it still delivers, Chapters 1 and 5 in particular.
I will admit the chapters in TTYD feel a bit shorter than the first game, particularly in this remake with the egregious backtracking bits cut down. I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing though, some Paper Mario levels could overstay their welcome (4 and 6 especially, and while I loved chapter 2 I can see why some would loathe it). And in TTYD if a level missed then the plot or character could cover for it. While Paper Mario's story and characters are very underrated, they are not enough to excuse a bad level. I'd replay the Creepy Steeple just for Vivian, I cannot say the same for Lakilester and Flower Fields.
But one thing I will say: the assault on Bowser's castle in the original is the best final level in this subseries. Jailbreaking all the captured Toads, dealing with the Bowser doors, climbing higher and higher to Peach's castle on top, it just felt very climactic. The Palace of Shadow is fine but lacks some oomph the previous had, and the rest suffer from "disappointing final level" syndrome where it seems like all the good ideas have been used up and the game is coasting on fumes until the ending.

Re: Prince Mush, apparently you get access to the fight after completing the trouble where you clean up the storeroom in the Glitz Pit. After completing that trouble, you'll get the email for the fight some time afterwards.
