Police Station Reception Area

Harold looked up at Toro and jerked his head back as a challenge. The thrill of killing was only compounded by the thrill of Beowulf's shadow hanging over him, pushing him onward. He glared up at the man, mouth slightly opened, and stayed limber. "Alright, Grendel, try your strength against mine. It is the natural right of all citizens of these United States to defend themselves against infringements against their rights to assembly." He pointed into the station. "No friends to help you out here either, so this'll be a clean one-on-one. Most likely followed by your matron there's own vengeful rampage."

Harold prepped himself to move out of the way of anything that came for him by getting his stance low and wide. His hands stayed at his sides, open and ready to go for a grab but attempting to bait Toro by leaving himself with no guard.

Tahlia stared at Chief O'Hara.

"I came here to talk to the Detective, and talk to the Detective I will."

Tahlia still had her intense tunnel vision, ignoring Harold and everything else going on. It was the only thing preventing a breakdown. A breakdown without Hewie would be disaterous for her and others.

Helena rolled her eyes at the teen with a perpetually foul mood and fouler mouth, almost regretting showing any concern for the insolent little shit. "I read." She crossed her arms and gave Phyrrhos an unimpressed look. If he was going to be needlessly hostile, she could return the favor and then some, "That's where you look at words and derive meaning, hun." She added, taking a cautious step forward and looking the young man up and down. "More to the point, I'm not here to change your nappies so I'll let you get back to listening to MCR and writing poems, mate."

Helena brushed past Phyrrhos and delved into the mythology section, pulling out a book on Greek gods and hoping Alexandria would turn up soon. Though perhaps after the kid left, god knows what he was playing at.

The police station

Gregorio stood slack-jawed as the chaos inside ensued. Gregorio's first instinct was to take a step back and turn to move out of the police station but Suzie yanked at his arm. "You can't chicken out now, Gregorio!" Suzie exclaimed. "Charlotte might be in danger!" Gregorio frowned and nodded.

"You're right," Gregorio replied. "But how do we get past these guys?" he asked.

Suzie crossed her arms and thought for a moment. Then she remembered. "Hey, didn't the detective give you his phone number?" Gregorio shook his head.

"No, I gave him mine," Gregorio admitted. Suzie snapped her finger.

Garcias Household

Aran had read his fair share of war bios, so Garcias' story wasn't anything new. Didn't make it any less depressing, though. "Guess that explains the warm welcome..." It was out before he realised, and he immediately looked apologetic. "No, I mean, uh... Sorry. For everything that's happened."

He moved on quickly from his bumble to the real meat of her information. "This could be bad. If what happened at Helena's ties back to Mr. Garcias' stint in the army, then we might be looking at an international incident." The scope of all this was starting to get to him. He still wanted to help any way he could, especially after hearing this woman's story, but how much could one group of people really do against this? Even armed with powers like they were?

Calm down. Focus on the little picture and work your way up. He faced the woman again, doubt now erased from his expression. "Please, ma'am, if there's anything else you can tell us... Any little detail that might help reveal the identity of the people who dragged your husband into this. Has he been going anywhere odd? Been talking to someone on the phone a lot?"

The Police Station

After hearing such a commotion coming from outside his office, Kilgrave ventured outside with Hewie and the Doberman to have a look, though not before locking Charlotte in said office. "You stay put, thank you." He then strolled over to the receptionist's area, not batting an eye at the chaos unfolding before him. And when he finally saw just who was responsible, he widened his eyes, knowing what had to be done. He then snapped his fingers, and Hewie was free, running to his Master's arms. "Hopefully," he mused, "that should take care of that." He then turned to Harold. "And who just might you be? You do not look like an officer..."

The Soldier's House

"As a matter of fact — hold it. Do you hear that?"

The sounds of a large black van rolling up the driveway could be heard through the windows, as though the specter of death was fast approaching...

The Library (of Alexandria)

Having just taken her lunch break, Alexandria walked over to the mythology section for light reading where upon she noticed Helena had already beaten her to the punch. "Back so soon?', she asked. "Did you happen to uncover anything? Anything at all?

Gregorio and Suzie were debating on what to do, when Detective Kilgrave came out of his office. "Detective!" Suzie exclaimed. "Where's Charlotte Silverberg? I saw her go in here and she hasn't come out yet!" Gregorio shot her a look.

"This isn't the best time to be demanding anything from him... he looks upset," Gregorio muttered. Suzie shot him a look.

"This is the PERFECT time to ask him stuff! Charlotte could be in danger!" Suzie pointed out. Gregorio sighed.

"Very well," Gregorio replied, resigned.

Oh good, someone who wasn't fucking nuts. Harold was tunnel-visioning really hard right now and he wasn't about to let the girl's weird ghost dog bother him. Probably another descendant, which made the chaos here make sense, good, let's shut that away until this wasn't a pressing issue.

He extended a hand to shake with the detective. "Hi, Harold Fredricksen, I'm a contractor trying to have my meeting with Chief O'Hara here, but Toro here wanted to throw down." Harold cracked his knuckles and nodded to Toro. "So I figure that if that is inevitable I would prepare myself, engage in combat, and take him to the linoleum, or whatever this floor is made of, then have my meeting with O'Hara."

Garcias Household

Aran gave Esther a concerned look before moving closer to the window, getting a peak of the van outside while trying to keep himself inconspicuous. He couldn't see it clearly, but the colour was enough to remind him of the vehicle that had been outside Helena Troy's estate. Black vans weren't that uncommon, but two unmarked ones in as many days?

He turned to face the woman again. "This place have a back door? They could be friendly, but I don't want to chance it with the circumstances as they are."

For a moment he hesitated, but then turned to Esther. If Mrs. Garcias ended up thinking they were wacko, then so be it. "Hey, you have an idea about what your powers can do? Anything that could help us out right now?"

As Mrs. Garcias finished her story, Esther was almost on the verge of tears herself. "Don't worry, ma'am. The people that took your husband from you will be avenged, insh'allah." She said emphatically.

When the black van arrived, Esther glanced back at Aran. "Uh, as far as I know, my powers let me manipulate stone. Or walls. I'm not really sure which it is, but either should be pretty useful here."

Library

Helena jumped a little when Alexandria came up beside her, still on edge but glad to see the older woman, "Oh, there you are!" She smiled, lowering the book and turning to face her, "One og the few benefits of my ancestor is reduced travel times, heh." She quipped with a shrug before continuing, "But yeah, you could say that. Tahlia and I hada little chat with the Reverend - he gave us pamphlets and made some... unwanted advances but nothing terribly incriminating. Though I shudder to think of his printing bills..." The young Greek began, handing Alexandria one of the pamphlets, "But I had a, uh, friend of mine poke around the Church."

Helena explained everything James had told her about the Church, it's considerable stash of weapons ('More guns than a Texan on the Fourth of July'), the yet untouched journal, the secretive tunnel to the Police Station and the shapeshifter therein. "Unfortunately the Rev wasn't as convinced by my performance as I thought. He jumped me with a gun in the cemetery across from the Church. I escaped, obviously, but he did get my name." She admitted with a frown, scratching the back of her neck. She worried what he could do with her name considering his literal connection to the police but said nothing more on it. "Right now I'm trying to figure out a way to sneak in and take a squiz at that journal. Tahlia was getting her dog, Hewie, fixed up last I heard. I hope she's alright..."

Maria Geriro
Descendant of Mars
Olympos Garage

Thankfully for Violet, she was fast enough to catch her despite being startled by the sudden jump. She did her best to ignore the obviously worried stare of her father. Not that she blamed him. If she was asked this a few days ago, she would've thought they were nuts. ...and Wonder Woman? What was it with them and calling her by famous female superheroes?

"I'll get the car ready in case you need a quick getaway," he said.

She nodded to her father (with a silent sorry) then started to back up for a few meters, holding Violet securely. When she was far enough, and making sure she would be behind the truck at the end of the line, she started running down the sidewalk and, true to Violet's guess, much faster than she usually could. And it was a lot easier to reach the speed too.

Eventually, she was right behind the last truck, so that they wouldn't be seen...at least by the guards and drivers. She loosened her hold a little so that Violet could move and do as planned.

The Police Station

As the chaos and commotion across the Police Station finally started winding down, Kilgrave merely looked at Harold with measured disdain. "I'm sorry, but there must have been some sort of misunderstanding. Chief O'Hara is not seeing anyone today that he does not wish to see, and I know for a fact that he doesn't wish to see you. Now, I have some rather pressing business to attend to, so if you've anything else to say, make it quick will you?"

The Soldier's House

Just then, a loud, hammering knock could be heard at the door, as if the gates of hell were about to come crashing through...

'''The Library of Alexandria

'''Hm," said Alexandria, taking in all that that Helena had told her, and ponder about just what to do next. "It seems to me that the best thing to do is just wait until nightfall, and sneak into the Church. Unless your 'friend' saw a bed down there, I'm assuming that he doesn't actually sleep in the Church. And obviously, the Reverend must have a way of getting down there himself, so you should be able to do the same. All that remains is figuring out just to break in, and without leaving any traces of having done so." She took a moment to further contemplate the situation before suggesting a solution that was rather out of the box.

"From the last I saw of it, it was a rather old Church. The Reverend must have picked it out and given it some decent renovations, but it's far from new. And something like that is bound to have rats or mice or somesuch somewhere. This may sound morbid, but from what you've told me about your abilities, do you think it would be possible to teleport from a graveyard into the church through a dead rat? They don't live forever you know. Or do you have to know for sure if there's a recent death before 'porting in?"

"It will be faster for you to just print out a page of your schedule now instead of getting a phone call half an hour later and having to explain to them that you suffered a slip in your schedule and had not, in fact, put us down for..." He checked his wrist watch. "And had not, in fact, put us down for ten minutes in the past."

"Alright, here goes nothing," Violet said, pressing her hand against the truck's back door. Three lines formed in the metal from where it was perfectly cleaved in the shape of a large rectangle, with the metal bending along the fourth side that wasn't cut as if it were a makeshift hinge. The resulting cuts formed an open door in the back of the truck.

Helena wasn't exactly comfortable with going back into the Church and praying the Reverend was not only the only one defending it but that he wasn't around when she intended to sneak in. But, Alexandria did have an interesting point about the rat population of the old church - if nothing else, that could ensure an escape route if and when things went tits up, "Ah, that's a good idea..." She rubbed her chin, mulling over the concept, "Honestly my concept of 'morbid' has drastically changed lately, heh. The death does have to be recent so far as I know, or at least the resting place kinda 'final'. But I can sort of... feel when something dies nearby." She explained with a grimace, not relishing that particular sensation.

"So, if I hang out in the graveyard near the church I'll be able to tell if a rat has died there I can use. Either way, it's probably best I go at night... Or maybe I can get my friend to check if the coast is clear." Helena suggested, wringing her hands nervously, "Until then, have you heard anything from the others? Or, you know, any more weird stuff on the news?"

"Stone and/or walls." Aran nodded back at Esther. "Yeah, that could be a big help. If they're not friendly then a wall between us and them could be our ticket out-"

A sudden banging interrupted him. Crap, how fast did this newcomer move? Aran hurried through their options in his head. The scooter and car were both out front, so pretending the house was empty was likely to fail. They'd knocked first, but they might not keep up the niceties for long. At the very least the three of them had a few seconds to act before that happened.

Aran darted out the room and put himself between the living room door and the front door. A part of him wanted to rush forward and confront the person right now, but he ignored it for the moment. "To the back, quickly." He hadn't gotten an answer as to whether this place had a rear exit, but surely there'd be a window at least?

Olympos Garage -> Inside Olympos Truck

Violet easily made a makeshift door. With that finished, she jumped, using her shoulder to open the door and to keep from Violet slam into steel. She landed right on her back, on the steel. Her guess was right, even with her durability, the impact still hurt, but they were inside. With a sigh of relief, she let go of Violet and let herself slump on the floor.

Hopefully, the impact wasn't enough to make the driver notice.

"You okay there?" Violet asked Maria. She sat up and put her hand against the side of the truck again, this time using her power to bend the metal back into place and warp it until it was back to its original condition, as if nothing had happened to it.

"Here's hoping they don't check the trucks," she added, trying to get a look at what was inside.

"Not particularly," said Alexandria. "I'm rather amazed myself. Though I imagine that everyone else is up to their necks in whatever else they've gotten themselves into. If you nearly got yourself shot just by talking to a priest, imagine what must be happening to the rest of them."

The Police Station

Kilgrave opened up the weekly schedule for the police station on his smartphone and showed it to Harold. "This contains every single notable meeting for every notable personable this week, and as you can see, you are clearly not on it. Now, perhaps you could send an email or phone call to the Chief and attempt to arrange an actual scheduled meeting instead of coming up with what is in all evidence a complete and total crock, but until then, if you'll excuse?" He then began to head back to his office, completely ignoring Suzie as he did so.

Olympus Garage, Inside the Truck

Inside the truck were various crates and strange containers which contained only abbreviated labels and non-indicative numberings on their surfaces; nothing to tell what was actually in them. The only way to do so would be to open them up and see what was inside...

The Soldier's House

As the banging on the door continued, the woman told Aran and Esther that there was, "...a door out back. This way, quick!" She began to motion them towards the back, but just then, the knocking stop, and a strong yet sincere voice could be heard from the door. "Ms.Garcias? Ms.Garcias, please, let me in! I was a friend of your husband! We served together in the army; we kept in touch even after we were discharged! Please, you must let me in! They're coming, Ms.Garcias! They're coming, and unless you let me in, unless you let me help you, there will be nothing you can do! Please."

At this point, Aran and Esther had two choices before them. They could either make a break for the exit, or see if this man, whoever he was, was telling the truth...
