Oh neat.
Hope that means they have faith their create-a-character is really good. Code Vein set the bar high.
You are not alone. There's a new weapon you might want to try that's pure Bloodborne. The Switchglaive. It's 3 weapons in one but I think the weapon is based on stance (haven't used it yet, I have one and I really want to try it).
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2Okay I played the demo today.
Character creation is cool, though I hope not being able to change muscularity for females is just a demo thing.
The new yokai transformation abilities are ehhh. I haven't found it that reliable so far and no it's not nearly as strong as living weapon in Nioh 1 was.
The new enemies are pretty cool. They seem rather difficult at first but once you get their patterns they're manageable so long as you're patient.
There's two new weapons, the hatchets are are like dual axes and have moves where you can throw them and the switchglaive which is kind of like a scythe but can shrink down more or less into a glaive like weapon for mid stance and gullotine for low stance. I played with both a bit and while fun I find the glaive a bit slow with too much recovery on high stance and the hatches I liked a bit more but I found their ranged moves not as useful as you'd expect.
The bosses however...the 2nd boss wasn't too bad, it took me 5 tries. The 1st boss however is pretty brutal and killed me 16 times. It's hella quick and its openings can be tricky to exploit since it has a tendency to move out of range since it moves so much. It doesn't help your gear likely sucks at that point and you really aren't strong enough to reliably tussle with such a foe.
A PSA for something the game doesn't tell you (Nioh 2). You probably found a few skills in the skill tree for augmenting active skills. What you think happens is that all skills would be augmented with the ability (like a skill that adds fire to attacks). What the game doesn't tell you is that you have to equip these augments in the skill customization menu. You can augment the skills you have to 1 augment per attack but you CAN put the same augment on a different stance.
Edit:I was wrong. It is actually one augment for the whole weapon so you can't have the same augment on different stances.

Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2Started the demo. Made a tall, thicc, big titted silver haired Axe and Odachi user.
Really liking the Yokai Shift forms, it feels even more like the Onimusha forms then the guardian sprit weapon enhanceents from the original, and its all the better for it. The Shark one is my favorite due to their attack speed.
Watch SymphogearDidn't spend much time on character creation since it's a bit incomplete at the moment; there are locked options and some of the sliders aren't enabled. Made a chick that kinda looked like Michelle Yeoh.
Loving it so far. They've changed as little as possible from the first Nioh, and I see that as a good thing. All my samurai instincts are intact.
Went straight for the hatchets, and they're fun... But the switch glaive is very much a new favorite of mine. It's one of the funnest weapons to use in gaming history.
The kappa dude that helps you out. I want his babies.
Lots of new monsters to fight. Is the bestiary in the menus somewhere?
You are not alone.Yes, it's in the hut option which is in the menu during the mission select screen. Though for some reason the beastiry is at 30FPS even if playing on 60FPS mode. i also dislike that the music doesn't play while viewing it anymore.
But man I just lovvvvvvve ni-oh's take on yokai. the snake boss looks so cool.
"Yo anyone have a plan on how to take down a giant scythe weasel going 4000MPH?"
I love the idea of Hideyoshi being The Dividual although given what he did to poor Ginchiyo we're definitely gonna have to kill our other half by the end of the game.
You are not alone.Sorry for the late answer but here's the best I got for you. Watch the Weesle's attacks because he's open to a hit or two once he finishes a combo. You'll want to wait a few seconds when he does a paw swipe because might not see the second or third hit coming if you're being overly aggressive. He rolling attack actually leaves him open IF your on the end of the attack when he lands. Once the world goes "Dark Mode" pop a sacred water and hide behind some trees while keeping an eye on him. If you see him split in 3 just block it's really hard to dodge. Finally, when are being aggressive keep a healthy distance from him so doesn't just do a quick grab and end your life. Hope this helps.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2Oh it helped. After dying a half dozen times earlier I came back and took down the scytheweasel.
But now I am being slaughtered by three snakes tied together that someone stuck a giant knife onto.
Man, they pull less punches than little mac.
You are not alone. Now that one is a little bit harder. The good news is that for the dlc reward you don't need to beat this boss so if you get frustrated you won't lose anything other than pride if you don't kill it. First off Sacred Water or the Talisman that gives Stamina regen is a MUST this fight because the dark world does not time out like the Weesle. You have to hit the snake enough times to purge the Dark World. I don't remember if the Corruption or the Purity weapon does more Ki damage but if you find out use that kind of weapon on this boss. Second of all, focus on the arms if possible till they "die" so you don't have to deal with double snakes during Dark mode. Once in dark mode, hug the walls, the snakes charge attack should only hit you once (at least it did for me) after the first hit the snake will either do a 180 and go in the other direction or stop either way take that time to get some hits in. Other than that, it's another spacing game because dang if it's grab doesn't come out fast. Good luck killing the boss.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2For the weasel use the big trees to block his wind blades. Usually if you hide behind a tree and block the winds blades will almost never hit you and it throws off his rolling attack to so even if you block it won't hit you completely and sap all your ki.
The hardest part of the fight iMo is just hitting him, however if you roll diagonally torwards him you can avoid his basic slash combo and get a hit or two in, as well as the whirlwind move which is the move that leaves him most open. The whirlwind had terrible tracking so he'll miss it most of the time as long as you roll towards him on its startup.
The snake boss is easier IMO. Cut off both mini snake arms, keep about mid distance from him so he can't hit you with his grab and bait his attack where he slams his head on the ground as it leaves him open. For the wiggle move just block and move the side as you do so.
I hope the final game does something about dark world during bosses because it's a bit of a Scrappy Mechanic IMO. Reminds me of the DLC stuff like when date would activitate LW and you'd just have to avoid him until it ran out, which isn't cool if it's going to be a constant thing across bosses.
Died another dozen times to the Yatsu-no-kami. Goddamn.
I just can't seem to get a good hit in. Smacking its noggin when it does the head slam only scratches it even with a switchglaive high heavy and whenever I lay into it with a combo that grab moves comes out. There just doesn't seem to be anything I can do to do real damage to it.
You are not alone. Are you in high stance? I just used the high stance odachi and played pretty conservatively. I don't suggest getting to close with him because that throw is hard to avoid on reaction and does GROSS damage.
You did say high stance, derp. Maybe you need a better weapon?
Edited by Vertigo_High on Nov 7th 2019 at 10:37:16 AM
I mostly use the switchglaive medium stance early because the strikes hit high enough to damage the snake "Arms", both at once usually.
After those go down there just doesn't seem to be anything to do. I get close and eventually get squeezed to death, I keep my distance and lose a battle of attrition.
Hugging the wall like Dark said might work...
EDIT: Nope. Fuck it. Spent almost four hours trying to beat it/farming for materials to beat it. Fuck it. Fuuuuuuuuck it.

You are not alone. This thread is being "Free'd from it's mortal coil" (by the way they updated the "you died" music its nice)to say this, the game comes out in two weeks, and there is a new demo out for the weekend. If you killed the beta boss, the reward for when you get the full game is the same so if you missed the beta you have another shot at the reward.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2Okay but can we add muscles on our girls now?
Because that was some BS in the other demo lol.
I'm skipping this demo because I don't want to spoil another boss for the final game but awwww yeah! I've been replaying Nioh 1 lately though I did stop when I got MMZXLC. Last boss I beat was Otashi or Otishi or um the dude with the veil. He only took me one attempt, which was surprising since I recall him giving me a lot of trouble first time I played.
Of course, there's still shima sakon...RIP.

Thread Necroing for a PSA.
1. The Nioh 2 Beta drops this Friday and ends on November 10th.
2. There is a create a character competition where the best 6 (3 male and 3 female) created characters using the beta will be used as presets in the main game. Details here
.
