Crazy man with guns roams the multiverse, picking up stray kids along the way, in search of Cosmic Keystone for...reasons that I forget.
And so far the response to the casting is positive, I take it? Because I don't know about y'all, but seeing Elba and Mc Conaughey together makes me really excited.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?First look at some of the images from the film.
Looking pretty good so far. Idris Elba (to no one's surprise) looks like a stone cold badass. And McConaughey's looking pretty good as the Man in Black as well.

in 10 or so years would probably be great. Maybe they can have him cameo in a sequel as a former Roland or something.
“I took a pen and cut Roland’s dialogue to the bone,” King told Entertainment Weekly. “The less he says the better off, and why not? Idris Elba can act with his face. He’s terrific at it. He projects that sense of combined menace and security. [Roland] is the Western hero, the strong, silent type: ‘Yep,’ ‘Nope,’ and ‘Draw.'”

For personal reasons the last book in the series can die in a fire, screaming and melting all its pages off as far as I'm concerned, but the others are pretty good. Word of warning though, King wrote a buttload of interquels that are at best passable, at worst disposable, so your mileage may vary on those. Skipping them to save money could be justifiable as they're not referred to much, if at all, in the mainline books.
Bump.
If the main villains (Randall Flagg and the Crimson King) were to receive an injection of Adaptational Badass, what would it be like?

Looks like it's finally happening.
It's gonna be directed by Nikolaj Arcel and starring Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey.
